  1. I love adult swim, although here in El Salvador adult swim sucks! and I really mean it! The only 3 descent cartoons we get from the US are Robot Chicken, Harvey B.M A.A.L, & the Venture Bros. - Then we only get pure crap from Canada like "Homemade movies", "Bromwell high", etc. :(

I used to like DeGrassi High, when I was younger. And Kids and the Hall! Some Canadian programming is very good, but my boyfriend (a Canuck) says not a lot of Canadians watch their own shows. :)

I miss the U.S... Thankfully I'm headed back next year for College, Huah! :D

Very nice! You might stand a decent chance of getting your watches noticed and more importantly, appreciated. ;)

(Sorry if that sounded rude -- I know very little about El Salvador. I know more about Nicaragua and Guatemala. Apparently, I heard that Guatemala has the largest Porsche dealership per capita in the Americas? On RWI)

I know, but the beauty of this website is that they don't stop just there, you even have Erin from E-surance  - The 'Toons' Section is just the tip of the Iceberg on that website, it has tons of stuff, but what makes this website so sweet is the comments left by the users, friggin' hilarious!

Is there anything hotter than seeing a sextoon where George Jetson is doing Rosie the robot? Other than Fred and Wilma, of course.

  2. Mr. Jeremy Clarkson's antics aside, getting back to watches in movies:

Saw 3:10 to Yuma, and I was wrong. As apparently in the original, there is of course frequent sighting of a beautiful pocket watch, owned by the top Pinkerton official.

At one point in the film, the pocket watch gets a full 2 second cameo where I excitedly leant forward to see the marque (startling the two frat boys I was seated next to -- hehe, I wonder what they thought of that).

    S.......... & H........, I believe were the initials.

Any of you watch experts, perhaps Nanuq who loves older timepieces given that famous photo ;), might have a clue which marque that is?

I want to say the last name is H for "Hamilton", as in the famous American watch company, but maybe that's a forced mind association.

...the film itself was good. Watchable (pun intended). And it certainly is a good modern effort at the Western genre (never a fave of mine). It's not all I heard it was on Charlie Rose though. Still, good effort. Worth watching. B+

  3. Dude, who hasn't clicked on Sextoons at least once in their internet life? And why stop at just childhood cartoons!

Check this out, obviously not at work:

    http://www.mamut.net/homepages/Netherlands...enshumor/27.gif

P.S.: Adult Swim programming on the Cartoon Network is amazing for parodying beloved childhood American cartoons and general 1980s cultural icons. From "Family Guy", "Robot Chicken" and especially "Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law", it's all one big naughty poke in the eye at Hannah Barbera and Friends. I rarely miss that hour block at night.

    ROOKAH!

  4. Wow... I am amazed by the response this thread has received! :)

You shouldn't be. This was a magnificent thread idea, and I'm surprised it hadn't been done as comprehensively (or at all?) before!

Thanks for your Air-King photo, too. It was the only reason I got it from Jay/Silix. I get so many watch ideas from this forum, if I had gotten nothing else in terms of info, it would've been worth the VIP upgrade ALONE.

  5. Damn~ V....those are some dings right there~ LOL

HMMM. Is this said as in, "Oh come Vic, stop being the drama queen. They ain't nuttin'!" OR "Wow, you were so right, sorry we doubt ya!"

I'll take it was a bit of both. ;)

I have one major scratches on my PO bracelet....

Wow, those are some deep scratches, Jiro...but on to the story.

She gave me a look and as soon as I saw him doing that.....I snapped.....I'm no touch guy or anything but when it's need to be done, I get it done....

After knocking this asshat on the floor, I saw this major scratches on my bracelet......which made me even more MAD!!!!!!!!!!

But by that time, security came and kicked us all out from the club......

I probably can get this scratches out with a cape cod but I'm leaving it like this to show my fiancee whenever she doesn't listen to me.....

"Look what I've done to my watch to protect you!!!!".....then she listens.......works every damn time~ hehehe

LOVE IT, just fantastic. This a MAN right there. Not that I advocate bad boy behaviour, but standing up for your lady is the single-most important thing any man who loves, can do. Bar none.

I would've bailed you out of gaol myself, baby! Hocked the Davidsen Fiddy in a sec!

