  1. Thanks everyone for giving me tips on using the CapeCod. Thought I'd put it to some real test. So took out wife's 8 year old gen Tag Link. The watch has never been polished/repaired except for a battery change. Before Pics: Spent about 30 min polishing and buffing the watch. Later on based on Lani's advice....washed it with a mild solution of warm water (pics are before washing). Here is the result. Does CapeCod work???? Decide for yourself. The only thing I will say is....the wife is happy and I might get lucky tonight
  2. Thanks Lani....will do this right away.
  3. Go ahead mate... Yes....but trust the factories to fcukup even that
  4. Wow....thanks...dunnno if I this much patience Will give it a shot
  5. I got the CapeCod polishing cloth just now and am going to try it out on a couple of bracelets. Quick question.....at an average...how long does one need to polish with the cloth to get rid of scratches. I know it varies on how deep the sctaches are and perhaps to a great extent the material as well.......but just a rough idea will be helpful. Also, after polishing with capecod....what to do to wipe off the whitish polish etc....just use a lint free cloth to wipe it? Cheers
  6. Yes.....look @ Bergies section......I haven't dealt personally.....but you can find tonnes of reviews/feedback and completely hassle free. Cheers
  7. Am ordering this after CNY. Hopefully the factories can change the screws to black by then. Meanwhile...am loving the Red/Black UN.....even though it's 43mm.....it wears big. The dial is very very well replicated. Glad you did the review Lani.....pushed me into getting this watch....and glad I did
  8. Thanks Lani. The watch will super with a black/dark business jacket. Seems like the strap mid-links in the gen have a brushed look. Josh says that it probably won't reach me in time (by the 6th Feb).....so might order once am back in the last week Feb.
  9. I am leaning towards the black face one.... here is a pic of the gen (plagiarized from Robbie):
  10. Yes....the RG is looking very nice. Plating the rotor shouldn't be a problem.....as it is unlikely the gold will ever wear off from that. If the rotor has UN printed in white...then plating is not an option....if it is engaved...then yes...it can be done. Just asked Josh if this can be delivered to me by the 6th Feb.....am off on a 2 week vacation after that.
  11. Will take some pics tonight and post. Am seriously tempted to order the RG black face one. I know the rotor is screwed up compared to gen and the screws in the srtap midlink should be black.....but still......decisions....decisions.....
  12. Ma soooo tempted to order this one now....and then decide which one i wanna keep....the reb/black one or the gold one. Get the rotor plated and the mid-link screws coated in black pvd.
  13. A quick make-do solution to this could be to get rotor gold plated.....might look much better than the blue/green one
  14. Got the UN yesterday. Will put up some pics soon. The quality of the rep is mindblowing....a job very well done. Love the way the markers on the sub-dial kinda float I love the watch....showed it to the wife....she said it's ok. Pushed her to say more than that....and she says....looks like a toy watch p.s. I got the red/black version. Wondering if the RG version will look classier

  19. Some time back I had put up a thread reg. the Grand watch theft in Singapore. Here is a follow-up on that: INTERPOL, the international police organisation, has posted on its website a picture of a former employee of luxury watch retailer Cortina who has not been seen since $7.9 million worth of luxury watches were discovered missing on Boxing Day. Mr Jerry Ee, 35, is described in the Interpol notice as being about 1.62m tall, weighing 50kg and being conversant in English, Mandarin and Thai. His alleged offence was simply listed as 'theft'. The photograph is said to be a recent one and appears to be taken in one of Cortina's outlets. Mr Ee has been missing since the theft at Cortina's Raffles City outlet - said to be the largest heist in Singapore in recent memory - was discovered on Dec 26 and he was sacked. The Red Notice alert out for him means that any of Interpol's 187 member nations can arrest him on the spot and extradite him to Singapore. Cortina Holdings' general manager Jeremy Lim told The Business Times last week that among the 386 missing timepieces were a Patek Philippe 3939 and a Vacheron Constantin Les Masques, both of which cost about $500,000 each. Mr Lim said that such watches are difficult to offload. 'The theft is unfortunate because these are really good pieces. But being good pieces, they are quite easily tracked down. The moment you send it to any service centre around the world, we'll at least nab the buyer.' Mr Ee had worked with the luxury watch retailer for 41/2 years and rose through the ranks quickly, earning a promotion to senior supervisor 11/2 years ago. He is divorced with two children. His eight-year-old daughter lives with his ex-wife. He has custody of his four-year-old son, who lives with Mr Ee's mother and stepfather.
