  1. Nah, that would have confused him even more. I told him anticlockwise.
  2. I want to buy a watch for Mrs. kasigi, but I have no idea what might be suitable...... She doesn't want a huge face, and neither must it be very thick, but it needs to be plain and simple in design. No chrono for her, just a watch which tells the time. But she likes big chunky leather straps (fnarr fnarr). Any suggestions?
  3. The friend I sold my Tag to called today asking me how to adjust the time. Cut a long story short (because it was a long call, took nearly ten minutes) he was trying to pull the crown out and not unscrew it. He said he'd broken a few nails trying to pull the damn thing out. It literally took him ten minutes to realise what I meant by 'unscrew the crown and then pull it out' My, I did chuckle :D
  4. I'd like one for my 6497 PAM005, then it's complete
  5. I fly a fair bit in the UK and if I'm wearing my 005 the detector always goes off. Doesn't bother me and it makes me happier to know that the sensors are pretty sensitive. The time the sensor went off and it was down to some .22 cartridge cases stuck in the treads of my boots was interesting though!
  6. ... and another fine Finepics lume job......
  7. There are a lot of discussions about this already, the most recent one can be found here.
  8. Wow! Lots of advice and lots of things to read there. My problem is space and to start cutting boxes and fitting things to them isn't that practical for me here, but a ready built collapsible fabric box would be ideal as it can be squished down and opened up easily and quickly. Yes, I know an old cardboard box can be broken down etc but wtf, it's only 15 quid! I have some new toys coming soon so expect more pictures
  9. I understand that a replica is a replica, but I'd be prepared to splash out a fair few quid on one which can only be distinguished from the original by unscrewing the back and looking at the movement.
  10. Thanks for the words folks, all taken on board. Regarding a light box, is something as cheap as this any good? Esmarc - In my dreams. Really
  11. I love the plain and simple models, very nice.
  12. The rep isn't perfect, but this is more for me getting the feel of playing around trying to take a decent photograph. Equipment was simple, a small black cushion, some black fabric, a base board under it to keep it flat, a Canon Ixus 400 and a tripod.
  13. Looking at Andrew's posts in the dealer forum in here, he's removed the black bezel version so I suspect he's sold out.
  14. Am I the only person who thinks moon-phase on a watch looks bloody awful?
  15. I tried to make a tunnel type thing that kept a lot of the light out to reduce reflections. Trouble is that a lot of the shots were far too dark to use, which made me think of doing a lume shot.. The first pic is the best of the low light ones and the face is almost reflection free. I'm quite pleased with the lume shot.
  16. Indeed it is good to see you here, The Zigmeister. I've not had any specific dealings with you but I've learnt an awful lot from your posts
  17. Is that why I sometimes just see "IPB Image" in peoples posts? If so, then I'm getting the same problem with Firefox 1.5.0.1
  18. Don't know if anyone will even recognise my name, but I made it over from 'you know where'. The move happened while I was away getting sloshed in Edinburgh so I'm a bit late. If needed I can get a note from my mum
  19. Yup, I'd already noticed the same thing and I think it's a shame - A person is not their post count
  20. Call me cynical, but how convenient. It may well be true, it's even slightly possible that it is but I've seen this sort of thing a number of times before, ie someone does something that pisses off a lot of people very quickly and then a family member posts saying that they're ill. In an extreme case, a brother posted that the forum member had been killed in a car accident. A few months later the original member reappeared from the dead with some equally implausable explanation as to why his 'brother' had lied in the first place. Although relatively new to RWG, I've been around internet forums and communities for enough years and have enough experience to read this and immediately think 'yeah, right'. If I'm wrong, I'll be first in the queue to apologise. I suspect I'm just typing what a lot of people are thinking though.
