  1. I love 1675's ...and yours is awesome!! Wabi really is a beautiful thing Considering it's origins, it will always be more than just a watch... Wear and enjoy it in good health!! rgds Ed
  2. Hi, Are you sure it's a caliber 2783? The tudor eta caliber for this type of movement should really be 2784. while I Don't think i've seen a tudor 2783 before..Can you let us know to clarify? Thx Ed
  3. Well the movement is definitely genuine.... and so is the insert actually.... so i guess franken sounds good.... Cheers Ed
  4. Hi Alligoat, Yes the crown is a 700 twin lock... the 8mm tube would never fit in this case, it's too thin. Infact the case is closer in spec to the 7922, which is the tudor equivalent of the 6536, but as the case is stamped 7924, i couldn't bear to put a 6mm crown on it, so instead i comprimised and fit an extra 700 twinlock i had lying around... Oh, and BTW...in case the thinking may be going in the other direction for what ever reason, as it seems to be doing here and there...this 7924 is a rep.... Cheers Ed
  5. Hi Nick, ... Your knowledge is correct... There was/is no reference 7206 prototype Tudor...well at least not one that was produced by Tudor... 7206 i the reference for the 20mm riveted oyster bracelet used on the sub models... it was never a watch reference These are fantasy watches, created by who? I have no Idea.... But they are something else... There was a period where they were appearing on ebay and selling for 4-5K about 3-4 years ago..which was where i saw one for the first time... I found this on on German ebay, about that time, being sold by a german who listed this along with a fake tudor snowflake sub and fake red Ranger models being shipped out of Vietnam...(hmmmm, that story sounds familiar for some reason...) I also saw watchmaster's version posted on a forum many years ago, and that was the last i saw of them until J&W started to list them for sale about a year ago... I hope i didn't come off as trying to imply it was a genuine tudor, which it is foar from being...Just a cool watch that someone spent a lot of time developing and creating because he thought it was a cool idea... I for one, agree with him cheers Ed
  6. Thanks freddy, But the only original papers that would have come with this badboy would most likely have this s somewhere on them... While peoples reactions to the watch are generally mixed, they're always pretty amazed by what they see... Here's another Rolex version that has done the rounds at some high end dealers a few years back... custom projects - US Marines 1690 cheers Ed
  7. Or maybe it could be the Tudor from another planet... Here's a link for some more info.... AQ 7206 prototype cheers Ed
  8. Maybe some of you have seen this before, maybe not.. While the "story" behind this beast is murky and fantastic to say the least... let's just say that it has been refered to as the Prototype Tudor Submariner that was supposedly developed for the U.S.Marines in the 70's for testing as their new Mil-watch diver of choice.... but it was turned down as the costs involved to produce large quantites were too high.... Apparently there where only a handful of prototypes produced, and Antiquorum was responsible for selling most of them a few years back for a lot a' dough.... Yeah,well...O.K. .... With regards to the development and 'history" of this watch....I think the price wasn't the only thing that was too high... Either way, I hope you enjoy it for what it is... cheers Ed
  9. 5513 all the way!!! Besides....Who needs to know what day it is anyways.... Ed
  10. Demsey.....Is there any other way?.... BTW it's commonly thought the FEF 390 was based on a valjoux movement, as it states in that article, but it's actually based off of the fleurier (fef) 380, which is a manual winder... so in fact, the 390 was really a one off tudor movement never used by any other manufacturer.. I'd say that qualifies it as fairly rare, No? thanks for the kind comments! Ed
  11. Thanks Ubi... ......But it's not quite 8mm BTW, Happy B-day! Ed
  12. So after my offical introduction/forum outing yesterday, I figured I'd better make my first posted topic an interesting one... so her she is, my Tudor big crown 7924 project, a continuing work in progress. Working on a 390 and an aged gilt dial and hand set which should be ready soon.... so stay tuned to this bat channel.... Special thanks goes to the Zigmeister for helping me out with this one, your work speaks for itself!! cheers Eddog
  13. Hello all, While i've actually been hanging around these parts for quite a long time now, lurking behind the scenes, checking it all out, looking, learning, liking..... I've recently begun to get more actively involved, posting a bit here and there, Commenting on awesome projects i've liked, getting to know a few members i've had the pleasure of communicating with and getting to know... So I guess now it's time i made a proper introduction My name is Eddog, and i am ....well, I am apparently among a bunch of other people who share my illness.... because you pretty much all appear to be just about as crazy as I am. I have to let you all know that i have always been nothing less than astonished by the level of dedication, sheer passion, and knowledgeability of the various member here in this incredibly friendly, and genuine community. While some might recognize my name from the Rolex section (it's mainly Vintage Rolex and in particular Tudor subs that turn my crank), i have been digging around more and more lately in the various forums (thank goodness for the view new content option ) and quite frankly, i starting to get scared... because I like too much of what is going on here!!!! I'm looking forward to spending more time "out in the open", and getting to know the community a little better. Thanks for allowing me to participate! sending tons of respect, Eddog!!
  14. That is sweet!!! What movement is in that pretty baby, if you don't mind me asking? wear it well!! eddog.
  15. Nice one, although I've never been so keen on day dates, or non-sports oyster models in general.... the more I get "to know" them, the more they're "sinking" in... And that is definitely a classy watch, and definitely making me rethink my previous point of view... cheers Eddog
  16. Wow... I'm Kinda Diggin these IWC's.... what's that... do I feel something weird happening... Oh yeah, that's right.....It's called watchalohism... Cheers eddog
  17. Hey Man...If you can help me out with those bits.. I'll call you whatever you like while i'm-a-ticklin' ..... eddog
  18. [quote name='TeeJay' date='09 August 2009 - 03:25 AM' timestamp='1249809943' post='705083' Is the PVD sub a customized gen? It looks pretty awesome, tactical, but not too OTT about it
  19. Cool !!!! I love lollipops! I actually had my 76100 Tudor lollipop relumed (to be honest, because the original lume fell out of the hour hand... ) Not sure how he did it, but the person who relumed it for me did it flawlessly...as well he back painted it with white paint to add strength and extra adhesion to the lume. Cheers eddog
  20. While, (if asked nicely enough to do so;-) I may be willing to tickle you pink, ... I won't call you shirley while doing it..LOL Re: the so perfectly coined "Destro Tudor" (nice one BTW TeeJay), There is genuine precedent for such a beast.... here's some shots of a 94010 MN tudor (French Navy), obviously set up for a lefty on the team.. ...Which was the direct inspiration for my little pet project.... ...The next stage of which will be somehow inspired by this little beauty... Cheers!! eddog
  21. Hey JoJo, I'm an old school, kamikaze bidder, and I guess I placed my 200$ just bid after you had placed yours, as the message read that mine was not as high as the current high bid...but with only 5 seconds to go, ....there's not much to do But that's OK, .... because i have a couple others as well .. Cheers eddog!!
  22. A ha!! Sniped in style you beat me by 9.49$ !!! ...Oh well, no use cryin' over spilt milk, Hope it will be used well best regards, eddog!!
  23. Hey Gavidoc, Actually, 94010's did come with lollipops...probably at the end of the production, but they exist.... While not mine, This one was for sale a while back on another forum...stunning totally original mint watch with papers and everything else you could ever dream of.... Looks good with the aged lume too, doesn't it? Cheers Eddog!
  24. Wow, Looks great Gavidoc!! really nice job... If you're feeling adventurous, maybe you can experiment with clipping out the mercedes part of the hour hand, and try to make it a lollipop..that could be really cool!! Love the left hander crown BTW ;-) Eddog
