  1. I know this has been hashed out before, but I think it is worth appealing to everyone again.... It is quite frustrating when members respond to "gauging interest" posts with "I'm in for X" only to disappear at the completion of the project. For the Panerai cyclops project, I had more than enough "I'm in for X" to justify spending my own cash to produce these lenses. I even added some slop to the totals knowing there would be falloff. Now, at this point, I've sent PMs to everyone who had previously committed to these lenses in prior threads, and yet I haven't even received enough responses to those PMs to make me believe my costs will be covered. So, if you've received my PM and know you are still going honor your commitment, but will just be delayed in doing so, please say so. Or if the $25 lens you committed to a couple months ago is too much of a financial hardship now, fine. Or maybe you've sold all your Panerais and never intend to own new ones. Whatever, just let me know. I would appreciate it. I just find it very disappointing and flat out rude that people are simply ignoring me. Now, on the positive side, I did have one member say "I committed to 3, but now I only need 1. Yet I will live up to my commitment and purchase all 3." This goes above and beyond the call of duty, and I would have been more than happy to simply sell him the single lens he now needed. As far as current orders go, I've got most mailed out as of today. I've got about 4 more international orders yet to mail (they don't allow me to use the kiosk for those), but expect to get in to the post office to ship those tomorrow. So, thanks for listening and I hope to hear from everyone! A response one way or the other will help me gauge my own interest in heading up future projects. -- Chief
  2. The forum is your friend. Check this out: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&amp...ost&p=10988
  3. Maybe you messed something up when you used that pipe wrench and hockey stick to remove the winding stem.
  4. I just never get tired of the Ubi collection!
  5. Actually it is marvelous advice. That place just isn't worth your energy and despair.
  6. Yep. My The Zigmeister-lumed PAMs look like that first pic.
  7. Well put, ole wise one.
  8. Sounds painful.
  9. Folks, look for a future "AR Group Run Signup" thread, and respond to it... I'm not putting anyone down for anything at the moment. FYI
  10. I'm not sure. I've never handled a gen. I went with double AR on my Ingy and it makes a big difference.
  11. C1 - C5 went back to flav and I think yours was one of those, right?
  12. I probably have a spare Noob minute hand if you want it.
  13. Yes, I linked to pics in post #1. Here is that link: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry214196
  14. Thanks to all who have honored their commitments so far... I sent off several packages this morning!
  15. Liquid Nails #3. It gives you a 4-5 minute open time, and bonds to metal well. So well, that you will only want to use a couple dots of it...
  16. Get a PAM! Near Fremont there's a Davidson & Licht in Walnut Creek and the Shreve in Palo Alto who are PAM ADs (in addition to the Shreve on Post in SF).
  17. Good stuff Chris. Can't wait to see the Pamex.
  18. I think I have PM'ed everyone now who has committed to the PAM cyclops project with ordering information. For anyone else interested, there are still plenty to go around, and here is the lowdown: The results are everything I had hoped for and I think they speak for themselves... Please see the pictures for yourself in this thread: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=214196 Price is as previously stated: -- $25 USD each or $20 USD each for 3 or more lenses. Lens specs are as previously stated: -- ~6.75 mm diameter -- ~1.23 mm total thickness -- Sapphire CONUS shipping: -- $3 USD first class, or $6 USD for priority mail per order (not per lens). Delivery confirmation included. International (outside CONUS) shipping: -- $4 USD air mail, or $25 USD EMS with tracking per order (not per lens). Delivery can not be guaranteed, but tracking information will be provided with the EMS shipping option. Paypal: ** Make no mention of RWG or replicas of any sort in your paypal message!! ** -- Send me a PM to obtain paypal address. -- Add 3% + $0.30 USD to your total (including shipping) if paying by credit card. No fee for cash payments. -- Payments of incorrect amounts will simply be refunded. -- Note the quantity and shipping method desired in the Notes field. -- Provide a shipping address as well. Disclaimers: -- I can not guarantee that these lenses will fit every watch. They were designed to be thin enough to fit MOST watches. I expect about a 95%+ success rate with non-sandwich crystals. Some forum members are however looking into solutions for the sandwich crystals. Nevertheless, buyer beware. -- I will guarantee the quality of these lenses if and only if installed by a competent watchsmith with experience in performing this sort of modification who uses proper equipment, glues, etc. I recommend The Zigmeister (Canada), schedule permitting. -- Lenses to be shipped within a week of receiving payment. Thanks!
  19. Gen DateJust. No clue on the Yachtmaster - I don't pay attention to those.
  20. I don't think OFrei has correct hands. Why do you want to do this anyhow? Noobmariner hands are pretty good.
  21. It has been at The Zigmeister's for about 6 months. It originally had the chipped dial, so I had to obtain the replacement which took a while. Then I held off sending the new dial back to Rob knowing that I'd just want to AR coat the crystal anyhow. I'll definitely post pics when I get it back.... It'll be fully serviced, super lumed, and doubled AR'ed.... I can't wait to actually wear it. I haven't worn it since I got it!!! Based on my caliper measurements, I think there are 3 or 4 Ingy crystals in this AR run. So you might well see pics of other Ingys before mine!! You bet!!
  22. The coating is bluish. I've done my IWC Ingy double sided. In fact, I just received the first run of crystals back from the coater on Thursday. They turned out great.
  23. I've heard one account that separating the sandwich crystal is not terribly difficult... I think it was Lello who tried it.
