  3. Hi mate, nice to see a fellow countryman around So, a Pam....aren't we all getting hooked? I'm also getting a Pam, but will have to wait probably a week or more till it arrives to the city "Imbicta" You bought yours here in Portugal? online or street? Let's see how the customs here treat my package....hope they leave it be.... anyways Abra
  4. YEs I'll go for the Asian one...I already decided not to buy the HBB and buy the PAM a 111H is the one I'll have. I think it's a good choice for a 1st pam, simple and very "Pamish" and buying the asian really saves you a LOT of money and all I read showed it is at least as reliable as the swiss.... I'll post pics when I get it....can't wait cheers
  5. hmmm..ok...though it's strange that what was allowed a couple of months ago and was part of the "pack" of a member is now no more....anyways, I was thinking of becoming a suporter anyway... thks for the help Best Regards

  8. Hi, I was looking for some tutorials I remember reading here about on how to disassemble movements, and other repair tutorials...now I can't find them...and one that I did it said I didi not have permission to read it...!! So, what is the prblm? can anyone tell me? I already read them a couple of months ago and I had permission then.... also, if they are no more, can anyone point me to some tutorials on how to repair watches? Thks in advance for all the help Best Regards
  9. thks for the info mate....I had some idea that the asian had gotten better but as the price diference is still high (the swiss higher) I was a bit confused.. cheers
  10. ...I tryed the wiki feature but could not find any of this info...just wanted to know the major diferences between the asian ETA unitas, the swiss unitas...is there really a big diference in quality terms? thks Best Regards
  11. The swiss Unitas 6497, the asian ETA Unitas 6497 or the lemania handwind one? I was thinking of buying a HBB, but the last couple of days I just can't stop of thinking in the Panerais and how good they would look So I've been looking for one and I'd like a handwind one, but Wich is the better movement of the three I told you? Thks in advance Best Regards
  12. Here is my pic for today...not a replica per se...still the unknown tao....hope you don't mind the after effects Cheers
  13. Welcome aboard mate nice to see more portuguese around here... cheers
  14. Well...better late than never to welcome a fellow countryman Bem vindo... cheers
  15. Well, it must be, because if I sit and think rationally about the watch I will not find it actractive, far from it, but the truth is that.... I DO !!! It must be some caveman gene still messing with my head, but the truth is that I will have to buy one in the not far future...
  16. I was never a fan of panerais...good watches, famous, etc, but they quite never got my attention that much until....this past couple of weeks... I've seen a lot of pics of Pan's on wrists...and they do look awsome when on the wrist, I mean, seing them in a exibit, or table or whatever doesn't make me wanna buy them, but when I see them on someone else's wrist I can only think...."I HAVE TO HAVE ONE!!!" I donm't know why but I must admit that they do look stunning when on a wrist... well....just some thoughts I thought I'd share... cheers
  17. Hi, I bought this watch around a year ago....I saw it at ebay and I liked it so I decided to buy it. it was around
  18. welcome mate. As for the question.... You can find pics of reps in the photografy section here in the forum, but they are mostly from other members watches, mind you, they are REALLY good pics, but not he "official ones" from members shops...those official ones, I only found them with the logos.... Maybe some of the more expert members Might help you... cheers
  19. beautifull watch...congrats mate
  20. Well, this is an interesting post... I hate bling, and do prefer "quieter" watches...classic style...but...today I'm buying a HBB .... I just can't resist it, I don't know why but I just have to have it...the thing is I'm thinking all the time how can I make it smaller hehe, I mean, I usually wear my shirts with the sleves up and although I'm a big guy (1,85m height and around 85 Kgs), I know it will show a mile away that big watch in my wrist...but ....I have to have it!!!! I allways try to be discreet about my watch but I do recognize that from time to time I do rotate the face so that it sits in the center of my wrist, nothing to to with showing the watch just that it feels weird when the major portion of the watch wheight is "hanging" in the side of my wrist so I rotate it I'll post some pics when I get the HBB so you guys see it mid you, it will be the lite version...I might send it for AR later...let's see... cheers
  21. Will do, you can be sure
  22. yes, the I would love to be able to wear it...it does deserve to be used! I love it...now to save some money to restore it:) the thing is I also have a 1972 breitling datora that belonged to my father and he gave it to me, but alos need some restoration work..not as much as this one...but I have to restore one at a time... well...at least they are great projects and when they are done they'll look great...well, they already look...at least to me...
  23. wow....thks for all the nice comments yes, I will make sure that restauration will not be a replace for new kind of thing, just want to clean it as much as I can without destroying all the character that the ae gives it
  24. thks for the comments:) yes I will surely restore it, and it is worth much more than any money, at least to me....it has a grwat sentimental value:) She'll be extactic when it is done, and I'll post some pics after
  25. Hi, my grandmother knows I'm a huge watch fan, so she gave me this old pocket watch Longines that belonged to my grandfather, it's silver...it does need a great amount of restauration but it is worth it I think...hope you like the pics Cheers
