i know i shouldn't have.. But i was just expressing the carelessness of the way these sales people treat these wonderful mechanical works of art. Not that they should have been worried about anything, but a coffee table is no place to leave a

On another note... While the woman was showing me the watches on the couch. we got up walked around and she showed me a few more watches on display in the door.. one of which happened to be a pam213 rattrapante. We sit back down with the Pam Rattrapante and the ChronoEVO on the couch. On the table are lying both beautiful watches. At that point my girlfriend calls me and I excuse myself from the couch leaving my briefcase next to the coffeetable. When I hung up the phone the lovely Assistant Laura was no longer on the couch but behind her desk finding something. I tell her that i have to leave and that it had been a pleasure. I give her a customary handshake and say goodbye to her. On my way out I pick up my briefcase next to the coffee table and both watches are in plain view just laying there as before.... Don't get me wrong, i would never steal anything like that, but after walking out of the store, i thought about how easy it could have been to snatch the 2 lovely

SILIX-PRIME does NOT drop ship. My order was delayed one week because one of the watches I had ordered from Silix didn't pass his QC and he was waiting for a new shipment to send me out a better watch. I know this from his personal statements and contact. Silix= Quality Control

Didn't end up dating the girl at the shop.. it was YESTERDAY! haha. Are you from Madrid AMK? I'm not spanish, i'm American, i've been living here for a year and a half now.. Before here.. Perugia, Italy and Paris, France. I'm basically an american globetrekker intrigued to get away from my country.

Her arms certainly weren't hairy.. although i didn't see her armpits. Cute girl. You guys got me thinking that i might just go back there!... (joke).... (sigh)

haha, the dealer was a very cute spanish girl. Dark hair.. brown eyes... and ooooh those pants she was wearing.... Surprised she didn't put the food in my mouth for me.. my girlfriend would kill me though.... If anyone wants her number though.. i DO have it. hahah.. (she gave me her card). The name of the jewelry store is "Chocron Joyeros", Principe de Vergara, 22, 28001, Madrid, SPAIN +34.91.78.10.225. Ask for Laura!

So I know this topic isn't a new one, and probably not interesting to many, but I found it amusing. So today after work, I'm walking around the Salamanca district of Madrid (Madrid's most exclusive central neighborhood). One of my favorite watch storefronts has an amazing looking Panerai Daylight on display in the window. As I'm admiring all of the beautiful watches, one of the sales associates opens the door, comes out, and asks me if I'd be interested in trying anything on in the store. (i was outside without ANY intention of walking into the store). I tell her that i'm not particularly interested in trying anything specific on, but that I wouldn't mind coming in just to see more of the merchandise they have. I happened to be wearing my new, highly polished, Silix-Prime, Pam253 Luminor Regatta Flyback. As I walk into the store I'm greeted by all 4 of the store's employees working at the time! All carrying super enthusiastic smiles on their faces. I begin to look around at some of the display cases, and my eye catches a beautiful Breitling Chronomat Evo with white face and brown aligator strap. As I'm admiring, the woman opens the case, takes out the watch and hands it to me without me even asking! She says.. "please have a seat and try it on." (of course it was in spanish). Of course I do what she asks me, and begin to admire the breitling from every angle while sitting on the supple leather couch. She begins asking me where i'm from, what watches I'm interested in and also mentions the "BEAUTIFUL" panerai on my wrist. She begins talking about Panerai and its exclusive quality and interesting Brand history (heard it all before). While she's talking I try on the Chronomat Evo (of course i was dumb enough to take off my pam253). While my pannie was on the table she asks if she can see it. My mind started to race. What if she notices the thin 12 and 6 font, or if she notices that the 10 on my minute subdial uses isn't sans serif!?? Worst yet, WHAT IF SEES the back and sees the the movement is in fact NOT a caliber opXIX, but is in fact an asian 7750!???? Before i could open my mouth she had already picked up the watch and began to look at it. The first thing she says.. "Que Bonito Reloj!" (what a BEAUTIFUL watch). A wave of relief came over me as i realized the girl probably didn't know the first place to look on my watch to tell that it was fake. She clearly didn't even know the watch was a limited until i pointed it out to her in her panerai catalog (of course at that point i had put my watch back on). I guess the flaws and small details that are so apparent to me wouldn't even cross the mind of a normal AD. And in hindsight, I guess there would be no need to question anyone's watch that's looking at panerais in the store window. All in all, i ended up having a good discussion with the girl about panerai and it's connotation here in spain (which isn't very well know at all!). Towards the middle of the conversation the woman asks me if i'd like a refreshment. Her associate brings me an orange Fanta, a bottle of San Pelligrino water, and a plate of Jamon Serrano with cheese!!(Spanish smoked ham slices with manchego cheese). The only thing missing was a glass of Rioja Wine. haha! I ate the ham and everyone talked to me like I was their best friend. Luckily towards the end of the conversation I received a call from the girlfriend. I hung up and told the friendly sales people that I had to go, but that i would be returning another day to see more of the watches they had to offer. They were more than pleased, and wished me a positive "hasta la proxima se

