  1. Wow! That's a lot of rules. Is it OK to blow my nose? I think I'll go and live in China. I'll have more freedom, there.
  2. Best of luck, my friend. You have been missed!
  3. China already has a thriving fake phone industry... how long will it be before our better dealers are offering the rollie-phone, I wonder?
  4. A bargain at only $200, Willith. Be sure to get the version with AR crystal, as shown in the photo
  5. Brilliant! This is RWG1 - and I claim my
  6. Whilst browsing for references for the Pam 212, I found this: http://vancouver.craigslist.org/jwl/438566476.html Hey! That's my shirt, my desk and my 212. The rare version, with AR. I have published this pic on the forums - and only on the forums. So we have a nasty little sneak-thief in our midst. I'll be watermarking my pics in future. Take your own pics, scammer. Whilst I am flattered that you chose to publish my photo, rather than illustrate whatever crappy version you have for sale, I trust that you will forgive me when i tell you that I hope that you die, soon.
  7. Send the pic to HK Tan. Send him some money. Wait... wait... wait... When the strap arrives, it will have been worth waiting for.
  8. I have been collecting for years - and have dozens of watches. I have never - ever - had a problem with watches coming in from China. A couple of times, I had to pay a minimal amout - less than
  9. What leads you to believe that the pics are not his?
  10. Go the whole hog and have it PVD plated. Face it... nothing else is going to satisfy you. So you may as well do it properly.
  11. I'll avoid (with regret) the obvious response and thank you, instead. One of my Pams is a possible candidate for the quick and dirty cure... it isn't too sloppy - but if it starts to irritate me, I'll be pumping silicone into the hole. You post saved for future reference, Thank you.
  12. It would help if you told us which Panerai you are interested in. Some GMT autos were, until recently, available with the same ETA movement that Panerai used... but the supply of these movements seems to have dried up. History. Panerai used the ETA "Unitas" 6947 in many of their hand-wind watches... and that movement is easily obtainable, both as a gen Swiss item or an Asian copy. Of course Panerai reworked the Unitas a bit... mainly to make it prettier. Panerai are rigid in their control - spares of any kind are close to unobtainable ... your chances of finding a genuine, Panerai-modified movement are so close to zero as makes no difference. But if you insist on having a gen Swiss 6947 movement in your watch, you can buy one from Ofrei... last time I looked, they only cost $75. Put it in a closed-back Pam and nobody will know... Having said that, I have loads of watches with 6947 movements, both genuine Swiss and Asian copies. The only one to let me down was Swiss.
  13. A fibre-glass burnishing pen might do the job (used very gently) but you probably wouldn't be happy with a dead mat result. I'd suggest repainting with semi-mat black paint... available from any good model-making shop.
  14. I really did laugh out loud! Thank you, VB.
  15. Mine used to be more fun... until a sad little avatar nazi lady complained. Edit to add... but she missed my siggy (snigger).
  16. How about this... BOB - so not expensive. But still a quality strap. Or go mad and get a custom-made strap from HK Tan. This one was made from vintage, distressed leather reclaimed from a derelict railway carriage:
  17. The biggest Pams are the 187 and its non-chrono sister, the 194. There are other 47mm Panerai... but none that are such lumps.
  18. Ours is not the only industry that uses small screws. In addition to opticians, you could try model railways shops and camera repair specialiasts
  19. Avoid yellow gold. It is trailer-park vulgar. Trashy. Go for rose gold. Rose gold has an undertstated, sophisticated elegance. Like this 147 from Joshua, for instance:
