Its so heavy you almost can't see the face!
-
"Weights/Feels and Looks exactly same as original" Ugh - what crap, all gen pics on that site, most of watches that, to my knowledge, haven't been repped. I'm curious wtf you'd get!
-
Its a beautiful watch - I just picked up the gen at my local AD a few weeks ago. Got a great discount too, so perhaps save up for the real deal at an AD, you'll be surprised if you look a few more places the discounts are hiding. In fact, the price I got from my AD was $100 less than the new ones on eBay. I'm surprised for how popular this watch can be and how stuning the white face, blue subdials is, that it hasn't been repped yet. Hopefully soon, I'd love to see it!

I agree on the no need to rush - and on checking out TimeZone. I'd go for the Chrono Evo b/c I've seen them at the AD and they are stunning - that is if you can afford the extra G. If that is your top watch, but the $ is holding you back, wait a month or so to bank some extra cash then go for it! Of course it comes down to your personal style, if you like the less expensive watch, dont even think about the Chrono Evo then. That said, the going "theme" is that you should save up for the one you really want.

That white face is beautiful! I'm not a huge Rolex fan but I seriously might consider that model! -
Something I have NEVER done before!

Beautiful car! I've got the plain ol boring A6. Oh yea......and nice watch too! -
Hey did you get it from Joshua recently? Last I heard he was out of the ultimates, which this does appear to be as it has the small tick mark next to the "10" on the upper chrono.

I don't know you or your friend but that is absolutly horrible, and at only 25 is a very freightening loss! Deepest condolences!

SFSO Band Question - Will this band fit?
The Red Baron replied to brsmith1's topic in The Breitling Area
I got a gen croco strap on ebay that was on an old Navitimer that I now use on my SOSF. Its 22/18. The SOSF likes 22/20, but as long as its 22, the rest of the / is just preference. But exactly, just measure to see if its 22 at the lug ends. -
BEAUTIFUL view!

Anyone have the BCE ultimate in stock? Seems everyone I have contacted is out but are offering the first gen, saying it is good quality. Anyone, any details?

Breitling Blackbird Pics/comments *updated
The Red Baron replied to mezzanine's topic in The Breitling Area
@mezzanine: that BCE (DuDro's) looks great, do you know from whom he purchased it? I've found most of the dealers are out of the ultimate version 2, the model that includes the little tick mark below the '10' on the upper chrono. I've been told the earlier version has a very nice dial and is equally high-quality, but I'm concerned about buying an older model. Thanks! -

UB: Looks great! What "version" of the BCE is that, the older or newer ultimate? Also from whom did you get it? -

Ah yes I'd love to see some pics in the watches. I'm hoping to have my soon-to-come BCE off to The Zigmeister in the next month or so once the next batch of datewheels come in! -

Refinishing Breitling Chronomat Evo Bracelet

Wow that bracelet looks terrific!!!! -
Ah I went rep - the date font looked funny and the bezel markings didn't look deep enough cut. Partially, though, I was hoping it was a rep because that would have been a beauty w/ the QC on the lume! As nice as the Swiss Superocean's date font is, and for want of tinkering with a solid swiss eta movement, I say we re-energize the datewheel project for this rep watch - I'd love to have single digits that fill up the whole date window!

Breitling Chronomat Evolution, History and Review
The Red Baron replied to chrgod's topic in The Breitling Area
I love the BCE from Ruby used as the model for this great review. What is the best way to contact Ruby to grab one? PM? The email in her profile doesn't seem to work. Thanks for any help, or if anyone had a good transaction with someone else -
I am not sure what you mean. You mean you haven't kept it charged up enough to see if the date will change on its own? It is supposed to do this, and if this is the case, keep it charged up to see if it will change. I don't know how you can tell if you're in AM or PM so when mine loses its charge and I need to change the date I just move the hands as many hours forward as needed till it changes over to the current date/time. If you keep it wound up (as I referred to as "charged up" earlier), and you need to change the date it will be set to AM or PM by the time you have and so shouldn't be a problem.

The drunken pearl does look a bit better on that one, and the bezel 'S' looks much more to the right (centered) than others I've seen. Anyone know of a dealer selling more centered ones than others? Or is it really a hit or miss unless you a see a pic.
-
Very nice dial and quality control on the application of the lume to the small circles! How good is that date font for those that have a picture of the '5' handy? It struck me initially as excellent, but I may be off not having a pic of a gen in front of me to compare.
-
I read somewhere the screws are faux, and you'll probably find this by looking closely at them and/or trying to unscrew them, they do seem glazed onto the bezel. As for how to pop it off, your guess is as good as mine.

Beauty! Give us some details on the strap too!
