  1. shultz, thanks for your comments. It should be any day now. I sent yours Global Express on 12 March.
  2. The watch in my picture is genuine.
  3. Neither. It's this one:
  4. Perhaps, but the dial is too large, and I thought the quartz models were designed into the smaller cases.... Then again I'm clueless about most things Omega.
  5. I like the strap. I may have to order one. I do prefer the bracelet (because it's such a nice and well made bracelet compared to most reps), but the strap is a nice way to change things up. I agree that the pics don't really capture the AR... pics never do though.
  6. I think you're right Rob. So I'm puzzled... If the Omega is using the 2892 in the SMP, I wonder how they get the datewheel to line up with a window that is too wide? I mean, I can see the spacer ring on my 2824 through the window of this dial, so it's not just a little off - too far off for an overlay I would think. My guess would have been that the wider dials would have the date windows adjusted further away from the dial edge, i.e. closer to the dial center for alignment (as is the case on the 42 vs. 45mm Planet Oceans)... Perhaps they're not using 2892s on the wider models.
  7. Man you guys are quick!! Yours look great subzero. I'm glad you like the results!!
  8. I'm confused as to how a cushion can put pressure on a bracelet. But either way, there are boxes where the watches lay flat in drawers instead of wrapped around cushions.
  9. Come on guys, don't take the bait!
  10. You really don't realize what you're missing until suddenly your crystal has AR on it.... It's kind of like Tivo: once you have it, you don't know how you ever lived without it!
  11. I would guess we've all seen that. NYC is probably even more liberal than SF. You'll get your watch.
  12. I've shipped all pending orders now, including those that came in last night and today. FYI !
  13. Is the date wheel on the 2824 the same diameter as the one used on the 2892-2? I assume so since both movements are 11.5 ligne. Note: I'm not asking about compatibility, I'm just wondering why a genuine Seamaster dial's date window isn't lining up with my 2824's date wheel. Most likely I've got the wrong dial. Oh well took a gamble since it was so cheap..
  14. Is changing the oil in your car important? Or is it a waste of money? It's one of those things you might not see the value in until you encounter problems. The point is well made about the cost of new movements vs. the cost of servicing. But the new movements are (A) likely to be unserviced, and ( getting more and more difficult to find.
  15. Oh my lord... Did this seller have references?? Certainly he couldn't have NOT noticed this!?!
  16. There's alot to like about this watch (assuming you're into gold). Good dial, nice date mag, etc. The pearl is not bad either, but not quite like my gen. Better than many others, though! The conical rehaut, typical of the newest gen subs, is a put off for me however. Overall, though, it's a nice piece.
  17. It is truly amazing what you can get away with by playing stupid, isn't it?
  18. Thanks, guys. I'll get all pending orders out today, including the ones that came in last night (GMT-.
  19. Just as an FYI, I've found that synthetic motor oil works best. Mobil-1, for example.
  20. I agree. Some other forums could use a house cleaning, but not this one. So, if it aint broken, don't fix it.
  21. LOL. No but I'd trade you a few lenses for that strap.... Although it looks to be a 26mm, so maybe not.
  22. Flav, you'll only be receiving 6 crystals back. C1-C5 and C24. I kept C27 (my Seawolf) which was an experiment in AR stripping gone terribly wrong.... I sent you a PM on this. In the coming few days, I'm going to attempt finishing the stripping job and we'll see what happens.
  23. I had a hard time visualizing a strap from the initial shots of the pouches, but boy, the end result sure is terrific. Very unique, interesting, and well crafted to say the least!
  24. Soon, I hope... For my PAM 196's sake. I want to clear out some more cyclopes first...
  25. I appreciate the gesture. Anyone who wants one is more than welcome to a lens, of course.
