Yes, I suppose that slate gray is somewhat lighter than graphite, but you really have to be picky. I wonder if even an AD would note these distinctions. Also, was it possible to get the black dial with silver subdials with a Swiss 7750 movement? I don't think that Joshua had that combination.

Actually, the graphite dial version comes closest to the original in its colors. As the excellent chrgod review on this forum accurately says, the subdials are "a bit off," not "way off." You really have to look closely to see that they are black and not dark graphite. Much of this is real quibbling. There are a great number of color variations in the dials of the Breitling Evolution.

Are the tops of the BCE pushers blue in color or is this just the usual protective plastic? I suspect it's the plastic, but if so, it would be very difficult to remove. Any suggestions?

I'm getting somewhat confused by the varied topics on this thread, so I'd like to ask a specific question. At least two of the four dealers criticized advertise a Breitling Chronomat Evolution with two different movements: an Asian 7750 and a Swiss 7750. The price difference between the two watches is considerable. Is it being maintained here that the Swiss 7750 in these watches is not a genuine Swiss movement but an Asian copy?

But that isn't true because I received quotations of the lowest price on this watch with both the Asian 7750 movement and the Swiss 7750 movement from one of the "approved" dealers on this thread outside the accused gang of four in the cartel, and the prices were more or less the same as Joshua's. There were also other factors that made Joshua's offerings more attractive, such as the simplicity of clicking on a credit card rather than getting and posting an international money order.

If the four dealers who comprise the cartel are price fixing, wouldn't their prices have to be appreciably higher than the listed dealers who apparently are not involved? I've compared prices on two watches, and I find no such pattern. Yesterday I ordered one on these watches from a cartel dealer. His price was a little higher than some of the approved dealers and a little lower than others, but I've had good experiences with him, and that was the main reason for my choice of dealers.

I finally decided on the graphite dial with black sub-dial Swiss movement version, although the white dial is indeed very impressive. Who is Angus? I've tried the Search function without useful results. Where does one find the models that have dials with hour numbers?

Well, after considering many opinions, I decided on the Swiss, although one prominent dealer on these boards who sells both versions told me that the Swiss was "a rip off." There is so much disagreement that I thought it best to choose the safest path, despite the expense.

What is an "ultimate" BCE? This is not a term that the dealers seem to use on their web sites.

This question didn't get a response when it was posted, but since I'm considering the same watch, I'd also like to know if the loose bezel problem is a common defect in the BCE rep.

In the graphite dial, brown strap model on Joshua's site that I'm considering, the difference between the Asian and Swiss works is $340, so it seems more practical to simply buy the Swiss model than to switch works.

I'm thinking of buying a Chronomat Evolution and I see that there is an approximately $400 difference in price between replicas with Swiss and Asian 7750 movements. What I'm wondering is why there is this great price difference and whether it's really worthwhile spending so much more for the Swiss movement.

I may be unique here! I buy these watches because they look good and I enjoy having them. I could afford (some) of the originals, and I'm certainly not trying to impress anyone. I'm 76 years old.

Why not just tell him the truth—that you participate in several watch forums with people who are expert in these things and they agree that this is a replica?

I sent this seller a question–in German–asking if he was sure that this watch was genuine and stating that I thought it was a replica. Let's see if I get an answer.
