  1. Can't say, Steve (not that I'm an expert). But your url doesn't link. I've noticed this happen many times here, and someone once posted a fix.

If that person or someone who knows could post how to link to *bay urls, we'd appreciate it. :)

EDIT: I see mods moved the topic and took out the url, anyway. So that answers my question. I'll just put the ID in future.

  2. Oh yes, one exception: a student in the private electronics engineering school where I teach came dressed in a 'Jihad!' tee-shirt this morning.

Yeah, well, I told you not to go dressed as Betsy Ross, but did you listen?? Did you cocoa!

P.S.: I'm so sorry, Ryyannon. If there's one consolation in this world, is that idiots are universal.

@Ryyannon below: Continued "sorries" from me. And ethernet hugs. I'm off to start writing the Caper. Talk to you later.

  3. In addition to the victims and heros of 9/11, let's also remember the victims of terrorism in Madrid, London, Bali, Iraq, and wherever fanatics believe that their extremist views trump peoples' rights to live their lives in peace.

    God bless too.

But this is the 9/11 thread, for a specific purpose. We're not remembering the atrocities at Pearl Harbour either, which also seared American hearts for a long time.

@FxrAndy: Thanks for your (pl.) and your families' sacrifice. I had a cousin in Afghanistan until last year, having been posted there immediately after Sandhurst.

  4. Freedom Tower is not the Twin Towers....yes they are rebuilding, but the whole rebuilding process has been a disaster....so yes, what's being done is less, not more....

One can really tell we're dealing with Americans, when they think 6 years is too much time, or partly a wasted effort on something of such enormity as this rebuilding.

The Italians have been trying to deal with the Venice sinking problem intensively for at least 100 years, and still the committees only argue...

Anyway, this is not meant as a diss for any people. But patience, my friends, yes? Rome wasn't built on a molehill.

  5. I have a nearly fully modded PAM 063, but it really needs a new, improved CG. The one I have is too big (tall) and doesn't fit exactly flush to the case. Any ideas???

Yes. Contact "Taiji" on RWI. He sold me a polished crown guard which fits beautifully in the 3 PAMs I installed it on (the only ones I've tried, but they were a PAM 112, PAM 111, and PAM 199).

Maybe he can source you another, in case no one here can.

EDIT: OH! Maxmsu is selling two here, cheaper than Taiji's.

I was going to get his movement, and though he kindly tried to help me, I just didn't feel comfortable with stems, crowns, and movements, yet.

  6. Ireland is even greener still. It's the rain. :D

    Indeed. ;)

    columbiariveroregonjb1.jpg

That's Columbia River, Oregon, in the great Pacific Northwest of America. Not my photo, and I've only been to Washington State, but it looks very beautiful.

HOWEVER, at the risk of bringing down the wrath of the Mighty Lanikai, and the wonderful Irish RWGers, I find Hawaii and Ireland a TOUCH too green. England's is about right. The Lake District especially.

  7. "As is our plumbing and heating."

But I'm sure he didn't mention that.

    "And our teeth"!

Honestly, though, what's the deal with the teeth? It's not as bad as all that. And whenever I hear Americans being called fatties by us (which has reached fever pitch proportions in the past decade, but most especially after Hurricane Katrina), I remember that Americans have always derided us for our teeth. I have great teeth okay! ;)

By the way, just to make my comment fair and balanced, when Consuelo did indeed become Duchess of Marlborough, she was chosen as one of the Court Ladies to escort Queen Alexandra to her coronation. I believe there were only 8 ladies given this EXTREME honour, and one was an American.

We British are nothing if not fair. :)

  8. Yes, the grass is always greener. However, I think the grass in the Cotswolds literally is greener...

    :)

It is. I grew up nearby. :)

Especially during the time you went, when men all over are playing in their cricket whites, which you can see below you as you fly into Heathrow or Gatwick.

Every time I see that as we approach, I get a lump so large in my throat, it hurts. It's the little things you miss. Like PG Tips and Richard & Judy, which sounds twee, but there you are...

I'll c/p the two photos I liked best in a second, Gio.

