  1. Som Tam Thai, Prik haa met, Khow nieow duai, pak jaan nung, Gai yang noy

Sigh. Was on the phone just now, and yet again my boyfriend said he doesn't like sushi, which I adore. What are the chances these Thai savouries will be to his taste?

And to answer the question, since I'm working out and on a bit of a diet:

10 buffalo wings, spicy, with blue cheese dressing. Ice cold Perrier on the side. I don't do breakfast, and I skipped lunch today, so that's all I had. :o

  2. i know Pug it ain't your fault...you read the post of miss V...she was the first one that tought it was a Mercedes...hmm,girls!....that's a batmobile!

    ???

Normally, I don't take offence but come on, you numbnuts! I was talking about MY experiences with speeding. I HAVE A MERCEDES, hence "With a Merc"!

...now, who wants a sandwich and a beer.

I'm off to the kitchen in my barefeet. Hurry because I think my water is about to break! :p

  3. WEDNESDAY

Guys, this is help-a-member out time. I promised a fellow forum member I'd give him a few colour strap shots, as he's about to get his PAM 177h, and hasn't a clue what strap to buy. So without further ado, I give you three different and unusual vistas.

First, a Simona Cherry strap which I personally think is one of the most beautiful colours I've seen on any strap, full stop. And on the PAM 177h, we won't even talk!

    299569-3260.jpg

When you buy from Simona, you also get this super cool leather pouch to store your strap. Coincidentally, I had a KeyChain shaped like a strap with buckle made of similar texture as the pouch, from a strapmaker on Risti (PM me if you're interested in getting one. It is SCHWEET!)

    299569-3261.jpg

One of the most famous Panerai straps out there: Greg Stevens' custom-made Crazy Horse with black stitch. FETCH!

    299569-3262.jpg

Finally, to complete our tour of PAM 177h strap choices, is a strap by a German chap called CharlyJakob. I bought it thinking it was VERY pale beige, but it turned out just fine as a mid-range tan.

    299569-3263.jpg

    Wowza!

    299569-3264.jpg

    THURSDAY

Now I love to help a brutha out, but Thursday is my day. This is the increasingly favourite PAM 113 with a Toscana Fiero strap. Every time you turn your wrist, the strap bursts into a dozen colours. Awesome Elliot!

    299569-3265.jpg

And speaking of doing it again...we humans aren't the only ones checking ourselves out.

    299569-3266.jpg

I think he's in with a chance. :pimp:

  4. Yes it is a condo, and I am in south florida................Was that hottie you? :o

Holy crepe! Maybe -- well, I wouldn't say hottie. I'm "okay".

By the way, I'm a frosty British type when first you meet me. A bit like Grace Kelly -- cool, but just so that you know, there's a raging volcano of love inside.

    *g*

I have no problem with women even being chubby. Lots of women find it sexy. B) I was more embarrased about not knowing how to work the machine. I got over bragging about money before I turned 30. I've grown enough to know I don't want a woman who wants me for my money. I'll save that for after I turn 70 :p .........

Actually! I've always liked older men because early on, I noticed they can appreciate a woman for her qualities not her body or looks only.

I guess by the time you get to your 60s/70s, you know what's what in life, and you know the bimbettes without brains and little foundation mean squat, unless you're a gajillioner like that chap Marshall who married the late Anna Nicole. ;)

  5. Had a Fiddy got it all modded out, had to see for myself what the fuss was all about. But alas it was not for me, even and still if you do buy into the "Fiddy club" can't go wrong with a Davidsen, nice choice.

Ahem, now that I've "outted" my Fiddy as having to be sent back to Davidsen, in another thread, I'm going to post photos of the movement and a closeup of the dial.

Can you guys who are more expert than I (which are numerous...) tell me if the movement is correct, swan-neck, etc.?

