The lack of AR can be solved by Jakub or Chieftang. A Sub-$100 fix that changes the identity of the watch. The DW can be sourced from Lello, who has some available. The dial is a very good repllication. I don't want to get technical with you about what is wrong with the dial because it will annoy you to the point where you don't want it anymore.
  3. Even verifying the tracking number doesn't mean anything except that I printed a label with the intention of giving it to the shipping company later. When "Billing Information Received" as a tracking result shows for more than one day, I get worried.
  4. NoctiLuma Lume Kit Just bought one for myself...we'll see how it works!
  5. The picture the OP posted references the smaller 41mm Big Bang Aspen, (which is all ceramic / rubber).
  6. Hello and welcome to the forum. I think it's great that you decided to ask up before you went to this "dealer" to purchase it. Let me just tell you beforehand NOT to buy from them. You can look through the "Watch collector galleries" section to look at the items out more reputable dealers carry in stock. I believe currently, no collector carries the all-white (aspen) Big Bang in 41mm or nor the higher-end version in existence. (The version you have pictured is the smaller 41mm) You can buy the lower-priced version, however, but I think it might not be to your liking. For future reference, if you're ever in doubt about buying from an internet dealer, read this: Biggest Ripoff Umbrella on the Internet and it also doesn't hurt to use the "search" feature located on the top right corner of the page. And again, welcome to the community.
  7. Many people have done this in the past only to find out that switching out the movement is the least of their problems. In addition to alligoat's suggestion, you'll have to deal with differential diameters and thicknesses, which may, in turn cause you to buy a new spacer ring, alter the crown placement, change the dial, etc.
  8. Might not be too late, Vic! I can buy the tix from eBay and them have them shipped to my hotel! And don't know if you remember, but are there ticket purchasing kiosks (computerized, not manned) in WDW and other Attractions? If you're like me, I hate lines! And oh yes, my wife also mentioned Medieval times! Thanks again, Vic and 2005Sub!
  9. Hyster, I hope you'll enjoy Orlando as much as I will, because the wife, I, kid and friend are going tomorrow. Initially, I kind of regretted the idea of going on vacation because 1) I'm the type of person who has IMMEDIATE buyer's remorse 2) I've never been there and to Disney-world (I repeatedly called it "disneyland") 3) I have a 15-year old daughter and her friend whom both put together, are a destructive combo and are at that age where they rebel against you in EVERYTHING. But now, is it alot to anticipate? I'm hoping out FL members can throw in some more input (Victoria, you come to mind...) on what ELSE we can do besides Disneyland and Outlet Malls. What can just the wife and I do? And now for the BIGGEST dilemma of all: what watches do I take with me?
  10. You gotta change that bezel!
  11. How about not only banning everyone who joined after October 2007, but what about everyone else who freeloads off the wealth of information provided by the site? Or what about automatically banning everyone who starts their first post with "who has the best..." or "which one should i..." This might come across as fascist, but why not allow entry by limiting access ONLY to the supporters (collectors/staff/paying members) and shun everyone else out (NO SOUP FOR YOU!). Surely that would weed out the scammers and spammers if the staff has contact info on every member.
  12. That I decided to work in said bowling alley in the first place!
  13. FYI, Nothing's waterproof; just water-resistant. How well it is sealed or pressurized (or not) determines it's resistance-ness. Try taking it into the shower with you. Most watches should be able to bear that.
  14. If this is what you're looking for: Then ETA doesn't manufacture any Big Date-specific movements (except for 2896). That is a DD Module (14000) and like I said, the date wheels are impossible to come by. That and you really don't want the stock wheels. Additionally, they will not fit. The spacing between the two numbers are slightly further apart than they are on the gen. So that suggests that they are of a larger diameter.
  15. If you are talking about the newer version (big date), those are impossible to come by. If you're talking about the older version (6-9-12 subdials), try Cousins in the UK or Ofrei and Borel here in the US. If all else fails, I will be having 100 datewheels come in the next couple weeks (NOS; varied ETA movements), so contact me in two weeks.
  16. You're quite the guessor, Victoria! Tell me, how did you know the cat/feisty missus analogy (I have both!). And that is a pen; not a treadmill. Oh, and to pre-empt any future guesses, that is NOT me in the avatar!
  17. Do I seem to be the only member who travelled into the future to take these wristshots???
  18. In the spirit of my other thread I posted a couple days ago about rep PAMs : What bugs you the MOST about rep PAMs?, I decided to reach out to the non-fans (are there any?) of the PAMs and ask this question to everyone else. So, what bugs you about reps, be it Breitling, IWC, Rolex, or everything in between? Is it that's it's made in Shitinerand? Is it the misspellings? Dirt? Blotches? Hair under movements? The crap-tastic lume? What annoys you? And also, what's the one flaw that keeps coming up in future revisions of the same rep model that you seem perplexed as to why they never fix it?
  19. Today I just received an Aquatimer Slevin, but noticed that my inner bezel is slightly misaligned two tick marks and that the "swiss made" is slightly off-centre. I've already dismantled the innards of the watch, but how do I remove the inner bezel? I don't think it comes out from under the watch but rather the top, so I have removed the crystal as well. And now before I decide to remove it, are the bezel ring and teeth two separate pieces? Thanks in advance!
  20. More irony for the soul: We are overconcerned about our movements being accurate within the single-digit SECONDS, but we always happen to be MINUTES late to engagements?
  21. I am thoroughly anal, I'll admit that. But the irony is that after all the gens I own (or have owned), no one gets more wrist time than my reps.
  22. Well how about this? Just when you though you had a perfect rep. And then you see.... And then it just bugs you so much you have to get rid of it?
  23. As much as I love and adore and care for my rep PAMs, flaws bug me. They're like an eyesore on what otherwise be a truly magnificent piece. No, I don't care about spelling or crown thickness or the "floppiness" of the CG lever, or even an inaccurate "open 6"! It's the lug threads. They STRIP! And all too quickly. After a few strap changes, they can just be slid in and I have to make sure I don't leave my watch on sideways too long or the lugs just happen to fall off! I don't want to loctite the thing. Then that defeats the whole purpose. And I tried buying new lug screws. They either just slip right in without screwing it in (same problem as above), or they won't fit properly! I really hope they can rep the new strap changing system a la IWC (or J-series PAMs). Then I will stop being an angry young man (a la Billy Joel, without the drunken SUV stuff) So, what bugs you about the PAMs?
  24. Why not also do this as a precautionary measure for noobs who are buying/selling watches?
  25. Admin is also pretty quick to upgrade your membership after contributing, so you'll be up and selling within hours! I'll be looking forward to the pieces you will have up!