...as Puggy said, tourists have practically the same "eye" when shooting things which to them is astounding (and they are!), but to those used to it, are a little more prosaic because of custom.

But I have never been to the Blackfriars (!), and I just love the photo of this pizza. For the record, though it's become a chain, Pino's is pretty good too. :)

  9. From time to time paranoia gets to me and I stop thinking rationally. :bangin: I remember reading about burglaries in our neighborhood

That's what you get for living with the drugged-out hippies in Christiania!

And as women go, they are practical and tidy, she threw out a lot of stuff that she figured had gone overdue, including those two cans of Minestrone, that felt dried out.... :whistling: I love my wife...

    :o

I bet you you were not as calm then, as you seem about the whole thing now. I would've been devastated...why didn't you tell her what was inside, though??

  10. Hi everybody, I am trying to get my girlfriend a watch but it is really hard to get any info from King on this watch.

What I am wondering is if there is anyone that have bought this model from her and can tell me that the model in the pictures is the lady version (22mm)? When I ask King I get replies like:

    "

    hi,friend:

is automatic .and is lady size price, and men is 40mm.lady is 22mm size

    "

Hehe, so you must understand that it is a bit hard to get the proper information from her..

Hence why I've never bought from her or Ruby (although I'm sure they're fine. It's just a quirk of mine).

For these types of watches, I stick to the services of Andrew. His Connie range seems to be from 39/38mm (I've seen both) for the male version, 22.5mm for the female. The watch you pictured may or may not have MOP, but he has both versions, including the blinged out ones.

    http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?main...products_id=395

    MOVEMENT: Jap Quartz

    CASE DIAMETER: 22.5mm

    THICKNESS: 9mm

    DIAL COLOR: White Dial

    CASE MATERIAL: Stainless Steel 316L

BRACELET: Stainless Steel 316L Deployant Bracelet

    FRONT GLASS: Synthetic Sapphire

BACK GLASS: Solid signed Case Back

    BEZEL: Engraved Roman numerals Bezel

    HACK MOVEMENT:

    CLASP TYPE: Deployant Clasp

    DATE INDICATOR: At 3:00 position"

Purists don't like quartz movements, but I've found that Quartz watches actually last a lot longer than Asian automatics. 2-5 on average for me. However, it's your call. Seems to me King's version is more complete.

The Connie is not on my radar, especially the tiny ladies version, but certainly it is a gorgeous watch any woman would love to receive. Good luck. :)

  11. Thanks for the pics VB, that Crazy Horse with the black stitching is actually my next buy (I have the white stitch version on my Marine Diver).

I think his Naturale is best with white stitching, and his Crazy Horse with black, but variety is certainly the spice of life. :)

    Also, nice nails!

Hey! Thanks a lot, I appreciate that, All-Zen. I'm rather vain about my hands. *g*

(Tragedy struck yesterday when my ring finger nail broke in two. Ah well. 2 weeks and it'll be back to normal)

  12. Thanks for the tip, that works.

As I said, I don't have any problems with the ads themselves, though it would be nice as a VIP to be able to get rid of them entirely -- but neither am I really interested in seeing those half-clad women on RWG.

(I also click away during the Girls Gone Wild ads...)

    So:

Using Firefox, I went to Tools>Options>Content>On "Load Images Automatically" if it's ticked>Added http://ads.rwg.cc/>Blocked

Though it still says "Find The Sexiest Women In Miami!" etc. for me, at least I don't see the images anymore. It's just blank where the pics of the hos should be.

Hope it works for you work-place guys, especially, too.

  13. (No need to thank me. Today has been very therapeutic for me on RWG, and I thank you for providing me the chance to give back to our community, in some small way)

Speaking of which, since something strange happened earlier to my account -- I'm going to give my computer a thorough cleaning to see if there is no adware junk or funny business happening to it.

This usually takes a while, even given my super fast RAM, so the Strap Caper Part 4 might be delayed Tuesday.

Sorry about that guys. Try to be back soon.

  14. What I am asking for is just a little understanding and cooperation. Many loyalist will tell you that my communiacation and service are superb. I ask that everyone keep this in mind, while I may not respond to your email/pms as quickly as in the past I will respond.

