from the us to europe, there are risks, but probably not the other way.
in denmark they check out all packges from the us. Mostly because they are charging an additional vat, if you buy stuff from overseas.
bastards.

Pugs is getting cranky because he hasn't received his Aquatimer yet.
Im getting cranky, because im an old fart, and i wanna se some new reps. NOW NOW NOW NOW!!!!!!

The crown and clasp are way off, but they are dirt cheap.
And the back actually looks decent
im kinda considering this:-)

There are two gen dials for sale on chrono24.com. go chck them out:-)
Sounds like a super project:-)

that was one crappy add. especially the music. made me want to cut of a limb and beat myself with it.

Sorry, it's all automated. No-one ever gets to see your joke unless it validates.
dammit. well it was fun while it lasted

i must admit i love writing fake emails, and passwords that make out swears when i get these phishing mails. For instance my last paypal scam login was
whatamianidiot@kissmyass.com
and my pass was
youdirtyrottenscammer
i really enjoy these small moments of retaliation. I can just see the face of the nigerian hustler getting my precious login details, hi hi.

Its a two second job to remove it yourself. I did it, and its no problem.
just unscrew the four bezel screws, and remove the hand with a hand remover, or a pair of tweezers. very easy.

Tempting : I've learnt to like this watch after our members reviews some months ago (together with the AP RO).
That make this unique Patek model a bit more affordable, even if it's not an MBK.
Unfortunately still a bit overpriced : should be more in the 250 range.
I found an Asian 21J with display caseback on cqout. Might be an option, although it's still expensive for an Asian movement and not as accurate from the crown point of view.
Hope the closed case one also comes with this Asian 21J. It would do the job, as I don't expect such a simple movement to fail.

Mods, delete my link if it's against the boards policy.
Must be not too difficult for a watchsmith to remove the seconds hand and make it further more unique.
Here's the non jumbo version : http://www.cqout.com/item.asp?id=3018062
And guess what : the seller is from BKK.
Check out the crowns. they are way of. if i bought all 3 version, i could mock up a pretty accurate one :D

Thanks offshore. That clarifies it quite a bit. I just cant really get my head wrapped around, how they would seal a chrono without the screwdown pushers.
i know they can, but how, i dont know.
thank god im not a watchsmith:-)
Seems like im gonna have to get my eod pressure tested.

Whats interesting here is the fact that hublot to a certain level are scammers themselves.
We just established the fact, that they use chinese factories to make their bezels.
Also the movement is a modified eta.
Except for the use of gold and platinum, there is absolutely no difference between the reps and their gens.
So what justifies the mad prices they command?
Off course they have the intellectual rights of the design, but then again it does resemble the ap offshore a bit:-)
I suppose this goes for all high end brands. They are actually just exploiting thir costumers.
Just think about it. If an mbk nautilus rep is of the same high standarts as the original, with a differnet, equally solid movement, is sold for 450$.
How can the bloated price of the gen ever be justified?
I think hublot are dead scared, because someone is doing their job, much better and much cheaper.

Just thinking does anybody know if a chronowatch would be less waterproof, than a non chrono?
Obviously the screw down chronos like the daytona and 187 dont count here.
I just have a hard time imagening a watch like the offshore, or the ingy would be waterproof, since the chronopusher dont seem sealed.

that looks just perfect. leave it as it is.

My father died of cancer aswell. it took 6 months from diagnose to death.
Its 4 years ago, and not 10 minutes go by without me thinking of him.
Instead of focusing on his death, i think of the good times we have had, and every ten minutes, it puts a big smile on my face.
That is the only advice i can give you. the pain wont go away, but you can use it as a good thing.
He has surely been a gift to your life, and especially so if you remember him as one.
My deepest condolences to you

bmws are amazing machines to drive. got my old 735i e32 up to 230 kmh the other night.
and thats a car from 88.
drives like a charm.
the 850i is my dream machine. but just too expensive in denmark. we have a 180% TAX on cars, so a used 850 is still around 30.000 euros.

maybe the price will drop after the cartel milk it a bit?

This came after a request I made to purchase a HBB with a spare bezel (so that I could exchange them). They wouldn't sell it separetelly and I was informed that the bezel is GLUED to the case.
GLUED to the cae!??!!!!. God dammit. Im never getting this watch.
-
LOL. it actually looks better on the rep. That font on the gen is horrible.
-
id definetly go for the seahawk. its such agreat watch. i nearl bought the sea hawk 2 in titanium. its really fantasic:-)
-
Did anybody ever consider to flip over the bezel? Could be that they just installed it the wrong way up. Wouldnt be the first silly mistake made on rep:-)
-
After some initial trouble with the first one i got, paso was a superb gentleman, and sent me a second eod. Its all its said to be. A fantastic watch.
Took it on holiday to greece, on a watchprince strap, since the standart one is quite uncomfortable.
One day, as i was looking at it, all of a sudden i realized one of the screws on the back was missing. Also all of the other were very loose. I fastened them with a knife (didnt have a screwdriver at hand)
This isnt something youd notice, if you are wearing it with the normal strap, so i urge everyone to double check their casebacks. Its a pain to loose a screw
-
sure looks nice, but the price is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay out there.
but then again, if i wanted it, id buy it. just bought the ap eod.

I'm green with envy pals! I also want my Nautilus... By the way, is there really a PP Nautilus Jumbo version? Or is it referring to the 43mm version? And may I know if the MBW/MBK PP Nautilus comes with display case back or close case back? Anyone has any pictures of the case backs to share would be great. Thanks.
look Alant. All these things have been discussed a million and a half times allready.
If you use the search button, you will find a world of information

well, since my posts keep being deleted, im hoping my response will last long enough to elaborate my worst thread comment.
It was only based on people bashing each other. Im fully agree that the core of the thread has been very informative and important to our community, as there was a conflict to resolve.
but people slagging of each other, that just turned me off. It has soured the delicate vanilla cream that used to be this forum (could come up with anything better )
and to the adm, constantly deleting my posts. You can bite my shiny metal----------royaloakoffshore :D
People who don't wear Watches
in General Discussion
Posted
Honestly sometimes when im on vacation, i dont wear watches. Im a rather busy guy on a day to day basis, since i run a music and a design company. When im finally free, i really enjoy not knowing what time it is.
Same thing as leaving the cell phone switched off. Its a very nice feeling not going by any schedule once in a while.
