  1. Oh!! My eyes!
  2. That MP Carrera is gorgeous! Great combo. Wear it well!
  3. It's quite possible that diamondcastle has cleaned up their act, but there is no doubt that they were once sending out less than perfect dials and being unreasonable about accepting returns.
  4. Just beware of seller "diamondcastle". This seller is known to ship scratched/dinged dials and is using stock photos. So the dial you receive won't be the dial pictured.
  5. The wonderful world of Rolex vintage... worn and uncared for commands the highest price tag.
  6. Yep... no question about it. "Unpolished" and "untouched" is what vintage collectors want. Because it's rare. Nowadays it seems most pieces are RSC amalgamations, or worse, seller-created frankens made to look vintage. Unmolested, original owner pieces... NOT easy to find.
  7. "Never polished" is a selling point on VRF. Most collectors aren't looking for restorations. But I suppose you could always do such a good job that you could get away with lying about it. But, in general, I agree with Watchmeister and gtanak.
  8. This one here looks especially good with a custom PVD/DLC finish:
  9. +1 Never refinish Rolex. The real collectors seek out vintage pieces that have never been polished.
  10. I remember when I was in high school my grandmother gave my dad this one (gen of course)... and I definitely thought it was the nuts back then! Congrats on finally piecing together the one you wanted!
  11. Unscrew 'em from the inside of the case.
  12. Love it. That makes it special... more than just an horological device.
  13. Nice one, J. Congrats on the pickup. Now let's get an older insert for it and spice it up a bit more!
  14. $1500 tops. Should be able to get it for less.

You're just full of mystery and intrigue, aren't you, B?!
  16. Ah, then stick with the Yuki. Our friend up north can make it work. For < $2k with gen movement, you'll be getting one hell of a franken.
  17. Well the Europeans now find themselves in very much the same situation as Americans in regards to their currency in the long run. The bailout of Greece's creditors is just the beginning and the moral hazard created by European politicians here all but ensures this won't end well. Up until early '08 I was invested in the Euro. I still have a bit lying around, but most of it has been converted to gold now. In the short term, I think the dollar's problems will outweigh the Euro's. But in the long run, they're both headed down the same path. And the writing has been on the wall for some time. It's not too late to reallocate and come out on top, though. So if you don't want to be burned by the "I told you sos", then don't be.
  18. Wow! That's a very cool correspondence!!
  19. Gen dial. I had one a lot like it. Yuki case is not ideal for gen movement. CGs will need work too. A better case might be in order for a project of this caliber.
  20. These are really not that hard to come by, J. $550 is about right. I'd hold out for a better one personally, or just buy from an AD.
  21. The 93150 stamp looks a little sloppy. But otherwise, I'd not question it.
  22. Fair enough. But "ebay" and "major problem" usually means something else entirely.