As for the scratches, as the old saying goes, "You should see the other guy."

Wow. I'm guessing you need some serious Cape Cod elbow grease, or just leave it there as evidence of your testosteronal fortitude.

Thanks for the story! And keep reminding her of it. :)

  6. hey TJ... reading up opn Pugs instructions for photo shoots and posting on the forum.. maybe by wed. i can post my first wrist check

OMG, OMG! I personally can't wait, Lanikai. I've lusted after you, I mean!, wondered about your hands for a while. :)

Just please, Lord, don't tell me you look like this:

    iwcyz4.jpg

Because the wedding is off if you have prison ring tats.

  7. I'm pretty sure you don't want to go down this road...

TT, I pride myself on knowing just about everything culturally relevant in several countries...and if I didn't get the Katzenmoyer twins reference, I'm sure half the board didn't either. :)

HOWEVER, yes, it's understood that it was some kind of slam. But it's nice to see that TWP issued an immediate and gracious apology.

All is well in Mudville! Casey coming up to bat. :p

  8. (ubi's daytonas excluded)

Dude, where IS Ubi?? Don't tell me having a girl on the forum scared him off like a woman hitching her skirts up at a mouse? ;)

(Seriously, I hope all is okay. I am reminded I asked about AWOL RWGers and included him, and Euno. Well, we got back the latter...at a horrible "cost". Hoping Ubi comes back soon)

@TTC: Awesome PO, darling! I have the pumpkin version, bought second-hand, but the person did so from Jay too. Great watch, looks fantastic, keeps great time!

  9. uh folks...

the fiddy has 26mm lugs and takes a 26mm strap. AFAIK there is not and never has been a 26mm panerai bracelet.

24mm for the 44mm pams and 22mm for the 40mm.

you not only have not seen it but probably never will ;)

Well, if it isn't Mr. or Miss Logical raining on our SS bracelet parade!!

    ;)

Just kidding. Sure, everyone knows that. But I think what the original poster meant was have you guys ever seen a Fiddy on some kind of SS bracelet -- maybe an adapted one, or perhaps some metalsmith made an one-off, rather like GPF Dep-Mod buckles are done.

TTBOMK, that bracelet doesn't exist. But SSsurfer comes back today, and if there is one person who would know, it is he. B)

  10. i would kill for seeing this combo B)

And I would become Dr. Crippen or Lizzy Borden after seeing that combo.

anyway, pams are made for leather-lovers. This isnt even questionable although I am a pam bracelet lover myself :p

Having just gotten a Panerai bracelet, I neither hate the metal like I thought I would, but nah, it's just not for my Panerais either.

And yes, Fiddy on SS. EWWWW. I dare you to post that on Risti! Double-dog dare you! ;)

  11. I agree with you about that film, nothing new at all.

I had this strange feeling of having seen it a thousand times before.

That was exactly my impression. First hour showed promise. Second hour didn't deliver.

The plot was gimmicky, but as the film wore on, and Ryan Gosling still continued to wipe his face like flies were swarming around it (WTF), and Hopkins continued to be a shadow of his previously talented Welsh self (what is THAT quasi-Irish accent he affects in American films??), I just couldn't buy into its ludicrous ending.

I can imagine that for people who aren't used to the American legal system, it might be more gripping and less confusing. But for me, it was like Law & Order meets "Mr. Brooks" meets Hannibal Lechter. :p

EDIT: Since it's a film thread, a few quick hits from me about recent "movies" I've seen.

Superbad - Delightful. No watch sightings. B+

The Bourne Ultimatum - Excellent action, but like I said above, it's like I've seen it all before. TAG HEUER! B

Mr. Bean's Holiday - It's hard to see a film with one's mother, so we chose this. What a mistake. No watch sightings... D

The Nanny Diaries - Vaguely like an extended episode of Sex & The City (which I loved). But it blowed chunks since as ever, the richies are the baddies. I like ScarJo, but the gal CANNOT act. PANERAI sighting in the first 10 mins!! C-

Death Sentence - I love Kevin Bacon, but I walked out after minute 50 because it wasn't interesting...he does wear a nice watch, but I couldn't place it. C

Becoming Jane - No. Just no. And I love Jane Austen, liked Anne Hathaway in TDWP too. Watch Keira in Pride & Prejudice instead. There was a nice Grandfather clock sighting... C-

(Off to watch 3:10 to Yuma. I'm afraid I won't see any watches on these gunslingers, and though I cannot stand Westerns, I like good films. And they say this is amongst the best of the year)

  12. I actually wear it on my left all the time . The only time you will find me wearing watches on my right, just for picture taking. I have a really bad ganglion cyst that makes it uncomfortable to wear a watch on my right for any length of time.

