  1. Ubi does it again! Come on man, we need the details!
  2. I would love a nice Carrera chrono rep. I'm with Ubi that the flaws would have to be fixed easily with genuine parts.
  3. I like it. Tough to rep though I would think.
  4. I can't find the thread for restitching a PAM strap. I'll keep looking though. In the meantime, I did find this: http://www.speedystitcher.com/main.html Some daring soul should pick one up, some cheap straps and give it a go. This could fast become a popular mod for straps. Adding different colored stitching that is.
  5. There was a tutorial somewhere on restitching a PAM strap. Maybe get a cheap strap, restitch it for practice, then get a nice strap and do it up right with the orange stitching? I'll try to see if I can find that post. It could be on old RWG still.
  6. @euno Who or what is watch co? I'd love to get my hands on a kit and put one of these together.
  7. What are you going to have done to it?
  8. Aren't those bad boys sweet? The Seamaster 120 isn't bad either. They are always a few up on the 'bay. Definitely something I would love to add to my collection.
  9. You can try eBay. That's usually a decent source for stuff.
  10. Update: I spoke to a friend of mine who works at a fabrication shop. The word of the day is expensive. He said given the tolerances needed (i.e. drilling and tapping the holes for screws) and the material (Stainless Steel) being used, this could, and most likely will, be a very expensive project. Unfortunately, he does not work in the machine shop section and wouldn't be able to help a brother out. Any other thoughts?
  11. I know a guy I can ask about this. I'll give him a ring and see what he says.
  12. Very nice. Do you have any before pics for reference?
  13. @ archibald That stinks that the CNC costs are so high. There are a few reasons why I'm trying to avoid destroying a bracelet. 1) I still like the bracelet, but want the strap option. 2) I don't think I have the skill/tools to get the endlinks out without doing a fair amount of damage to them. 3) I would still need screws and the endlinks tapped to put a strap on. Any more thoughts from anyone?
  14. I have not one, but TWO dead IWC GSTs. Two different dealers too. It happens I guess.
  15. I can't find a good pic of just the endlinks. Click this link: http://www.kronosclub.com/ROC/mainX.asp?mnuNum=15300 The two gold watches at the bottom have the setup we need for a strap. I just don't feel like destroying a bracelet for those 4 little pieces of SS. @rek I PMd Joe about it. He's a bit busy right now to do it, but maybe in the future.
  16. I'd be careful wearing that thing. You may end up with a 3rd wrist! Wear it well. And nice job done by FinePics.
  17. I'm on an AP Royal Oak kick right now. These watches are sweet, but there is a catch. You can't get a leather strap on any of them. After poking around a little, turns out you can get endlinks from AP for genuines. Of course, they cost a ton. So I'm thinking, it looks like the endlinks aren't very complicated. Basically, four metal "tabs" that need to be threaded. Of course, you would need to modify any strap you buy to get it on these links, but that's not a huge issue. Is there anyone out there interested in researching and possible getting some of these made? Is there anyone here with the machining skills to do so? Post here and lets see what we can do.
  18. Here are my two babies. My buddy hooked me up with the blue one as a trial. I feel in love and now I'm on a quest for APs!! The black dial came from Sean.
  19. I've been around RWG and TRC for over a year an half. I just got an AP RO (great watch by the way). Anyway, it arrived, but there was some crap on the inside of the crystal. What's a boy to do? I could go to my rep friendly watch guy an hour away to have him do 5 minutes of work. Or I could send it to RBJ or The Zigmeister. None of the options was that appealing. I hit up Home Depot, got me some nice screwdrivers. The Zigmeister provided a sweet uncasing tutorial that covered an ETA movement like mine. Within 15 minutes, my crystal was clean and my watch was back on my wrist. I saved a long drive and shipping. So thank you The Zigmeister! And thanks to RBJ, Ubi and others who help to make this place such a great resource!
  20. TTK often brings in just one of a given piece. Once it's gone, it's usually gone.
