  1. Just a quick and dirty phone cam shot... Yes, I know I bought this as a prize for my friend's stag party, but the karting grand prix has been cancelled due to expenses, so it looks like we'll just be going out for drinks instead. I've suggested to the person organizing it that we could auction off the watch during the evening, and give the money to our friend as a wedding present, or, I could just add the watch to my own collection So far, I haven't had confirmation about the auction, so I'm just giving it a last minute 'shakedown cruise' with the bezel tracking Tokyo time
  2. Better quality gear than I use Congrats on the work thus far
  3. Interesting reading, thanks for correcting my mistake I thought that Eurotimez was selling Noobmariners. Thanks again
  4. All joking aside, I do use the blade of my Swiss Army Knife as a springbar tool if a watch is on a strap (and has springbars )
  5. Fantastic Emily certainly looks very comfortable and competent with the tools, I think this might be a lifelong interest for her
  6. I believe that Euromariners are Noobmariners... I might be wrong though...
  7. I've got a pair of tick removers which are great for getting hold of movement clamps and other intricate parts
  8. That's true... It might be a case of going over it with the paint, then using something like a toothpick soaked in paint remover and removing the surplus paint bit at a time... /
  9. I guess it goes without saying that my thoughts are with my bro Sixx at this time... All the best, amigo
  10. The easiest way I can think of to resolve this issue, would be to simply apply some flat black enamel paint, and then wipe off any excess... It worked for DSSD mods, so should work here too
  11. That's be my 004, which was a birthday present from my wife a few years ago. It needs a new movement, and hasn't seen wrist time in a while, but it's going nowhere
  12. Check their feedback and see for yourself what others have said about them Folks here get nervous about dealers who aren't listed here, and start thinking that any other dealer is a scammer... My primary dealer was originally on CQout, and is now considered a trusted dealer by many members here. CQout have excellent policing of their dealers, and once someone gets over 3 negative feedbacks, they get their account revoked (even if the negatives are stupid complaints which could have been resolved simply by talking to the dealer) If they also use the CQout escrow service, then there is zero risk to your money. If the goods don't arrive, aren't satisfactory, then simply return them, and the money is returned... Best of luck with your purchases
  13. And have a crown guard jamming into his hand?
  14. It looks like a 104 which has been PVD coated (on a stock dive strap)
  15. I like that I wouldn't've thought it would be possible to put brutality in a positive light, but, you managed to do it, bro All it takes is a different perspective, and then it all becomes clear
  16. The next time your wife tries to say that, just tell her about how I sold my collection to pay for my wedding reception, and food money for Tokyo. And then... Only kidding, you don't have to do as the poster says But, it might help change her opinion of reps if she realizes that they can still be sold off in times of need
  17. I may live among the inbreds of Norfolk, but I'm really from Sussex too Welcome to the jungle
  18. I'd say don't do it, for all the reasons people have mentioned above. I got bored of my Daytona very quickly. rep or gen doesn't even come into the question. As people mentioned above, everyone will assume it is a rep anyway, because it says "Rolex" on the dial. New watches will be sure to take your eye in the future, and, if you had the Daytona, you would be honor-bound not to buy them... It's not worth it... Awesome that your wife would be prepared to do that, but it's also a serious mind-game to try and get you to 'fall into line' Not worth it, my friend
  19. It's a shame, as one would have thought that a community of supposed 'watch enthusiasts' would simply appreciate a watch for being a nice watch, rather than getting all uppity and elitist about trademark infringement Then again, I guess if someone is trying to pass a rep off as a gen, then they're putting across a false image, so I guess it's only fair that they receive a little lesson in the value of honesty
  20. Oh for sure, it's a stupid thing to do, but it was nice to see such a thread not turn into a "Lets make fun of the OP for being poor and wearing a fake..." flaming, as often happens on TZ Right and wrong is one thing, but one thing which really bugs me in life, is elitists. Rather than just enjoying something, they always miss the point
  21. The one thing I noticed about the thread, compared to similar ones on TZ, was that no one started flaming the OP, like calling him a cheap wannabe scummer for daring to wear a Fake Rolex!!. Okay, there was some 'busting of the chops', but nothing truly mean-spirited or elitist, which I've always found TZ reeks of... An interesting read, if for nothing other than the social commentary As for the OP who tried passing his rep off as a gen: Shame on you, Sir, very bad form
