  1. What's wrong w the V6F spectre edition 300?
  2. I shall be entering one finally as well....looking forward to those nice pieces
  3. So i just bought this from a great mbr, had 3.5 weeks no issues, no impacts no problems and it randomly died last night....until this point super reliable and I thought was better than my V6F,but now its left me blanked. Its fully mechanical obv, and fully wound...no movement, no noise, no flywheel idling, any ideas on what the problem may be? Dirty, broken? Common issues? Please help all advice and opinions welcome
  4. Yeah traveling and phone sucks to post from, and well the phone just is pissing me off too...I will get the pics up asap....FML i loved that piece
  5. Ok so I had the pride of wearing this 50k watch ALL weekend at a racing event they were repping, ironically I DID NOT WANT TO GIVE IT BACK AND ALMOST DROPPED THE $...W all the watches out there why in the world are these not repped yet?It can't be the difficulty-maybe the true carbon fiber, but other than split second model maybe I was wearing...any thoughts here on why some do or dont get made ever, obv more ppl want a ROLIE sub than these but FukMe wear one&you'd be pressed to part w the 50k.as well...amazing piece very fortunate to have a great working relationship w manufacturers...this HTML class. Value is http://www.blancpain
  6. interesting stuff, beautiful pieces. .let's see if they actually come through or come to market
  7. Its all good from Ohare next day arrived, held one day which is common place I guess I am hearing---just an update
  8. Yeah so mine is in Ohare now, from PT...so I guess we will see....I am hoping its NOT there on next update, right? lol
  9. Just saw this, and I can get that for ya asap, late night and i am buried in a ~circa 20's pocket watch teardown
  10. Anybody own one, if so, which one and why? I love their style, but I most of the time either A-Dont care who the person is and dont want them all over my watch, or B- Just appreciate the craftsmanship, but wonder in the "Novelty" of the item wears off, etc...? Thanks and happy weekend to all!
  11. Yeah w 5 cars I have to hide most watches lately from Fiance bc she only likes the guys watches, so much for the diamond etc etce tc I bought in oast, lol they sit there...should just hock em and buy another 1 solid piece for myself for ya know, all my troubles its caused
  12. LMAO, i got the GF now fiance into fast cars, and shes always loved watches has many cheap ones, so after she kept taking my Gens I have had to buy some Reps to give her....as a hairdresser she was getting Chemicals and $hit all over things not realiziing sentiments or costs lol....too many costly hobbies, as engagement present I threw in nice new TISSOT she wears daily now, matches the rings well
  13. Yeah I will def just play round w it and enjoy it, as long as I can get it somewhat running on time again I am fine, def not belaboring the point...also think it was closer to $400 my aunt paid as a gift, so theres some sentimental value but its interesting to dig into things, at least for me it is.
  14. Hmm imagine that, sites down, I found this one after digging through emails, was definitely purchased through here, and the Itallian vs teh Swiss movement option, aunt stated paid for Swiss ETA lol, oh well its beena fine piece and furthering my investigation skills and knowledge now. Yes the 16 steel submariner band always made me laugh... here is what was the site.. http://www.replicas2you.com/replica-rolex.php
  15. Thx for all the above comments...yeah it is an amazing piece ironically enough and I am unsure what sites I used for research earlier to find this piece. I will dig through old emails, I am sure I could get a name but doubt that the site would be around given its name....and yes the seconds and other features were always hit or miss. I will pull apart the coils and adjust hairsprings or replace bc as for accuracy it was top notch ironically, and looks legit many dealers have been thrown off by it even which is odd...of course I mainly love it bc I attend the race every yr for the past 2 decades, so thats where the lust came for this item.