It seems off, somehow. I'll post pics after dinner. Thanks in advance for any help. :)

  6. Eliptical , thats the name of the machine ;)

First, "development" sounds really ominous. I use "condo" for where I live. *g*

Secondly, I too have a gym downstairs which has all the newest machines available, as one would in a pricey Gold Gym or Bally Scandinavian spa. Indeed, the Univ of Miami has them too, which I can use, but that's a schlepp for me where I am.

The elliptical is my fave, followed by the rowing machine. Coincidentally, I use a pink and white workout outfit too, although it's mostly black/white Nike gear since it makes one slimmer. ;)

The only work out area I'm never in is the free weights section, since that's dominated by men similar to what I assume were more common in this forum, before I came -- rather macho, slightly misogynistic males who don't care for women around when they're talking of 'portant stuff like lifting. :D

And don't worry, jfreeman, I'm sure if she didn't give you the "look" (a quick glance which meets a man's eyes, and has a smile embedded in them, even though her facial expression doesn't change), she didn't even notice you were there. *gg*

@Sir-Lancelot: Uh, by and large, that is correct. We're not as stimulated visually as men, therefore I have never personally understood the lure of porn (but also I'm not into romantic comedies, as a rule. Love When Harry Met Sally though).

About the rich part, that is not necessary, and he'll come out looking like a jerk. Women care about words over images, yes, but what words you use are very important.

If she's impressed by money, or rather the acquisitive prowess and taste of a man, then make sure you dangle your keys near her, so she can see the car you drive. That should do it.

It wouldn't for me, though. I care about a man's demeanour, and elegant bearing, rather than muscles and $$$.

P.S.: Yes, Sir-Lancelot, I know you were saying all that tongue-in-cheek. But hey. ;)

  7. The first Omega worn by James Bond (okay, the first was the quartz version, but that's a minor detail.) I've read a review where the author criticized the color choice as not being 'serious', and claimed that Bond would actually have chosen a 2254.50 instead. <_< Personally, I disagree for two reasons.

    1. Sure, the blue color might not be black, but it is certainly elegant and serious. In low light, it looks black, in direct light, it is a gorgeous blue. Way more interesting than black...

Hmm, now that you put it that way, I think I agree with you, TeeJay.

    2. Bond never chose his watch at all, he was issued them from Q Branch, irrespective of his own tastes, so no more of this 'Bond would have chosen this or that' nonsense...

This one is more problematic because though certainly Q Branch would issue him with gadgetry, and the like, which wouldn't take his tastes into account, after a while, they must've realised they had to coddle him more than the other agents, because of the aura he projected was extra smooth and elegant.

Certainly I can see them tailoring certain pieces to fit this aura. :)

    299167-3587.jpg

    299167-3588.jpg

Looking at them carefully, I choose the one to right as being more impressive and more 007ish. The first one looks like an older man's version of the SMP, with a weightier, more classic, more "solid", but also duller feel.

Did I just make more enemies with that statement? ;)

    Great review, TJ!

  8. what is that, like 95MPH... I guess that's about the norm here.

With the Merc, you can barely feel the MPHs shoot up, so often I look down at the speedometre, and I am astounded at my 85-100MPH that I'm doing.

I immediately slow down when I see this, because I am a veteran of too many "ticket clinics" to want to get pulled over by our overzealous Miami coppers, or get the points/pay money.

You know how they say that young people don't fear death, and therefore they are truly unconcerned about driving like maniacs? This is why you pay more for auto insurance when you're young. Well, I never believed that until it happened to me. I used to be a complete lunatic driving as fast as possible everywhere. 100MPH was slow for me, and since I've always had fast cars, that was my norm.

Then I had an accident, which wasn't my fault, but it sobered me up right fast. Today, 65MPH is plenty fine for me.

So who's the freaking old person now? ;)

EDIT: OH! I see my shadow, Ryyannon, reading this now. :bye1:

Stay tuned for his latest observation on me, my sleeping habits, and my terrific new avatar about the luscious Fabio Cannavaro. Or will he totally change track and comment on my musical tastes? Personally, I'm choosing curtain #3.

  9. hope you will like my presentation

Are you kidding me, Kai! That is the most original presentation I've seen in these threads. Awesome idea!

You must obviously not have people who "do" your house, since I alas, don't trust the cleaners around my watches...even if they are reps.

  10. No and no.....

Admin, you sound like my father. Only with less credit card privileges...

Not sure if Gnarls barkley or Modest mouse is added to the db yet. The database is still being updated from my local computer as this is part of my private collection that I am in the process of "ripping" to the hard drive.

Heh. I bet you download torrented movies too!

    P.S.: Thanks for everything. It's a great idea. :D

But man, The Cure, Peter Gabriel, and Abba. You people are freaking old.

(EDIT: YAY! Thank you. I love that song. Describes me well)

  11. Okay, is there a problem with requesting songs, or using the Shoutbox, at this very moment?

    Hmmmmm.

This is what I wrote, twice!

What the freak! I can't request Gnarls Barkeley or Modest Mouse!! Boo. Pout. :football:

    And I meant it too.

  12. Check out Time Connection and their Fiero Toscana ... looks like the toscana above... i have 2 ..on the 176 and 177H .. i like the lighter colourstrap it brings out the Ti nicely

I LOVE THE FIERO! I received that recently, and think it's possibly the most versatile strap I have. It goes with the white-face, the black face, with Ti cases, and polished.

It even makes my monster (PAM 199) look good, despite the fact that it has stripped threads...so I can't really wear it.

Erwinner, one thing I have noticed about StrapCulture since getting it, is that the leather is not anywhere as nice as the other strapmakers. It's a tough, thick, unyielding, unchanging type of leather, which I originally had thought was "cool", largely because that buckle is sweet. Who doesn't want a skull-n-bones in one's buckle? :)

But the grown up in me says, this isn't worth USD118 plus shipping. There are much better straps for that kind of money. The Fiero being one of them.

(Just a note in favour of Strap Culture. The one I just ordered from them didn't come out well. So they are shipping me another one, with thinner leather which won't break my Radiomir lug screws which I feared the other strap would -- it's very very thick leather, almost 6mm. So at least they are very honourable merchants, and have no fears about them)

Still, sometimes you fall in love with something, and if it makes you happy, go for it! ;)

  13. I just got back home from cinema.

Many nice things showcased, starting with a great house, a Carrera GT and LOTS of great shots of an IWC Portuguese.

Some other watches are shown there too - a SS Daytona, a President etc.

THANK YOU! I have been searching for what watch Ryan Gosling was wearing in Fracture since I saw it 6 months ago. Sheesh, I kept thinking, "is that a Lange? Glash

  14. Ms. Barrett,

Miss, actually! I only have one bra, and it's unburnt.

Mind you, I wash it every night.

While we're on the subject of avatars, I've been meaning to talk to you about yours: I don't know how or where you obtained it, but I'm not at all happy with you using that picture of my mother.

It's embarrassing enough that she imagines that she's the reincarnation of Yassir Arafat, but to be constantly reminded of the fact while I'm here trying to escape her delirium (not to mention the stray rounds from her Kalashnikov) is slightly more than I can take.

Sorry memsahib, for poaching your mater's pic.

I should've known better than to go lifting photos off of the "Kabul Beauty Salon" website, but there we are. We were all newbies once, before upgrading to VIP.

What happened to the babe in the bra?

    WHICH REMINDS ME!

Why is it that I'm providing free pr0n for lusty males. I should be posting pics of dazzling Italian hunks at least three shades darker than my fine self.

It was so much more soothing.

Soothing is a matter of preference.

I prefer to take Horlick's ever since I heard their catchy advert jingle, "Ever lick a hor? Well, it tastes just like that."

By the way, don't you ever sleep?

Oh, Ryyannon. You're obsessed with my sleeping habits, my love.

Next thing you know, you'll be camping outside my window like that Cuban guy who stalked Bj
