great job ... i'm very jealous!

the crown on mine was very loose from day one and seems poorly made. this just means be extra delicate while screwing and unscrewing your crowns. unless of course you're unscrewing crown royale ... in which you are welcome to be as reckless as you want!

hello, i recently purchased a pre-owned gen 46mm breitling heritage for my brother. the ocean racer strap that it came on has been cut too short for his wrist. therefor i need to find him a used one that has been cut big (at least 7 1/2") but preferably a new one. my local ad only sells the strap and deployment together and it's expensive. please let me know if you have one for sale or if possible, your local ad is willing to sell the strap separately? i'll be happy to pay in advance and even send a reward (to be determined later) if someone is willing to go the distance and purchase the strap for me. i hope i am not asking to much but i've done similar things in the past so i know it's not out of the ordinary ... especially on rwg! once the strap is in hand, i will be selling both the gen cut strap as well as a gen 24mm regular strap and buckle. i am not interested in any trades or rep straps at the moment. please see below a picture reference of the strap in question. thank you for your time and i look forward to hearing back from some of you soon! all the best.

i figured i must have been looking at the wrong auction. congratulations and we all look forward to the wrist shots. by the way ... did you ever get your big pilot 5004? i'd love to see some pics if you've taken any ... feel free to pm me. but please, and i repeat please, do not take pictures on my account if you haven't already. all the best from one island to another!

lol, i told him to put on his hockey face. he really loves watching and playing ... i guess it's in the blood. when he gets a little older, i'll have to send him to canada with the grandparents. the only ice down here is in the frozen margaritas!
-
did you wind it?
-
me too. if it's the auction i'm looking at (low feedback and only one bad picture), i would have been skeptical. hopefully you did a little back and forth with the seller first. keep us posted!

these are actually only available with asian movements. the asian 21j's are available for around $100 while the asian 7750's will run you about $300. i went with the 7750 from king and my strap was purchased on a genuine forum. good luck!

you are looking for a panerai 049 (strap) or 051 (bracelet). simply check the dealer's section ... most of them carry these. they are very nice and chunky watches for women! here's my wife's 049 on an oem gator ...

Need help identifying this 1900's pocket watch ...
wheaton26 replied to wheaton26's topic in Movement Q&A
i want to thank you for the words of wisdom. i have decided to pass on this pocket watch. actually, let me rephrase that ... i offered him $100 for it. he declined as he recently had it serviced for $400. i told him to hang on to it. he found it in his mothers house so it's probably worth more to him than to anyone else. thanks again! -
hello, i have come across an ad in my local newspaper that has intrigued me. the listing is for a gunmetal swiss depose pocket watch from around 1910. it has been recently serviced and appraised at $2,500 and is for sale at $500. please let me know if this is something that i should look into further or simply pass on? here are the pictures that the seller just sent me ... sorry for the quality but this is all he had. any information would be appreciated. the seller also sent me this link to a very similar pocket watch that is called a minute repeater. http://www.bogoff.com/pocket/5968.html i am not really sure what that means but he stated that his is not a minute repeater? i am not a pocket watch collector but as you know, it's always fun to find something antique. especially if it's watch related! thank you for your time and i look forward to hearing back from some of you soon. all the best.

hello rwg. first off, this tip is for breitling's with straps and tang buckles. the blacksteel was the first breitling that i've owned on a strap. i instantly found the strap very uncomfortable as it actually sat off the inside of my wrist about a half an inch. it didn't take long to figure out an easy way to solve this problem. i thought i'd post this tip for anyone else experiencing this same problem. whenever i see people showing off their breitling wristshots or new straps, i always see the buckle strapped on like this ... it's actually much more comfortable and doesn't bunch up if you wear it like this ... wearing it like this is not only more comfortable, but it's easier to strap on and off (especially with the rubber straps) and actually protects the buckle somewhat. feel free to give it a try if you haven't already. i think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the results ... i know i am! all the best.

very cool david ... thanks for the read!

I ordered a UPO, but am not convinced that is what I received ...
wheaton26 replied to wheaton26's topic in The Omega Area
thanks for the comments guys. this watch just isn't doing it for me. in fact, i wasn't even tempted to size the bracelet. i'll probably just post it for sale. all the best! -

ok, here are some comparison pics. the dial looks brown, not black. is that the norm for the upo? if so, i am a little disappointed. i have come to the conclusion that the ar is there and is one sided. in my original post i stated that there was none. whatever the outcome, let me be be the first to say that if this is the upo ... it is far from a 1:1 rep. have a look for yourself. the following pictures were taken under the same lighting and conditions. you be the judge ... upo owners, please let me know the actual color of your dials. thanks again. -
as some of you may or may not know, i have the genuine planet ocean. i just ordered the upo for comparison and it arrived today. from what i've seen and read, i was expecting much more. it may be hard to tell from these pictures but my dial looks brown instead of black (similar to the tobacco panerai dials), the stick markers look ivory when i was expecting a pale green, the lume is poor and there is no ar coating at all ... i mean none. anyway, i took the back off to take pictures so hopefully someone can chime in on what i have. please excuse the lint on the dial ... that is from me. before i contact the dealer can someone please tell me what i have. i'll be happy to answer any questions or take more pictures if that will help. fyi, i took some pictures with the bracelet and some with the rubber strap so don't let that fool you. thanks in advance and i look forward to hearing back from some of you soon!

good job lani ... cause if not, i'm content with my 5002 and there is no reason to purchase this.
-
ya, you're right. the hands seem to be the same size as the 5002 (which are thinner) ... good eye! i would have never noticed this, but now it's bugging me. lol. here's another gen shot for comparison ...

the sunken datewheel will probably not show as much as it's black on black. i'll be picking this one up as well ... thanks for posting!
