A few weeks ago I saw a guy in the bar wearing the yellow Panerai that sssurfer posted (2nd pic.) and he was also wearing a nice t-shirt saying "ARMANI" with a font something like 500...very discrete...I bet that was a gen t-shirt too... EDIT : forgot to mention that he was in company of a nice lady, with a plastic surgery done on lips and breasts (it could be seen, beleive me! )...so it seems that the yellow pannie fantasy has a lot of sex appeal in that yellow dial

Do you tell people at work that you are wearing reps?
dadog13 replied to Jawo's topic in General Discussion
since I am the General Manager in my company...I think that everyone thinks that I wear gen's...but in the end I really doubt that anybody in my company is aware of the brands of reps I have...but when I am asked, I do tell that the nice watches I have are reps... -

lately I've been looking at number of reps that are really fantasy watches, usually powered by the asian 21j movement...but that I like the look of...really, there are a number of them...just haven't yet decided to get one of them because I have always some nice rep that I wanna get and not enough funds to get all of them...so usually the fantasy ones get in 2nd place and have to wait for better financial situation... regarding this fantasy reps I really do not care if the subdials really work and so on...it is just the first look on the dial and the case that makes me wann have them...and for the asian movement inside I couldn't care less...it's a cheap but good movement as far as I have been informed.... so guys, do you have some of your fav fantasy reps....do you, like me wanna have them or are you just the type of collectors of reps that are good copies of gens? and if you have some of those fantasy reps that you like a lot...please post pics!

you are welcome!

all the MARINE series from the Breguet is really great looking...I love the breguet hands...really nice...the dial...yummie...then the case design...movements I don't even need to comment...everything is so perfect and all together makes it somehow special... just near me I have a watch magazine with the Breguet La tradition on the cover...that's one sweet watch too!

just found another pricelist for you, it's valid from the 01.04.2007 here is the link : h**p://www.paneristi.com/reference/pricelists/prices2007.html

i really hate tequila...it's the only alcoholic drink that makes me vomit just by smelling it... ...I can drink practicly anything...but tequila no way...I used to drink it since 3 years ago, was never a huge fan of it, but since then....no way Jose! dunno what really made me hate it so much...what was the switch that brought to that...
-
I love that one too...but we'll never have a rep of that GEM and you know that...I am a huge Breguet fan...love them...one of my favourites is the following one......there is also a RG version of this one...pure and simple class...the ultimate watch for me...considering the price of this one (around 10.000$) maybe I'd could get one day one 4 myself!

here is a link to the Official Panerai pricelist for the 2006 posted by sssurfer...prices are quoted in

you could always do it this way (do you like it?) :
-
there is a lot of "love" invested in this one...it+s your baby and you definitely shouldn't sell it...you'll regret it one day if you do so...keep it and you'll see that you want wear all the time the rollie...some change in the daily beater will be for sure and this one is a great alternative to the sub... in the end if you decide to sell it...shoot me a PM to see how much are you asking for it...

Any mechanical reliability update from Portu Chrono Owners?
dadog13 replied to crystalcranium's topic in The IWC Area
I didn't get mine from a group buy...but I have it...the watch works only when it is worn, it has little or none PR...and sometimes even on wrist it just stops working... It is a beauty however, just the regular problem with the mvt with sec @6...this can be fixed by taking off some gears and freezing the sec subdial... is it worth buying? yes if you find a nice 2nd hand for 150$...or less!... do not remember the price of it when it came out....but definitely even now, the new one is not worth buying...the high price cannot justify the beauty of the rep with the problematic mvt -
I am personally waiting for one of the following models :
-
I agree... but after you do the review Pug...send it to me for inspection...to see if it is ready for diving, to check the water resistance...to check and disassemble to movement for closer inspection and so on...

teejay asked you the right questions and gave you the right answers... but I would get definitely a nice modded PAM...lately got the fully modded 127&217...and I've been wearing them for the past few weekends...other just sit in the watchbox..
-
If you had seen many of the wealthy members wearing watches...you would think that the watches they wear are gens...but you would be wrong...very possible that you have seen a rep...
-
is there in your collection a rep or reps that you would never ever sell? I have currently 15 different reps...and from all of them, I'd never ever sell only a couple of them... 1. Breitling Seawolf titanium 2. Fully modded PAM127 3. Fully modded PAM217 4. PAM027 (I plan to do some mods...but still to come) this are the pieces that I'd never sell...there are some others that I have in plan of buying and that will join the 4 listed above... At my beginings of rep collecting I was looking more to quantity...but lately I prefer quality over quantity...and the 4 listed above will be my faithfull companions for a long long time!

really impressive work...this vintage reps are really great looking when made by such an expert like FF!

a lot of members have ACTIVELY PARTICIPATED IN THIS AND OTHER PROJECTS poinitng out all the flaws to make it correct as most possible... YES, they did so that they could have a better rep...but also have helped dealers to have (let's say) a 1:1 rep (and have a better price on it)...and then the same dealers that USED this help of members (community) go and charge them (us) so much $$$ for this rep....this is unbelivable... so dealers, go and charge elwhere this $$$ for those 1:1 reps...as this IWC, HBB and so on...without the help of this boards this reps would never reach this level...because some "hawks" with a lot of attention to details have contributed in this evolution that we are seeing in the past year(s) with some great reps... Reading the 20+ pages from members pointing out all the improvements the sample pieces need to be corrected...I WONDER HOW MANY OF THEM WILL BE ABLE TO BUY THIS REP? that's just my opinion but I could be wrong...
-
nice collection...definitely different from all the others, because I cannot see nor a Rolex nor a PAM...wow...you must be one of the 1000 members who don't have one...Love the VC and the PP from your coll...the PP I wanted to get for my father last year but i decided to go with the IWC...well, doesn't matter... wear them well!

don't bother yourself...by now, he is probably closed!
