  1. The Milgauss is always "nice to have." I have liked the Milgauss for years. I would love to own a late-50's like the one that this is repped after. They will cost you mega bucks, though. If you get one...marr it up a bit. A 50 year old watch should look 50 years old. sv
  2. I never consider something sold, until the money is either in hand or in the bank! Best of luck getting it sold! sv
  3. Your girl's wrist > your wrist hahaha... Nice shots. I have been thinking of getting a Daytona. My only problem is that there is no date. I always look at my watch for the date. sv
  4. Would like to add, that I just did a deal with Andrew and it went through flawlessly! Thanks Andrew!! sv
  5. As a Professional Real Estate agent, I have seen the prices sky rocket. Being less than an hour outside of NYC, there's always a huge demand from the people who are looking to commute. For a few years, the prices were consistantly increasing 20-25% and sometimes more depending upon the area. The prices are still increasing in the area. They're not increasing as fast as they were, though. Pricing has always been an important factor when getting a home sold. There are still bidding wars on homes that are priced well, and in desireable areas. I had eight offers on one of my listings. The buyer fell through, and we put it back on the market. Within two days, I had three more offers. Motivation to sell a home and the price you set are the two most important factors. I know some great agents in all the areas that you guys live in...If you ever need to buy or sell, or just have questions...PM me. I would love to help. sv
  6. Ouch... Why double? Out of principle I would rather someone charge me an extra five dollars (or pounds) and say "I'll cover pp" rather than saying "you cover it." Then...when it's 2.9% for everyone else, why do you charge 5%? I work solely off of commission, being in Real Estate. So I understand people charging more or less for their services. What do you bring to the table that you should charge a fellow board member more? Fast shipping? Does your band not have sharp edges, or make noise? I'm genuinely interested... sv
  7. I saw about a minute of this, when I was flipping around. What was he eating out of that can? Was that dog food? That's all I saw. Nice watch. Fast Eddie has moved up in the world. sv
  8. I *really* like the Cali dial. Classic, and to the point. I like the Alarm, as well. Put me down for one of each. sv
  9. I received my PAM 1950 from Trusty today. The watch looks outstanding. It's a real eye opener. I will have to post pics when I get home. My first impression: The mailman had my package, and I met him at the door. I knew that when he had something for me to sign, that I was in for a good afternoon. I open the package and see the watch. I was shocked how big the watch is. My daily wear is a gen Rolex Datejust, or a rep Day-Date. The PAM was much larger than what I am used to. The band is stiff, but I'm hoping that will soften up over time. If not, I may look into another band. Time will tell. The watch winds very smoothly. Seeing the movement on the back is pretty cool. I try the watch on. It's *much* larger and sportier than my Rolex. I realized that wearing this with a suit everyday isn't something that can be done. It will only be worn on more casual days where a sport coat is worn, and not a suit. It looks like the Rolex will stay as the daily wear. It should look good with a pair of jeans, and a casual shirt. The second hand is very smooth. A guy that I know has a gen Panerai...so the next time I see him we will have to compare and check out. I may not even tell him it's a rep and see if he can guess. He may think it's real, because he knows that I have a few Rolexes and a few Tags that are gen. Thank you Trusty for a solid deal. The watch arrived to my house (NYC area) in about a week. There is one point that I would like to point out. Whatever was used to clean the underside of the crystal, left a few streaks near the second hand-9 o'clock area. It's only noticable in the sunlight, at a bit of a angle. But I did notice it. It does not affect the watch AT ALL. It's just something that I might take care of in the future. I am really happy with my new "sport" watch. (Sport relating to casual style of dress, not for activity...) I will post photos tonight. sv
  10. NJ/NYC guy here... I'm always down for a couple of brews and some watch talk in a dark bar. sv
  11. I don't know any specific dealers. If you are looking to put it on a gen, I would suggest to get a gen bracelet. In my opinion...the clasps on the reps on eBay are the worst. The hallmark is always shitty, and the metal feels thin and cheap. Talk to a local jeweler. I believe retail on a new Oyster band is $495 US. From what you said, it's a little tough to get stuff by you for a good price... Search around, and I'm sure you'll be able to find something. sv
