Those that can ID a modern sub are few and far between Those that can ID what is supposed to be a 25 year old Sub are even fewer in number. The holes on the sides of the case are smaller than the gen but only an expert at a high level will know this as factual. Same goes for the end links.

Looks pretty good I think! Do you guys think our trusted dealers will eventually get this watch?

Just want to let everyone know that TTK MBW Great White is a "must have" for all Rolex rep fanatics. The fit and finish is just superb..perfect. CG are actually very good as compared with my MBW 1680. All I plan on doing is replacing the crystal with a Clark Superdome which is in process as I type this. This watch is the closest thing to a gen (albeit a vintage gen) that money can buy out of the box.
-
On second look you are right. Pearl looks like a recessed zit! Would like to see some detailed pictures of this watch. If it comes with a solid bracelet why not just go for a MBW? Its cheaper and both would require mods anyway.
-
They mention specifically that the watch comes with a hollow link band and they ship with a solid one??? Also the dial from what I see is not the best....the second markers touch the rehaut. The crown also looks oversize. Font on the insert is too thick. Rehaut does look deep however and the pearl is not bad from what I can see.

I agree with the poster concerning having too many. I want to pare down my rep collection to maybe 8 in total as well as maybe a total of 10 gens. I bought too many at the spur of the moment and now find myself with watches that I never wear such as the HBB, FM Conquistador etc.
-
I have Joshua's black dial Conquistador with Swiss ETA movement. Great rep except crown is a lil large and a couple of the bracelet edges need polishing. Mine is brand new if anyone is interested.

Guys....I bought a Nymphmariner several weks ago. From day one the date function quick set appeared to not be the best. Nothing was centered and I had to reset the date manually each day so it was totally visible. Tonight I find that the date function will not work at all. In the quick set position the crown just spins....the date does not budge. When I try to set via passing 12 midnight the date clicks forward but only half way. I have sent a email to narikaa and am waiting on a responce. What is wrong here and is it a quick fix? Thanks alot, Perry.

Here is some great advise....Buy a Beginmariner!
perry563 replied to perry563's topic in The Rolex Area
I just compared the date mag of my Beginmariner, TW best and MBW. The Begin and TW best have the same font and mag. MBW has slightly more magnification. I will be getting a NOOBmariner from Narikaa I hope sometime this week. It will be interesting to see how the BEGIN and NOOB compare. I really cannot imagine how it could be BETTER than the Beginmariner. One of the things that bothers me the most about most sub (all Rolex reps really) is the poor fit where the end links attach to the case and between the lugs. The TW best I have the very tips of the end links stick up slightly higher than the lugs...poor fit and finish. Even my new MBW the fit here is not perfect....better but not perfect. The BEGINMARINER is P E R F E C T in this regard. No gaps and the end links fit flush in between the lugs and against the case. So right away its better than TW best and MBW. Band is perfect aside from sharp link edges. Dial is perfect, hands are perfect. Date mag and font are very close to perfect. I hate to keep going on and on but if I would have bought this BEGINmariner 2 years ago (assuming it would have been the same watch with the same level of quality) I dont think I would have bought so many subs. -

Here is some great advise....Buy a Beginmariner!

Unfortunaly I cant post any pics. You can see pics of this Sub in many posts if you look. You will spend 108 bucks and will have the best looking rep Rolex made in the world today...trust me. Its the most satisfing Sub rep I own. There are no MAJOR flaws. -
I have a beginmariner and a MBW modern as well as a TW best. The date mag on the 1680 is MUCH more magnified than any of these. It REALLY fills up the window completely. I cant post any pics unfortunatly.

Here is some great advise....Buy a Beginmariner!
perry563 replied to perry563's topic in The Rolex Area
Why be concerned? Unless you will be handling a gen side by side with the beginmariner how could anyone ever tell? Buy this watch thats all I can say! -
I bought a MBW 1680 from TTK and a replacement CLARK crystal for same. I had the crystal installed and the watch waterproofed. Everything is fine except the date mag is too magnifing. The date FILLS the mag completely. Any thoughts of what is going on here?

Here is some great advise....Buy a Beginmariner!
perry563 replied to perry563's topic in The Rolex Area
I have a 3 weeks old Beginmariner and it does not have that problem. Date font is very good...spot on. -
After 2 years of buying all sorts of reps, mostly Rolex, I finally bought a Beginmariner. I already own a MBW modern Sub, TW best, several MBW vintage Subs etc. Let me tell you that the Beginmariner with the asian movement sold by Joshua is beyond an outstanding value. It is in reality the best rep sub one can buy. Why? The band is perfect, how the band fits against the case and between the lugs is perfect, dial is perfect, hands are perfect, date mag position is perfect, date mag is close to perfect, CG are very close to perfect, sweep of the second hand is smooth as silk, bezel and insert are close to perfect, weight and feel are perfect. ALL for 110 or so bucks! This watch has the fewest nagatives of any sub I own. This includes the MBW modern Sub. The negatives are...sharp bracelet edges but most rolex subs have this issue, pimplish pearl but this can be fixed, slightly shallow rehaut but not bad really. Thats it folks. If you are into modding your reps then the MBW is the way to go. However if you just the best out of the box Sub THIS watch is the way to go! Trust me.

Need a new bezel and insert for my TW Best GMT Master II
perry563 replied to perry563's topic in The Rolex Area
I dont have a caliper. Is measuring with a ruler accurate enough? -
The insert I recieved with my GMT master (with the swiss 2892 true GMT movement) popped off. I had my watchmaker remove the bezel and glue on the insert with Epoxy cement. Unfortunatly the insert was not "laying down" well without the epoxy and now after gluing the insert is slightly higher on one side exposing the unpainted edge......in short it looks like crap! Where can I buy a aftermarket bezel and insert combo that will fit this TW best case?

Need Sub expert advise - Nymphmariner/Beginmariner/Noobmariner
perry563 replied to perry563's topic in The Rolex Area
Joshuas Beginmariner and TTKs Noob are the same watch? Are you sure? Pearl looks different at the very least. -
Narikaa Nymphmariner OR Josh Beginmariner both with asian movements and why?
-
I have been collecting reps the past 2 years. I have a MBW modern sub and a TW best sub. A friend of mine in Mexico asked me to buy him Joshua's beginmariner since he was afraid of mexico customs. In any event I recieved the Beginmariner earlier this week and I am so impressed. The overall fit and finish I think is better than any of my other subs. The bands end links fit perfectly against the case and lugs..no gaps etc. CG are real nice, rehaut is shalllow but certainly not very far off the mark...its livable. Overall I would say, in terms of fit and finish its the best rep sub I have sen. Now for my question........... I want to buy the best of the best Beginmariner type Sub. The choice is between Joshua or Narikaa. The Narikaa Sub I am told is exactly the same as TTK's Sub. The TTK sub is considered the best of the best but unavailable from TTK right now. Am I to expect high quality from the Narikaa sub just like if I were to buy from TTK? Will the Narikaa Sub be better than Joshua's sub?
-
I have 13 reps and all work fine. Only issue I had was the quick date set of my Hublot BB never worked from day 1. aside from this one small issue I have 13 reps that are running like a champ. No issues! am I lucky?
