  1. Gen 104 for the heck of it....
  2. Yes sir. C1 (white) Superluminova applied by Master The Zigmeister himself.
  3. Alrighty, then. Here we have a picture courtesy of The Zigmeister showing the new cyclops mounted to a PAM 89 at the proper distance from the date window. Magnification and distortion look very good... Also, as an alternative, I've set one of the lenses on top of my TW Best Frankensub (more about that watch another time). Note the distortion (or relative lack thereof) at the edges, and from various off-axis angles: As a side note, it's interesting that my hour hand is developing some sort of patina on it.....
  4. Great minds think alike!!!
  5. You sound offended. Don't be. The fact is, there are advanced societies, and there are laggards. Snowshoes and tobaggans simply don't impress me when other civilizations are inventing far more advanced things. The fact that they can invent things to aid in their own survival is only the first step - the tip of the iceberg. I'm more interested in overall productivity.
  6. My guess is that in the very near future your only hope of continuing to browse this forum will be through an IP proxy and a new nick. Admin, please do your thing.
  7. Looks very nice. If I understand the drawings correctly, the kitchen is on the second floor? So when you come home with a car full of groceries, you have to carry them all the way up the stairs to put them away? That seems non-optimal to me. Something to think about anyhow... EDIT: just noticed that you've moved well beyond the architectural drawing stage now... so ignore my suggestion.
  8. That's it? They spent thousands of years on a whopping 8 inventions?
  9. It seems to be a general rule that aborigines/natives aren't very deep thinkers. I can't think of anything useful invented by the North American natives, for example. Even their main industry, indian gaming, was invented by the white man.
  10. My watchmen does not produce distortion when viewed straight on. I think there are a few possibilities with yours: (1) installation problems; (2) your watch has a deeper rehaut than mine which results in a higher magnification and increased apparent distortion (mine is a 2892 063); (3) your cyclops is out of spec (unlikely).
  11. Moi babes, you're everyone's best friend.
  12. Congrats on bringing this project to forum. I'm in for 2...
  13. Well, Rob, a good portion of your supreme talent as a watch maker is certainly derived from patience - which you've demonstrated here. Admirable to say the least.
  14. Ubi - HUUUUUUGE improvement in my opinion. It's like going from rep to gen IMO!!! Great find.
  15. The watchmen did have a bit of distortion, but so do the gens. I have a watchmen cyclops on my 2892 063, and it meets my expectations. It is, however, slightly too strong in mangnifcation power in my opinion. Nevertheless it is a huge improvement over what comes from the Chinese factory, and not any concern to me. Perhaps it's an illusion, though, as my datewheel is inaccurate. The numbers might just look over-magnified due to them being the wrong size and font to begin with. Once I receive the Finepics datewheel, I will have my final say. All that said, I think there is still significant interest in 6mm cyclopes. I'm toying with the idea of doing a 6mm run once I've paid off my investment in the 6.75mm versions. If it does come to fruition, I'd probably make them ever so slightly weaker in mag power than the watchmen so as to slightly reduce total thickness, distortion, and reflections.
  16. Logging in remotely using a 26.4kpbs connection here.... (not fun). The AR run is complete and the crystals should be back in my hands by the time I return on Wednesday! This is well ahead of schedule and quite unexpected! Talk to you again Wednesday.... not going to try logging in with this connection again. Just had to pass along the good news!
  17. F.Y.I. - I will be out of town until Wednesday, the 7th of March. I'm turning off my PM inbox so it doesn't overflow. As an FYI to those involved: the AR run is going very well and I've been told that it might be completed mid next week - ahead of schedule! And for those asking about the cyclopes, I hope to be ready to start selling them late next week. Stay tuned.... OK... Turning PMs off until the 7th. See you on the other side.
  18. Great news Mark. I can't wait!
  19. One of these days I'll be going to PAM to check things out firsthand. I've decided it's the ONLY way to do business with these people. I don't think you can trust them to send you anything that would meet your expectations without having seen the item first. The problem is that they're only open on weekdays and not exactly right around the corner from me...
  20. Welcome back Mark, first and foremost. And also hooray on the datewheels!!!
  21. Is that all, Randy? Generally I don't recommend that anyone buy a gen Sub. But in Tribal's case he would probably save money by doing so. Of course, he'd probably just mod the gen sub 4 or 5 times anyhow.