rolli. How do I rework the notch for the pusher? I'm not an horologist.. but is this a job that my local service shop here in Madrid can do? The sticking of the pusher is quite annoying.

Hey doc. Didn't mean to be misleading with my title when i said "new" updated dial. The watch is a NEW purchase for me, but this version has been available for a while. I was just trying to distinguish which exact version i purchased for all those that might have been wondering. It's the newest "updated" dial face version with mineral crystal and thinner number font. My watch is running +5secs/day which isn't bad at all for me. Here are some pics that should work: profile shot: beauty personified: THE WRIST SHOT:

New Yachtmaster Rolesium (edit: added rubix cube video solve)
plaifender replied to plaifender's topic in The Rolex Area
so here's the pics again. I'm using photobucket to host them, i don't think there should be any more viewing problems! p.s. The bezel on this yachtmaster feels a little funny when turned.. it feels like it's not installed correctly. It's not super loose, but its not easy to turn. It feels like it's catching on teeth of some sort when i turn it. If I kind of lift the bezel a bit while i'm turning there's almost no friction at all. It doesn't seem right.... Any suggestions? So I just got my first order in from Silix Prime. After a highly stressful month of delays concerning Qaulity Control and Chinese customs my watches arrived yesterday. I ordered a Rolex Yachtmaster Rolesium and Pam 253. The Pam is absolutely amazing, feels great and looks better. The only thing i've noticed not up to par on this watch is the 4 o'clock chrono pusher. It sticks when pushed. I can pull it out after it being pushed, but it appears to be an lubrication problem of some sort. Anyone had similar experiences with chrono pannies running seconds at 9? What can I do to stop this chrono pusher from sticking?? Anyways, i took some quick shots yesterday with my camera. I know the photos aren't up to par but when i get a better camera i'll try some really cool shots like i've seen around here. Enjoy the pics: the WRIST shot:

After a relatively long wait, my order from Silix just came in yesterday. It was a Rolex Rolesium and Pam253. Both arrived in GREAT condition and i couldn't be happier. It's not the "perfect" edition but it looks and feels great. Of course the font could be deeper red, and i noticed a SUPER small speck of white dust on the hour marker.... apart from those minor things it looks super authentic in comparison to my friend's father's gen. The bezel feels a little funny when turned.. it feels like it's not installed correctly. It's not super loose, but its not easy to turn. It feels like it's catching on teeth of some sort when i turn it. If I kind of lift the bezel a bit while i'm turning there's almost no friction at all. It doesn't seem right.... Any suggestions? Anyways! Here's some pics of the Rolesium (sorry for the crappy quality of my 3.2mpixel canon): THE WRIST SHOT:

UPDATE: Just recieved the watches yesterday. A record shipping time of 3 days from China to my door in Spain. (although i waited quite long enough the first time when my watches were confiscated by chinese customs...). Super cooperative dealer with a great product. Will post pics this afternoon if i got time.

