  1. Wait... I am assuming you'll do something other than ipods... say............................... watches!
  2. VERY, VERY nice. I've got one just waiting for this service... but also looking for something other than gold....can you do it? Fantastic! What's the price and turnaround?
  3. This is great. He's the kind of guy who should be here judging from how he's been over at RG...! Welcome, BK!
  4. It's an aftermarket datewheel made by member 'Lello.' You have to have it installed by a good watch-smith.
  5. I posted a similar dilemna a while back... ultimately went with the IWC, and I love it. Get a lello DW and its aweful close to the gen... the watch is also really nicely made and finished. I know what subz means about the strap, but I can only see if I look close or at the under side... when you wear it it is awesome. Can't go wrong with it.
  6. I agree with Takashi, but I prefer the Ingy TI AMG-- I think its more casual...
  7. As I recall, the GMT gear on those was wonky, and some members broke in servicing... mine has been working fine.
  8. Funny. I just came to this thread to ask this same question....
  9. Now that's cool! I've never really likely Rollie's... too common for me... but some of the more unusual pieces have been growing on me. This one is fantastic. Might even consider a gen if you can call these gens.... although (check it out) the prices are nutty!
  10. That's right. But then again, if it's an ETA, and you service it early and regularly, as i believe The Zigmeister said, they should last just as long as a gen with an ETA movement, which is a long time. I have several that have lasted a very long time.

    Next Gen 3717

Thanks, Chief. I searched for DW before but not QC, then after you posted, I found this thread (http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=70564&hl=3717++QC). Thx guys! You saved me a bunch of hassle!

    Next Gen 3717

Hi. Looks like there is a next generation 3717 out-- the one with the double AR-- probably been out a while-- Anyway, the guys on repgeeks are saying its got the right, thin markers. And, I am wondering if it still needs the corrected DW. Do you guys know anythiing about it? And if you do, and you know about the DW, exactly what would I need to get and where to get it. Thanks! J
  13. So, then, i wonder what would be best to do with a std. rep light AR 111h... this looks like light 1 sided AR, but its hard from the pic. What would you do to get closest to this?
  14. I gotta agree with this. What if you let go while winding, does your room turn into one of those tea cup rides with you as the teacup? Does it have a bell alarm like the old clocks with big keys? That just cracks me up. And, more practically, what if you loose the winding key? But, Freddy, thanks a ton for posting this. I LOVE learning about obscure (or not that obscure but just strange) watch trivia. Never would have seen this otherwise. That's why I love this place!
  15. OK, does anyone? Is the 111h one sided or two? Single or double? Just trying to get it right...
  16. Great looking strap, for sure. You'll really enjoy that one for years! But, that's a lot of work for ONE Corona!
  17. Is V really doing these CGs?
  18. I'm a little late to this party... but... this looks AWESOME. I have a lot of watches, but no Rollies. Been starting to get the bug lately and investigating all the mods needed... With work, obviously, you can get a fantastic piece. So, here's the question-- if you don't mind me asking (if you do, don't answer ) -- when all's said and done, what did you spend on this including paying The Zigmeister etc?
  19. Right, the exeception. But I regularly get 36+ hrs (many close to 48 to be honest) on both my asian and swiss reps... but all have been serviced.
  20. That's a good one. I knew there was something bugging me (even though I like it)... and its that "fresh-cut" thing...
  21. It's REALLY, REALLY wierd, Boncovi. But, for some (probably scotch induced) reason I like it a lot.
  22. That's what i was thinking. doing the whole assembly-- CG and Crown-- would finally get this right.
  23. Personally might be interested after seeing a better pic., but only liked that Panerai branding because those boxes were Pear wood. For the carbon fiber one, maybe plain is better. Just my 2 c.
