  1. Awesome watch My dad was also a toolmaker, and although the skill hasn't really passed over, the appreciation for the craft certainly has
  2. I read in another thread, that someone used the plastic insert from a shirt collar to prize up the insert. By choice, I would completely strip the watch, so I was able to get the collar insert nearly flat into the side of the insert, but that might not be a possibility... I believe the inserts on the GMTIIc are glued into place, as the ceramic cannot 'flex' to fit into the bezel, in the same way a metal or plastic insert can flex, before fitting securely. Best of luck
  3. Ahh, slightly smaller than it looks Either way, still a good purchase
  4. I have to admit, even before I converted, and pork went 'off the menu', it was probably my least favorite of the meats. A greasy bacon sandwich on occasion, if I was in the right mood for one, was about as much of it as I ever ate
  5. Sorry to hear about your situation. If it's any consolation, I can empathize. I accidentally damaged the movement of my GMTSub, and now it jams up every 24 hours around midnight. I've got a new movement (and other new parts) on order, so I also know the feeling of wanting to keep wearing it until the new movement arrives, but the worry of it crapping out at any moment The DSSD looks awesome on the NATO strap, by the way Best of luck with the movement transfer
  6. What size is it? I'm guessing +45mm? As Maxim said, the date window looks a little off, but other than that, as you say, an awesome fun watch What's the lume like?
  7. That's looking good, makes me all the more excited for mine to arrive
  8. That's a fine collection A GMT and you'll have all the essentials
  9. "I ain't Jewish, I just don't dig on swine, that's all..."
  10. To quote Homer Simpson, "A wonderful, magical animal" I was assured that the meatballs weren't pork, so this is my Sub Concoction: plain Italian Meatball marinara Cheese slices (double) Grated cheese Sweetcorn Onions Mayo Toasted Good eating
  11. I'll have to leave out the swine, but I like the sound of that sub
  12. I remember when stuff advertised for mail order, used to have "Please allow 28 days for delivery" at the bottom How times have changed
  13. I think we can all look back over our lives, and think "If I'd only done..." "If I'd made the move..." knowing that had we made that move, we would have wound up with that 'achievement' (whatever it may be). Definitely one of the more frustrating emotions, the best thing to do, is not dwell
  14. It looks awesome, and the SS of the bracelet and watch looks to be an excellent match
  15. I've got to agree with Ken here, what exactly is your complaint? That they sold something they didn't actually have to hand, but refunded you your money? That's not exactly grounds for a complaint, rather the reverse in fact. They could've just kept your money and kept you hanging on, promising something which never arrived... That would have been cause for complaint. My .2c, is that you leave a factual feedback. State the facts, ie, they didn't have the item, but that they refunded you the money, and let it go. Look at how many people here complain that they pay for goods or services, yet never get what they wanted, and still never get their money back. Look at the Jakub incident... I can understand the frustration of not being able to get the deal you were after, but take a little consolation in the fact that you got your money back to you without hassle Maybe not the best transaction, but far from the worst... Keep it neutral and factual, and there won't be any bad blood. Even if they were to leave you negative feedback (which sellers now can't do anyway), that would be one negative comment, out of how many positive ones? Anyone reading your feedback stats would easily see what happened with a transaction, and know that there was no fault with you
  16. Thanks for the advice, I'll pass the information along
  17. That's worth a lot more than a thousand What an awesome collection, thanks for sharing
  18. You're very welcome I bet it gets a lot of compliments at shows, even if it doesn't see much road time
  19. You're very welcome, and thanks It's going well so far
  20. That's one fine automobile My best friend's dad has an MGB soft-top in British Racing Green under cover in his garage. I don't know if he ever drives it, but it's a nice piece
  21. Awesome lineup Here's hoping you have a good day
  22. You're absolutely right there, PlanetOceanitis is not a curable affliction It's certainly my favorite also, in terms of pure aesthetics, especially the integrated crown guards
  23. Now imagine the watch case/strap 'as is', but with a black Air-King dial (plain 'stick' markers) and a set of 5517 military hands That's what I'm hoping to be able to build A truly awesome watch I'll definitely have to re-acquire one in the future
  24. I wish I could help, the crystals on my watches are pretty much factory stock (although I burned off the cyclops on the FL crystal)
