  1. The difference being, this is a real ETA and its oiled without lumps of crap in it that may be in the asian 7750.

sorry i dont really see your point...

Maybe I did not understand. So it is oiled. I thought it wasn't, as you stated 'unserviced'. sorry. Than it's a great deal!!

  2. Hmmm... an unserviced ETA 7750...I don't see the difference with the unserviced new Asian 7750 (28,800).

I can't justify buying a $300 movement which needs to be serviced (+ $200) in order to not encounter the same problems one could have with a new Asian 7750.....

  3. Great review... I always like reading your posts as you are like me; a huge Breitling fan.

I myself however would have gone for the SS version as it is the same as the 1st gen. And what I can tell from your review, it's still available and has a better overal finish. Also the new Breitling Skyland shows remarkably much resemblance with the SS Avenger rep.

  4. 2. The crown I'm having a bit of trouble with to screw in and will be leaving it like this, I'm not planning on scuba diving/showering with it anyway :)

Well, you know I'm extremely picky but this is something that even you shouldn't accept. We're talking about a $300 watch. It looks terrible.

  5. Doesn't anybody care about the missing type and serial number??????

Also the case back engravings on the rep look etched......what somehow reminds me of the 4th gen PO with the same sort of 'Planet Ocean' etching on the back.

I could live with the lack of a type and serial number but not with the etching. I hope they'll fix it when/ if a next generation comes out!!

  6. It must be easier? Why? The Monaco uses an ETA 2894 movement, a movement that has seconds at 3. A movement that NO REPLICA OF exists.

The Monaco will never be accurately replicated until someone comes up with a movement that works like a 2894.

Well, there may be no replica of the ETA 2894 but they recently modified the Asian 7750 to have running seconds at 3 (Look at the new Breitling 6.75). So the Monaco could very well be replicated with chronograph function.

  7. BTW, the biggest issue with this rep is the word Yachymeter on the bezel. YECH!

Well andreww... you and me are real critics. Let me tell you, I bought this particular watch from Narikaa (the one from the pics). I modded the pearl with a razor and it looks damn good on my girl's wrist. IMO this isn't a guy's watch. It only measures 38mm in diameter. Girls don't see/ care about small flaws.

This watch is a good buy for the buck. Besides the mineral crystal and the movement this watch is at the same level, if not better, than my ultimate BCE when it comes to finish and feel.