I can only speak for my own experiences with TWP, but they have been amongst the most rewarding rep watch collecting transactions. Quick PMs/emails is not the half of it -- cordial, friendly, knowledgeable, and above all, honest.

If he doesn't have something, he tells you straight off.

If something goes wrong, he fixes it.

If there is a delay, he apprises you of any problems, which given his enormously busy profession, is a minor miracle in my eyes.

I spread my rep watch collecting love all around, but I will tell you that TWP is more than just a collector amongst us: he's a true gentleman.

    Picture006.jpg

Well today has been a great day. Our son went to see a child psychologist and she believe that our son suffers from Impulsive Control Disorder just like daddy. AHHH, a sigh of relief. While the next few years may be tough or son should be back to normal by grade school. You cannot imagine how relieved we were to find out that he was misdiagnosed with Autism. While we are not out of the shed yet, i mean his condition can led to worse impulses such as killing little game animals, burning houses down, or self mutilation. But these cases are few and far between. I am happy that i can start concentration back on watches again.

A blessed day...I'm so relieved for you and your wife, and sons, that I can't ever express the happy surprise I felt as I read this.

    Good luck, TWP.

  15. I'm considering ordering a non-branded Titanium 177 Pam from Davidsen (anyone have one of these?).

I want to wear it with one of my thick, Crazy Horse straps from Greg Stevens but I heard that thicker straps don't fit on DSN's lugs. Is this true?

I can't speak for the 177h, but my Greg Crazy Horse fits just fine on my DSN PAM 112. Photo available later.

LATER: As you can see, there's plenty of space in the lug casing. (130/80, 24/24)

Freebie wrist-check for you. Sorry about the poor lighting in our study.

  16. Yes, it was me all right...otherwise known as 'Mr. 50%', which was actually pretty generous. A lot of girls got even less....

Ah, but you forget my sexy, Liz Hurley accent! I mean, sheeeeah, that's gotta be worth a least two sous extra.

Ah, those were the days: a new 'husband' (or two or three) every night: as the French say, 'Vive l'amour!' eh Miss Barrett?

Oh Ryyannon, you know you're the Mac Daddy of RWG! :pimp:

EDIT: Drat. I've looked everywhere for that photo just now. Can't find it. And once, I posted a .wav of me pronouncing "Aaron" since Stephane asked for a pronunciation guide with "British" English, "American" English, and Hebrew accents. The .wav I guess expired, because it's not hosted anymore...

  17. Well, after a little cool off period I think Pug is mostly correct. I was not so much angry at her, but angry at myself for not knowing what she would like. Although the idea was noble, the process was flawed.

SO, todays lunch hour was spent at C.J Charles Jewelers in LaJolla ordering a two tone Cartier Santos. Although I wasnt able to get it to her today, she will be pleasantly surprised on Wednesday when the jeweler has it delivered to her work with a dozen roses.

Just when you thought this world was a stinking pile of baby nappy refuse, filled with vulture vomit and a morass of pain and inequity, there comes a moment like this to make you think:

    GOD, THIS WORLD ROCKS.

    You're awesome, Carlsbadrolex!

Maybe there is hope for me getting a little something, something after all!!!

CBR, I swear to you I will personally collect a whip-round amongst all the members if she doesn't. But only after I slap her, like Joan Collins!

  18. then let's see the next wrist shot an ankle shot with stilettos and a PAM .. i do have a ankle fetish and adore  straps on an ankle..

    :o

Well, I didn't mean I was a lady of the night, either!

are we on the right forum :whistling:

Would that be the forum where you can find sexy singles in Miami? ;)

P.S.: One time, in band camp, I had a friend take a photo of me wearing black pipe-leg jeans, black stilettos, a black leather Eisenhower jacket, lighting up a fag as I leant against the wall (near Stringfellows). OH GOD I LOVE THAT PHOTO OF ME! And I don't even smoke, but I was smokin'!

EDIT: I got Ryyannon's permission to post the photo, since, you guessed it he was "the friend".

    fromagesuv2.jpg

Yeah, I was a war bride in France. I picked up my husband opposite the fromages shop.