    Oh darling, I'm sorry. :(

It's an aesthetic concern, but I heard that sometimes causes pain and restricts movement, if really prominent. I'm guessing Neurosurgery won't be your speciality...

I agree with you statements about converting it though but then I would have a wrist dagger and be forced to wear it on my right :p

In compensation, you have the nicest pair of male hands on the board.

And there are a lot of really nice hands on this board (comparing them to Risti's wrist-checks, no contest. This forum must have a lot of handsome guys!).

  13. I just got back from Bavaria (great party) and found a parcel from PT waiting for me so a photo comparison

    DSC00120.jpg

That is a SICKLY SWEET watch, FxrAndy. It looks like you've been wearing a Breitling all your life. In short, you and the SFSO were meant for each other!

Oh dear. Will you go off Panerai for the next month?? I fear so. Never mind.

Wear it in good health, Du Bayer! :)

  14. When you're a watch collector, you have to expect some misfortune to befall one of your watches, some day.

Unless one keeps a watch wrapped up in cling film, if you put a watch on your wrist, chances are excellent you'll ding, bang, scratch, scuff, knock or on rare festive occasion, ruin your watch with a dremel tool after having had half a bottle of Goldschl

  15. PS: How about a wrist shot?

This is the clincher for me, Sportice.

Wearing a bling, gold, or OTT watch all depends on the build/personality of the person.

Right now, I would have to disagree with the majority and say that, IMHO, is an OTT watch.

But then, the only gold-type Breitling I have ever liked so far, has been exactly the one By-Tor has shown. And Hoochman looks good with his.

    @CY0811: My thoughts too.

  16. I am so taken with the (non-working) Rolex Air-King by Silix that I'm considering buying a gen. Not that I would ever buy from Fleabay, but I went to scope out the prices.

    Item number: 170149458188

    Current bid: US $1,409.00

    akfacerc7.jpg

    akhologrammefi8.jpg

Come on, that is a Guangzhou special, surely??

  17. The amusing thing is that the band sometimes say it is and sometimes say it isn't, depending by whom they're being interviewed. Here's a VH1 version:

    Just finished watching it.

    1) Dave Fenton has aged beautifully.

2 ) "Packing the hog", hee.

    3) I wonder if there is a female version of this song, no doubt by Tracy Chapman. Because we don't exactly turn Japanese. We look like we're drowning. :cool2:

  18. Someone on Biker Build-off once had a really extreme form of this, (it's not mine till it's scuffed up) almost to the point of OCD, and any time they got anything new, they would throw it on the floor so it would no longer be pristine, and they didn't have to worry about getting it scuffed up anymore. While I can understand their logic, personally, I think that's taking things a bit far

    Da's crazy. :)

Seriously, I'm just as OCD about my stuff only in reverse. I have instruction manuals around of electronics I don't even own any more -- some from gulp, almost 2 decades ago! (Like the mini-white portable TV I got when I was a kid). A Minolta camera I got 14 years ago still is in its original container, and has plastic all over it. It looks MINT.

I think I'm like this because both my scientist/absent-minded professor parents are careless people, to the point of vagueness. They ding, scratch, bang, and clunk, not to mention lose..., anything they get within minutes of acquiring it. It's ennervating.

V: You could always buy a new PAM (on the cheap, of course ;) ) and swap the crystals over until you can either repair yours, or aquire a sapphire replacement :)

TeeJay, I went the diamond paste route, and bought some on *bay! :tu:

I couldn't find the TZ directed 3.0/1.4 microns, and just got the 3.5 micron diamond paste. Do you think I'll be all right?

Welcome to the forum, Machote. Am I right in presuming your nickname is Spanish for "Big macho man"? Interesting, if so. :)

    Regards,
