  1. Thanks for all the replys

next question. eshopping88 on cqout. As anyone had any experience. I was thinking of buying a 7750 daytona and the cheaper planet ocean and longines grand vitessa.

Check their feedback and see for yourself what others have said about them :) Folks here get nervous about dealers who aren't listed here, and start thinking that any other dealer is a scammer... My primary dealer was originally on CQout, and is now considered a trusted dealer by many members here. CQout have excellent policing of their dealers, and once someone gets over 3 negative feedbacks, they get their account revoked (even if the negatives are stupid complaints which could have been resolved simply by talking to the dealer) If they also use the CQout escrow service, then there is zero risk to your money. If the goods don't arrive, aren't satisfactory, then simply return them, and the money is returned... Best of luck with your purchases :)

  2. Agree.....Maybe I should talk with her rather than make my own decision.

Why my wife not support me on this hobbies? Because they're fake; is worthness (from her point of view). I argue with the subject over & over again all this year.

She is not a big spender; she don't like to buy luxury bag, cloth, watch...etc. That's why she think I spend too much money & time on something worthness.

Daytona really my dream watch; but the super over price before finance crsis which make me I won't own one forever...It's not because I can't affort it; but It's way too much preimum on list price I need to pay. I think my wife just want to make me happy rather than push me to quit this hobby.

thx for all your input brothers! No matter whether I going to get the Tona or not. I won't leave RWG! It's too much fun & knowledge here!

    Best Regards,

    Raymond

The next time your wife tries to say that, just tell her about how I sold my collection to pay for my wedding reception, and food money for Tokyo. And then...

    :p

Only kidding, you don't have to do as the poster says :D But, it might help change her opinion of reps if she realizes that they can still be sold off in times of need :)

  3. I'd say don't do it, for all the reasons people have mentioned above. I got bored of my Daytona very quickly. rep or gen doesn't even come into the question. As people mentioned above, everyone will assume it is a rep anyway, because it says "Rolex" on the dial. New watches will be sure to take your eye in the future, and, if you had the Daytona, you would be honor-bound not to buy them... It's not worth it... Awesome that your wife would be prepared to do that, but it's also a serious mind-game to try and get you to 'fall into line' ;) Not worth it, my friend :)

  4. that's true TeeJay! TZ has always been like that.

It's a shame, as one would have thought that a community of supposed 'watch enthusiasts' would simply appreciate a watch for being a nice watch, rather than getting all uppity and elitist about trademark infringement :D Then again, I guess if someone is trying to pass a rep off as a gen, then they're putting across a false image, so I guess it's only fair that they receive a little lesson in the value of honesty

  5. but i will call him an idiot for posting it on there!!!

Oh for sure, it's a stupid thing to do, but it was nice to see such a thread not turn into a "Lets make fun of the OP for being poor and wearing a fake..." flaming, as often happens on TZ :) Right and wrong is one thing, but one thing which really bugs me in life, is elitists. Rather than just enjoying something, they always miss the point :D

  6. The one thing I noticed about the thread, compared to similar ones on TZ, was that no one started flaming the OP, like calling him a cheap wannabe scummer for daring to wear a Fake Rolex!!. Okay, there was some 'busting of the chops', but nothing truly mean-spirited or elitist, which I've always found TZ reeks of...

An interesting read, if for nothing other than the social commentary :) As for the OP who tried passing his rep off as a gen: Shame on you, Sir, very bad form -_-

  7. WOW!

That spot hurts like hell! It is really cool looking though, and I really like the meaning...

Thanks bro, it's an inspirational piece for sure :) To be honest, I didn't find it too painfull, just the regular sting of the needle. Given this was done by someone with less than four months time tattooing, just think how good he is going to be with more experience :D

  8. still didnt hear or received anything yet, ill call him again tomorrow..

he obviously reads my emails, pms why doesnt answer cant understand, it was a big mistake to send my watch to him

That's a real shame :( Sorry to hear you haven't had a better resolution :(

  9. I have a brown leather strap I would like a few shades darker. Tried shoe polishnwith oo success. Any suggestions. Thanks

If you go to a shoe repair store, or a decent shoe retailer, you should be able to pick up some dye which you can use on the leather. I once died a pair of honey-tan boots to a deep chocolate brown for a costume, and the effect was fantastic. The dye I used was in liquid form (like coffee with no cream or sugar), and applied by dunking cotton wool swabs in the dye (they came pre-loaded onto wire handles) and simply wiping the dye onto the leather. The darker I wanted it, the more I applied, and once it was dark enough and dry, it was just a case of buffing the boots up with a hand towel, and they were done. The one thing I would say, if you use this method, is to make sure you apply the dye evenly so as to get an even finish. No 'overlapping' lines, if doing two halves of something in one go, but by all means apply more than one coat to get the desired color :) Best of luck :good:

  10. The other week, I posted this

I forget the artist's name, but I think I've seen the works you mean :) I would really like some traditional Hawai'ian ink, but it just doesn't really blend with the Japanese work I've got planned... I should be getting some ink the weekend after next, and traded my friend a stool, in exchange for the first piece in the suit, which will be the Arabic word meaning 'to strive/to overcome' (the challenge to be a better person), which, although obviously not Japanese, will still blend with the rest of the sleeve :) I'll be sure to post a picture when it's done :)

    Today, it was done B)

    Fresh ink... Fuck Yeah!!!