  16. I def take a lot of pride in my vehicles and watches maintenance and structures. So, along w the gens and few reps owned I have had really good results, however w looking in to some new arenas here and learning more theres always those in the Valjoux, eta, seagull or asian clone camp only...in the end it is what I have surmised the less the complications of movements the better...so go base, and youre far more likely to have a longer term piece. My rep Daytona I just recently posted thread on after 4-5yrs gaining mins a day, is a Pain in the @$$ but i never cared if the chronos worked, it just kept darn good time and thats what mattered yet it was clean. When I worked undergrad in watch and custom jewelry store ppl have no idea what they do to their watches, soap scum being often the case...20-100k $ watches that just looked like they were left in a sink then the trash can for weeks, go figure...yet our reps, well some of ours are pristine...value what u love, others value what ppl think or are told what is "valued"
  17. yeah, exactly.until I get further I have no knowing..if you read (non sarcastic tone btw) above, I bought this 5 yrs ago (actually was gifted it, but gave the item heavily researched first)...LONG before I knew of other rep communities; and the dealer at the time which I could poss track down thru REALLY old emails was selling Asian, ETA or Italian movements...My aunt not being cheap person by any means I was assuming listened to me and actually bought the ETA until I had the need to actually open it finally today
  18. Given bkgd and my history, I will explain one thing I know assuredly...when entering the US, and I believe all of North America, you may have one item on your person or shipped that is of the same item if it is not authentic...so e.g. One Rolex, One Prada Purse, etc 1 ONE of anything, it is when there is more than 1....but it also depends on who is working the border/Mail that day. These are highly suspicious waters and yet many know and honestly dont care...others will shake down senior citizens saving on RXs so go figure. So reminder, keep it at 1! and you will never have an issue
  19. Hello, I have had this my only REP for going on 5 yrs--researched and long before I was here, or knew of other TD's> Great piece, even thru a racing accident was only mangled crystal that was replaced. However, it has over the past yr began gaining time like 3-5mins per day! 2 questions, first I paid for the swiss ETA and could someone please advise to make sure this is the Swiss ETA bc there are no markings or indicators other than than obv blue screw. Secondly, what needs to be adjusted or possibly replaced to help aid in the time control aspect, I realize there will be a +/- effect, but it was AMAZINGLY accurate before this past yr. Thanks everybody, and I appreciate all advice or opinions as always....I have learned a great deal over he past year from yrs of knowledge I already had, and this is a great place to keep expanding upon, so I thank you kindly for that
  20. To the point above, I have been working on engines an watches my whole life, and am proficient, but no PRO. I do have lathes for wood, metal, etc. The movements are getting more complex at times w 2 barrels; etc. I have found in person schooling-no longer locally though, and realistically its not worth the $ or time esp w the rates, but also being I already have my PhD this remains as a hobby and passion. Books are great and have many, but the OL aspect offers some insights...however, I would be more inclined to find a Mentor and work with occasionally is a great idea. As mentioned, have career, and solid there...I would truly love to have taken a Rolex sponsored watchmaking course we had locally here in the Twin Cities, but I never knew of it and it was ephemeral at best lasting only 3 yrs bc of LACK OF INTEREST, lol prob bc its a dying art but also bc NOBODY KNEW IT WAS THERE go figure Thanks for the responses guys, I am def still looking to buy more movements and cheaper watches to keep practicing was also part of the question. So if anyone knows where Eta's, Miyotas, Swiss, seagulls, etc can be purchased cheaply or on the mass bc I would like to continue building breaking apart diagnosing and swapping.
  21. So my early mechanical career began in 2nd grade w my first adult watch, a kinetic Seiko from the late 80s my dad gave me, Began collecting and pulling apart, then at 13 bought first car--- Flash Fwd to 30 years old and I still love wrenching, racing and building extreme cars and watches. I am seeking clarity on some of the common movements used in reps and wondering if other than Alibaba which is hit an miss if there's a good source I can buy whole watches cheap, or just movements. All except one piece I have are gen watches, but I am looking at some amazing pieces that are well done in the rep market currently, and am just interested in their movements and pieces before investing. Also, if anyone knows of more formal training other than the online TIMEZONE level 1-3 with their tool kits (looks like great program if anyone has any advice or has taken it) you can purchase I am very intrigued by furthering my knowledge. Thanks and much regards for your time
  22. dont quite understand it, but way cool, may have to order just to find out whats all the rage
  23. Wow, never seen it...PM me details please; stunning and maybe just made me change provider and direction for a new toy. I would love to see the rose gold one as well....NICELY DONE
  24. Hello, I am making my way over here as a HUGE watch enthusiast since I was very you, and a proud owner of many great real and 1-2 almost real. My concern is regarding the Big Bang series of which I have been immensely infatuated with and have seen many great examples here from your approved vendors. Could someone please advise on the V1 V2 Evolution confusion I am having here? Where is my money best spent as I plan on having this for a long time and am well versed in watch, car and well anything mechanical. What is a best price for these models, I see a range of $248-498. I know price doesnt always dictate quality, but any advisement would surely be appreciated. Regards-
