  1. Beautiful pics andreww. I agree, once I took it off the SS bracelet (and put it onto a rep brown leather band that I also ordered with it), the white face and the other details are just so striking through the double AR! I think the decent, but obviously less quality than the watch bracelet was distracting us from the watch itself.
  2. Thanks. Great find, do you know off the top of your head whether they ship to the US? I'll query them.
  3. How hard would it be/expensive to install a genuine Breitling SFSO datewheel into the swiss ETA rep? Is there anyone with access to genuine datewheels on the forums that would be willing to mod mine?
  4. Hi guys: Anyone know of a good source for genuine leather/croc straps for the SFSO? I've seen some ebay stores that sell them and they're around $200-300. Is that a price that should be expected? Thanks!
  5. Beautiful! Anyone on this forum selling gen leather straps for the Superocean Steelfish? I'd love to pick one up. I currently have the rep leather, and its pretty darn nice, however I wish the logo on the buckle was a bit better engraved.
  6. Omega: Beautiful pics! I was at a party at believe it or not there were 2 other people wearing gens, and just holding their SS bracelets the quality was unreal. One also had some version of the Superocean I didn't recognize, and he didn't recognize mine either, but he sure loved it!
  7. Hi guys: I bought the Swiss SFSO and wonder about beat speed/ticking, all that good stuff. The second hand certainly has the sweeping motion, but you do notice it ticking along, but you have to look close. Is there a way to tell by looking at the watch, and are there any resource guides online as to this--its bps (i.e., so I don't have to trug down to the local AG and look at a real one beat). I suppose I expected it to be smooth seamless sweeping, but I guess that isn't how it really operates (even the Swiss SFSO) Thanks for any insight.
  8. Yea thanks guys. When I finally managed to pop those pesky little spring bars out the leather was pretty easy to put on and I must say looks really nice. The SFSO is a darn nice watch, and the bracelet aint bad, but no where near the quality of the watch. I sort of had to push the spring bars in all the way and slide it in and feel around for a click w/ the leather too, so I imagine I could do it if I wanted to put the SS back on. Does anyone know if any gen SS bands fit on the SFSO?
  9. Thanks guys. Yea I saw that Breitling Source video and it looks so easy to pop off, but I wonder about putting it back on. The leather is easy to put on it seems, but whats the reason for the pain for the SS, b/c you have to bend the pin?
  10. Hi guys: How hard is it to remove the SS strap that comes on the SFSO and put on the leather band that I also ordered w/ the watch? I've read that some people's springbars were bent slightly to get the SS straps on and so I wonder how hard it would be to put the SS strap back on if I don't like the leather. Anyone come across any major issues with changing the bands? Also, whats a good common tool to use to pop the bar out? x-acto knife, small eye glasses screw driver? Thanks for any insight!
  11. Does anyone know where to get a decent box and good papers, including the info booklet/manual and serial numbered cards/papers for the Superocean Steelfish (particularly the Swiss version from TWP, but I suppose any version will do). Basically everything the gen would come with. Thanks!
  12. TWP seems to have some nice stuff and is a pleasure to communicate with (my first purchase coming this week, incidentaly also the SFSO). I ordered from him mainly because I read a lot of positive reviews on the forums.
  13. Question for you guys who get two bands, bracelet and strap. Is it easy to swap them out? For example, if I go to work I'll want to wear the leather band, but if on the weekend I'm going some outdoor stuff I'll want to swap in the steel bracelet for the weekend. Easy to do? THanks
  14. Hi Rob: Where are you getting all this work done? I am consdering the swiss special edition from Joshua as well. Also, how do you like the watch (if you've worn it much yet?)
  15. *Bump* Anyone get one of these. I see these posts are almost a year old and am wondering if anyone got one and how its running? I see the price is still $888 though, but I may go for it, if it would be possible to get perhaps 2 more links brushed and added on (I have 8" wrist and have read they're tight) Cheers
  16. I see its almost a year since you got this watch. Can I ask how its running for you? I am considering one as well. Would it be easy to add 1 or 2 links to the bracelet, I think I have exactly a 8" wrist and I've heard these are tight. I would switch to a leather band but the brushed bracelet sounds nice!
  17. I have interest in this thread. Anyone know of a watchsmith in the Boston area that is willing to work on a rep, for atleast simple stuff, such as cleaning and oiling?
  18. Oops sorry I sort of hijacked your thread, yes please back on topic (any responses to my questions can be PM'ed to me)
  19. Thanks. And being new to this, what is your approach when asking a non-Authorized Dealer watchsmith type shop about reps? "Hey, do you mind taking a look at and/or servicing a high-quality replica with a good asian 7750 copy movement?" (assuming that is the watch I bring in) I had had a rep way back when, and when the slightest hint that it was a rep came up with some watch guys they wouldn't go near it, although that may have been an extremely cheap rep. Do you guys find that most of those watchsmith guys who have their own little shops/been around for a while, won't mind working on a copied 7750 movement (considering it is basically like the gen)? Any insight for local watchsmith store servicing is appreciated (or if there is a thread started somewhere on this--in particular local watchsmithes, not sending in to forum members) Thanks Again.
  20. Could I throw a question in as well, having already checking out that great Breitling rep buyers'-guide. I am debating between the ~$300 Asian 7750 and the ~$900 Swiss 7750. I understand the Swiss is just beautiful and runs like a charm, and that the Asian will as well with perhaps one service a year? Can you take one of these watches to a decent watch store in your town to have it serviced? How do you guys service good quality reps? Thanks!
