  1. This is an interesting thread, since I'm always looking for something for my wife.

There have been many in the past. I always reply, but this is the first "ladies watch" thread I've ever posted. :)

I kind of like the Hermes double tour, and I DEFINITELY like the Cartier above, but for the most part I'm having trouble. . . My wife seems to like an automatic watch, but I suppose it wouldn't matter if the watch didn't have a second hand. Also, she likes to have the date visible. Most of the decent looking women's watches seem to be quartz, and the rest are pretty ugly, or I'm just not finding the right ones.

Seems Rolexes are in her future, mon ami.

Can anyone post up some links for some of the classic reps named above? If it matters, I prefer Silix, but I'm happy to look at watches wherever they are available.

As you await others posting pics, check out these two threads:

Oh, by the way, does anyone have any experience with, or thoughts about this one?:

Hand on heart, I say this is too clunky and it's a fantasy watch, which I always counsel people to stay away from. It's easier to be caught out that way (though as Freddy and I recently mentioned, it's less of a problem for women).

Check out the second of the two links above. You'll find loads of Cartiers, but sadly not the Seatimer Pasha. Neither my mum nor I have that one. :)

"The updated chronometer sports a black bezel (rather than the traditional blue), not to mention black gold-plated hour and minute hands and red 007 logo.

As the name implies, it's also water-resistant up to 300 meters, if you need that for some reason.

The watchmaker will produce 10,007 of them, with the first hitting the brand's Beverly Hills shop for a price TBD."

  3. Lol, that big oaf only cares about championships.

Well, that makes all of us -- you know how Miami fans are notorious for only getting excited and attending games when there's something at stake. This city is too new for anything deeper.

Has there ever been a SoFla get together?

I read that the second RWG meetup at Dave & Buster's was, well, a bust.

But the first, organised by Phoband, was a great success.

This was in November 2006. This was the next meeting.

  4. I still believe that if she doesn't own one already, every woman should have a Patek Philippe 24 replica. There are so many different versions available (from standard stainless steel, to ritzier yellow and rose gold, to the extravagant haute joaillerie full diamond encrust) so finding the perfect one can be a pleasant adventure all in itself.

Naturally, the Patek 24 is an utter classic, but the reps are ridiculous. Bling just isn't convincing on those versions.

BTW, Corgi, did you see my Easter wristcheck? :p

I've actually seen a lady wearing one here in a local outlet store. She wore it upside down (face on inner wrist) and the big fleur de lis was on top. I recognized it instantly and even wanted to complement her on the choice. No idea if it was real or replica - but either way it has a certain presence on the female wrist.

Patek is fighting for its dear life in the "dainty" category, since the trend for the past decade has been outsized watches. I actually take the Herm

  5. Whoooooah there Tex...remember her boyfriend reads this board too...and he's only a 12hr drive from your doorstep. :)

He stopped reading after the "Troubles" in November-December. He's fairly upset that I am still a member of the forum, but I told him, it's much better now.

    So flirt away. :p

@Toady: Oh, some board members and I took a while to mesh, is all. Thankfully, that's ancient history. :)

  6. MONDAY

This wristcheck is all about discovery. What's under the box? What's inside the bag? What's inside our hearts? I hope you enjoy it, as it'll be the last for a while. :tu:

    Ooh. What's this!

    Ooh. What's this!

Can it be a Cartier Santos cradled near Cartier champers flutes?

Few online forums exhibited the generosity this one did when one member needed it most. So here's to you, my dear RWG...

  7. That's the danger of hanging out on forums, and showing off your collection (I'm not saying that's what this guy did). It just creates a "shopping list" for criminals...

    THANK YOU.

Sorry guys, but that's the truth. Notice that it was a neurosurgeon, not a celebrity, etc.

People like that are in the upper-middle strata economically. They can afford to buy pricey watches, but they can't afford to have 24/7 security, full insurance, and a deep vault inside their house (which can run you in the hundreds of thousands to build) like the truly rich.

I hate when my parents are right, but they were right in disallowing me to post all my/their gens. It's just too risky, even if most theft of this kind turns out to be an inside job.

  8. umm... am i the only one that thinks is a little ironic that V is making this comment? :bangin:

Only man in this world that could get away with that.

Even his grandson Lapo can't. Maybe V can wear the Greek flag on his cuffs?

EDIT: In that thread, Deltatahoe, someone posted this link mentioning Agnelli's signature wristcheck.

  9. Jay it seems that you probably do not want to do any transaction showing your name, sending money to RWG.

He's not the only one. Me too. I've made a pact with my parents about that, but I have ways of getting around it.

That way everyone will be happy. You get the supporting status anonymously, the buyer the stuff and RWG the money for the subscription. ;)

    That's a splendid idea!

@Uncle Jay: Cool! Thanks so much. Much though I would've enjoyed placing the decal on my skis, I look forward to slapping those babies on my new car. :p

  10. I wonder if this thread would have the same kind of input if Dani were talking about a different animal. Like a lamb or a muskrat. Because the topic is now far from being salvaged. And the topic should have been more descriptive than "china and animals".

"China and a curmudgeon of RWGers"?

  11. Thanks for the info!! I hadn't realized that that IWC was so small and didn't have the same quality as the other one. And I agree, IWC is something a bit more "non-common" than Omega. The only problem is that a colleague has one as well (a gen). I guess the choice isn't easy...

Screwie, I just saw this by Precious Time (he's in the EU, the UK to be exact so that's good for you) -- and thought of you.

  12. Both of my loves :)

    dsc00747zv6.jpg

LOVELY. Great shot of the watches, with that tell-tale macho fist pump (so macho, the whites of your knuckles are showing!).

And is your shirt pocket upside down? Chic!

One of the best photos so far (I love TMG's rare ocean wristie).

    CLARIFICATION:

This thread is a challenge thread, not a substitute for the beloved 3x a week Wristchecks. :)

  13. this is a place full of good and decent people and not tainted by the "stench" of corruption and deceit that is usually associated with "replica" anything .

We all understand why we are here and that it's not about "deceiving" anybody .....just a lower cost method of indulging in ones passions.

If ever RWG gets a banner or a mission statement of any kind, these words by FGD should be emblazoned on it. Perfect summary of what at least THIS part of the replica watch world is about.