My story with Silix thus far: At the last minute before placing an order w/Andrew, a friend persuaded me to check out Silix-prime.. (Jay) before placing the order. I was pleasantly surprised by his Silix' prices (in comparison to josh and andrew...). I did some background research using the search on a few of the forums and decided to trust my order to Silix-prime rather than andrew. That was on April 17th, 2007... After placing my order, it basically took Jay 7 days to reply back to me with any word on my order. I wasn't complaining or writing him at all. I wrote him for the first time 6 days and on the 7th day heard back from him saying that one of my watches hadn't passed his Quality control. That was no biggie (as I'm in no rush).. I was just a little frustrated with his super late response, but I can understand; as I'm sure he has a billion emails to read everyday, I'm sure it wasn't on purpose. I've been patiently waiting the last 3 weeks for my watches to arrive sending him an email once a week to make sure everything was in order. He emailed me last Monday(june 28th) to tell me that he had sent the watches and that he would get back to me in 1-2 days with a tracking number... i was ECSTATIC! After not hearing from him about the tracking number.. i emailed him yesterday reminding him to send me the tracking information... Today he promptly and sadly informed me that my watches were CONFISCATED by Chinese customs! So.. now we're back to square one again, he said he's sending out a replacement order ASAP and that i should expect the shipping number soon. I guess i'm just feeling a little uncomfortable having already paid 500 bucks and in almost 4weeks my order hasn't even managed to clear Chinese soil..... bottom line: Nice dealer and great prices. His responses can be a little few and far between but I've had much faster when i email both of his addressed (silix-prime.com & silix-watch.com). Hopefully this story will have a happy ending.... will keep you all informed.

here in spain the product he's referring to is marketed as "KALIA Oxy-Action". not sure about other E.U countries though.

I supposed he was very busy. In fact, I waited 8 days to send my first email. That isnt exactly blowing up his inbox. The last thing id want to do is "add to the mail back-log and make delays for other members". I simply wanted to make sure everything was ok with my order. 8 days just seems a bit long to not respond... I think its quite possible the order could have been inadvertently neglected until i reminded him of it.. In any case, im sure everything will arrive in order fairly soon.
-
Beanboy, I couldn't agree more. The virtues that you mention; i honestly try to personify. I've been very keen on researching and learning as much as I can here on the forums. I chose Silix because of his killer prices as well as his great reputation. For me it's not a question of patience(i'm in no large rush to get the watch). In the recent thread on dealers that don't use "drop-shipping", I don't recall silix being listed as one of the Dealers that conducts a quality control (at least to the knowledge of the members here). Don't get me wrong. I'm VERY pleased to hear that he will be inspecting my order before it goes out. I guess you could say that i was simply.. pleasantly surprised.
-
not to take anything away from silix, but doesn't he drop-ship like the majority of the dealers here? At least that's what i've read in the past. I've also read stories of people getting defective products from him... if he conducts personal QC then there wouldn't ever be defective watches being sent out by him. I trust him so far (only based on his reviews). I hope these watches won't arrive with ANY manufacturing defects...

So, I ordered a Yachtmaster Rolesium and a PAM253 from Silix last wednesday (8days ago). He told me he would send me an email w/tracking number when the watches ship out. When i didn't receive an email from him by tuesday i decided to send him a message just checking to make sure everything was ok. (that was 2 days ago)... About 10 minutes ago Silix finally replies to me after his 8 day hiatus and says this about my watches: "I am sorry for the delay. We had ur watch here, but one did nto pass the quality check. So we have to wait for new ones to come, which should be here in a couple of days. Sorry for keeping u wait. Nice day." -Silix After all the threads and discussions on Quality control these days... how come no one else has heard of silix doing his own "Quality Check"?? Is this a new procedure of his, or could this just be an excuse to cover for the delay in my order...? Opinions/experiences welcome... -ryan
