  1. Thanks... I am sure it will work out ok. In a strange way, the hastles are the fun of this hobby! I got this one (my first Asian movement) because of The Zigmeister's review a while back saying that the new 7750s were of very good quality once serviced... BTW, The Zigmeister says mine is fixed, and that the GMT doesn't add any additional stress to the movement... extra gear is not a big deal...
  2. Try Vaccuum... He'll get to you faster than The Zigmeister I think.
  3. I have the Chopard. It IS a beautiful rep, as you say, with the usual (but minor) flaws. But, although I have had it since July, I still haven't been able to wear it. MINE came without a c-clamp for one of the pushers, so I had to send it to The Zigmeister. He's had it a week or so. Reports that the main spring was all bent (MAYBE my local watch smith who put on the new c-clamp did that???) and had some other mystery problems that Rob eventually traced to some problems with QC at the factory. Seems that he's got it working (fingers crossed) and I can't wait to get it back. Not a great start, but I am am still optimistic...
  4. Can you explain how, exactly, you applied the epoxy and got the larger screws in?
  5. Thanks. Off to try it now!
  6. I have been meaning to ask for a while... how do you guys fix that dimpled pin anyway?
  7. Thanks, I won't. Funny... I have been looking closely at my gens-- a Carl F. Bucherer and an Ebel and they don't have it. Oh well... I am over it.
  8. EXACTLY! I am sure it is sapphire (tap test, water test)-- or at least pretty sure-- and you've described my problem exactly. Not a huge big deal, but kind of annoying. I was wondering if AR coating or maybe a non-Chinese Sapphire might solve the problem...
  9. Hi again. I have a sapphire crystal for one of my PAMs that looks like it has imperfections that can only be seen in bright sunlight. They look like specs of dust, but they aren't. I THINK that they are inside the crystal. Any ideas?
  10. Hi all.... Just got in a really nice looking bracelet for my 063 from Josh. Looks great, but the link edges are pretty sharp and do dig into my skin a little. Not horrible, but not nice and smooth like my gens. Any tips on how to smooth?

    Pam cyclops

Agreed, but if you can do it, I am in!
  12. That *very nearly* makes you a perfectly transgendered couple!
  13. I was thinking the same. LOVE the black on black, but some day you will want to know the time Blue skill looks bad a@#, but has at least a little contrast. Great looking watch, though.
  14. So are you saying that the gens have NO AR COATING? Just wanting to fully understand...
  15. That's why I said "for what it's worth"... you are most likely correct, sir But, the question remains, what kind of AR is on the gen?
  16. For what it's worth, Joshua says its from a new maker that is very 'immature' and he is not confident of the quality. Also, anyone know if the gen has single, double, or no AR? The one on Joshua's site has no AR.
  17. I'll bite... Where'd you get that? And, can we see inside???
  18. So, I got a really nice honey gator strap from TC, which I have been wearing often with my PAM 063 (which is now fully modded save a new crown guard (any ideas there? But I digress...)). Anyway, the strap is a deployant strap in standard length, but I have been wearing with a buckle. So far so good. Then I get a deployant from Stanley here on RWG. Still all good. But... turns out that while I can wear a standard length strap with a buckle, I can't wear it with a deployant.... it sits off center on my wrist and drives me nuts (hurts, actually). I have a long-length inexpensive black waterproof strap from The Watch Boys that fits the deployant and is very comfortable. So, I guess I need a long. That strap works fine for casual wear, but I need something for work (not when in a suit, more of an upscale biz casual type thing). So, what recommendations do you you all have for a really upscale deployant strap that I can wear when I want the deployant but would otherwise use my honey-gator? Looking forward to your thoughts... Especially yours, V. Thx. John
  19. I dunno... I don't think this is a real judgmental place... did I miss something???
  20. Thanks! PM sent... I'll let you know and post pics when watch is complete....
  21. I have a nearly fully modded PAM 063, but it really needs a new, improved CG. The one I have is too big (tall) and doesn't fit exactly flush to the case. Any ideas???
  22. Sure is. We now need to get someone to start making those CG again...
  23. Both of you have a point. This IS getting old, and having an organized, systematic way of getting feedback on dealers (rather than just reading reviews etc) is a great idea. Sorry if that already exists and I don't know about it, but I love the idea because any one experience is just one experience... but the collective experience tells the story...
