  1. RSC part replacements happen all the time. Why are we calling these things "major problems"? I'm still confused
  2. I'd rather just cheat off of you.
  3. Hummmm...
  4. So a 16750 can have a 6.303,XXX serial?
  5. Seems to be a franken-gen in the wrong case?
  6. This is precisely why I don't guarantee UPO crystals anymore... Some of them just don't work and it is baffling.
  7. I think it does differ ever so slightly. Although my ETA wheels set to SAT 22 look identical to the above pic, and at normal size on the wrist good luck noticing any differences! Nice piece there, D!
  8. An argument against a guy who makes arguments against a watch brand: he needs a f*!%ing life! Don't like Rolex? Then don't strap one to your wrist, call it a day, and move on. Simple. Effective.
  9. I'm using it a long term hold... And I hope dollars are still being accepted by the time my kids head off to college. Because although tuition prices have skyrocketed in terms of dollars since my days in school (eons ago), it takes significantly less gold to buy a year of tuition now than it did back then.
  10. Mmm, vintage. Nice stuff R! I started buying gold in '01 and made my last big buy in late '08 when I picked up a bunch of these. Just plain ole bullion to toss on the stack. I don't have anything collectible... At that time in 2008, bing.com was giving 20% back on EBay gold purchases up to a cap, so I maxed out 3 accounts... 'twas the only time I've ever paid well below spot. And prices had dipped a bit, so I unloaded a few more dollars then as well. I'd like to see another dip at this point in order to initiate another buy, but even without one I'm fairly confident it'll fare better than dollars and I'm itching to buy more.
  11. You can get a valjoux/eta 7750. Many of use have transplanted them in to our 3717s. The hands won't be a perfect fit to the valjoux pinions, but a watchsmith can make it work.
  12. George Carlin, RIP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eScDfYzMEEw
  13. My friend, I just caught this post, and rest assured you'll be in my thoughts now and for a while. Let me just say that I am involved with March Of Dimes; I donate my time and money every year. And so I can tell you that there are more success stories that were born out of situations just like yours (and ones more dire as well) than you might imagine. Stay strong. All the best, B. PS, if you want to call for a chat, I'm always available.
  14. Cool. I think I want one for myself now!
  15. Fantastic shots here! TT, make sure to give me a ring the next time you're passing through my neck of the woods...
  16. Yea, the subdial print is better, but the ROLEX COSMOGRAPH print and font is more believable also on the newer dial. Looks like the T SWISS T totally disappears in the case though. Is that how it should be?
  17. Hehe!! Well today she arrived. Happen to be donning the 3717 on my wrist and took a side by side shot. And, pardon of course, the horrendous Blackberry photo. The V1 3717 dial (in the watch case) with The Zigmeister lume is an excellent stand in for the gen (on the left), IMO. Zig did an excellent job shaping the hour indeces. Keep in mind here, the loose gen dial is further from the viewing plane that the cased V1 dial:
  18. Agree, $4500 is nothing special in the pricing department for a 111H. Now it does include some used straps, and a bracelet. But nobody should ever wear a 111 on bracelet (IMO of course), and the provided straps may not even be to your taste. So I'd pass, find a better deal on smaller package, and then buy your own straps if needed.
  19. Wow. How will they ever top "perfect"? Ultimate was one thing, and perfect definitely tops ultimate... So I guess only genuine can top perfect, so the next logical step for them is to sell gens at rep prices!
  20. And to this point, if you take a look at RG, they have a higher post count in the Off Topic section of the forum than in the General Watch Discussion section of the forum. Now, this is in no way a derogatory comment about RG. Just a simple observation that each community caters to a slightly different personality, IME. Me personally, RWG is my primary home first and foremost. At first, simply because it came in to being before some of the others. And now, because I simply prefer the lower volume, focused discussions. And as others have mentioned, the personal friendships that have been forged make it special.
  21. Just one for me. It's a 7753, and I won't be replacing it.
  22. Lattice theory?