  12. I do have real watches in my collection...but I was wearing my Day-Date a few weeks ago. My friends know that I love Rolexes. I was at a bar, and a guy comes over and shows me his Day-Date and it was beautiful. He said, "I saw that you had a great watch...I wanted to say hi." I was like, "Cool...nice to to meet you." I went on with my business. Then, same night...after the bar, I was in the grocery store with my buddies...and a guy comes up, and said, "Wow...nice watch!" I thanked him and went on with my business. Now, my buddies are thinking I'm wearing a real watch. A little part of me feels guilty not telling them....but, then again, they didn't ask. Maybe I'll just wear the real ones when I'm around them from now on. hahaha... sv

  14. The end links fit the case and lugs well. The band was acutally a really nice band. I just don't think that it looked as nice as I hoped it would have. Meaning.........that band doesn't belong on a Datejust, so it shouldn't be there. If you dig the look, have it it. I bought mine on eBay. Just make sure the endlinks are curved to the correct radius. sv
  15. Thanks...The Datejust, in my opinion, looks a hell of a lot better with the jubilee band on it, rather than the shitty aftermarket band. I got very lucky, knowing a jeweler. Any time he gets a Rolex in, he calls me. In fact, it's very flattering. He has diamond guys in the store and he'll call me over and tell the guy, "Show him...he knows a good thing." hahaha... The diamond guy will look at me weird, then hand me the loupe and diamond. They usually don't have a problem, because I'm in a suit and look professional. It's very kind for my jeweler to call a kid over... Just start saving up. That's what I did. Do a painting job here, play a gig with my guitar there, in a month you can have $1500 saved up, and get yourself a nice watch. The Datejust is a 1990, which I bought about 5 years ago, I think. I believe I paid $1300 for it. My jeweler knows me too well. He said, "Here, try this on." Once I had it on...I couldn't take it off. He said, "Wear it for the weekend, and let me know what you think." That was Friday. Saturday I paid for it. hahaha... sv
  16. I was watching, too. I wrestled just about my entire life...I miss it. NJ just awarded their first time 4-time high school state champ. sv
  17. What better way to start posting, than to post a few pictures. Here's a little "history" on my watch collection. I got into collecting watches when I was about 15. My uncle had an amazing collection. It ranged from simple Tag's to custom Movados to Rolex Presidentials. Awesome. Purely awesome. He always said that you can tell a lot about a person by the watch they wear. So, at the age of 16, I saved up money and bought my first Tag. I spent about $600 on it. I was in heaven. Being in high school and having a kickin' watch was all I needed. One of my good friends' family owned a great jewelry store...and ALWAYS had beautiful watches. I longed for a Rolex. I wore that watch for a long time. Then, when I was a junior in college I bought a Tag S/eL. I had always liked them. I figured I was set. At this point I gave my other Tag to my bro to wear. He was never really into watches that much. (That changed quickly...hahaha...) When I graduated, I decided to buy a Rolex. I went and bought a SS Datejust. It had a jubilee band, and an oyster band. I bought it from my jeweler. I loved it. At the age of 21 and realizing that I was wearing a Rolex was the bendin' end. After that, my jeweler offered me a smoking deal on a SS/14K Oysterquartz Rolex. I couldn't turn it down. They are beautiful watches. The most accurate watch I own. I love that watch. I was thinking of buying a Sub. I was having lunch with my buddy in NY one day. He's a big watch collector as well. He said, "Why don't you get a rep?" I kinda brushed it off...we talked a little about them. (This was about 2 years ago.) I had seen decent reps with automatic movement, but there were always problems with the font on the date wheel, or other things like that. Well...about a year and a half ago, he shows me a good looking rep. I say, "Cool...I'll take it." hahaha... Business has been going well. I come to the time in my life when I want to buy another Rolex. All of my watches have been SS. I want a gold Day-Date. Out with my buddy again he said, "It's tough to switch over from SS to gold...try a rep out first." So...I did, and I like it. My other buddy (who does even BETTER in business, and loves watches) thought it was real and flipped when I told him it wasn't. Now he wants one! hahaha... Here's some crappy pictures. The first is of the gen Datejust with an aftermarket SS president style band that I put on it for about a week. Along with my Sub rep. This is the Day-Date. The date window looks off...but that's due to the angle. Enjoy! sv
