  1. I have been chasing this buy for at least 4 months. It is the only watch my lady has wanted. Now that we have this one coming, maybe she will think of another one. I first tracked sales of 4-5 of them. Got a price fix at about $450. I have bid on about 5 of them.. Then there was a drought of them, but then they went crazy! ... $520 ... $714 ... $910, then $917 !! What! I see about 1 or 2 a week of the specific watch we wanted ... circa 1970s, Must de Cartier, 20 micron gold plate over sterling, champagne dial. There were two that popped up that were what we wanted. I moved to nail down the first of those and expected it not to go so high. Won it today at $505, $525 delivered. Happy to have a done deal.
  2. Welcome, jot9011! Yep! Lots of great (and straight) information available here. Ask, and ye shall ...
  3. Hello, hero, from Houston, TX, USA No need to be shy here. You will find welcoming kindred souls here, eager to be helpful. What are your watch interests? ... or have you sorted that out yet?
  4. Small size, I guess, would be the sizes for ladies watches, in the range of 24-28mm. For example, the Rolex Lady Datejust is 24mm.
  5. Evey Saturday morning I have coffee and conversation with three computer buddies. We talk about what things we have done the past week, what we have heard about the technologies we work with and/or are interested in ... and, we talk about one another's other nterests. A couple of weeks agon the talk turned to watches ... and, somehow the issue of wearing one's watch to bed or not came up. To my surprise, I was the only one among us that wears his watch to bed. I sleep with my watch on, my buddies take theirs off before going to bed. I take my watch off only to shower. How about you?
  6. You have some beautiful old machinery there! It would be such fun to get them running and in good shape again. I have a couple of oldies, too, one of them about 85-90 years old (a ladies pendant watch by Columbia). I am taking one of these oldies to my watchsmith this weekend. Thanks for the nice pix, too. It was a pleasure to see them.
  7. I have a $40 casio that is designed to be plus or minus 20 secs a month, less than a second a day. 10 secs a month is pretty good, I think, but not unreasonable.
  8. What arrangement of the subdials and the exact subdial functionality (running secs@9, etc) is "native" to the Asian 7750 design? And, is that the very same native arrangement for the Swiss 7750 which the asian emulates? By "native", I mean with no/least additional gearing. By the way, what is the power reserve we should expect for this movement, in a native arrangement? Thanks. Inquisitive minds want to know.
  9. I 'tested' them by voluteering to be scammed, BUT ... I put "Ying" in a box and offered him only three options: 1. A carrot, 2. a stick, or 3. a "willow tree switch". He knew he could not earn the carrot, certainly did not want to endure the stick, and therefore elected the switch. For a short version of events see my post on RWG here. for a longer version and greater detail see a copy below of the message I sent to Ying. Sorry it is so long. ## Message begins here: Okay, Ying. As I said, I am ready to buy this watch, but before I do I think it is only fair for you to know what I am about. Have you ever heard of the web site, RWG.cc ? RWG is a great web site for replica enthusiasts. It is populated by many expert replica watch collectors. It also strives to provide guidance to those who might like to by a replica watch but don't want to be scammed. RWG has about 8,000 forum members, gets about 15,000 hits a month. I am not an expert replica collector ... but I am not a neophyte either. I am a member at RWG. I have been studying the replica watch market for months (some of the members at RWG have been collecting replica watches for 10+ years.) I found the most difficult part of getting into replica watches as a hobby ... as a collector ... has been to find 'honest' dealers. I found YinMax.com about the same time a few months ago that I found RWG. RWG has saved me hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars. They are my shield against scammers. There have been a few posts on RWG about YinMax.com. If you go to rwg.cc, register as a member and use the search facility to search for "yinmax.com", you will find three threads that include comments about your site. One of those threads is a discussion about whether you are a scammer, or not. The discussion was inconclusive but judged you probably are a scammer. The decision was inconclusive because no one had actually tested you with a [one or more] purchase. Well, I am here to test you with a purchase ... and if this one goes okay, then to test you with another, somewhat more challenging, buy. Actually, I have been 'testing' you for a few months by requesting information ... to see how you communicate with prospective buyers, and to see if your answers seemed truthful and reasonable. So far , you have done pretty well. So, as I said, I am ready to buy this watch. But if I buy this watch and you don't deliver ... or don't deliver what we have agreed to ... or don't take care of any customer satisfaction problems ... if I get SCAMMED in any way, I assure you everybody in the world that goes to the internet and who can spell R-E-P-L-I-C-A will know you are a scammer and you won't be able to sell popcorn at a movie theatre. On the other hand, if you are real and can and do deliver on the promise your web site implies, this could be a huge win for you! If I find you are real through and through, I will introduce you into and recommend you to the RWG community and you could, over a short time, become a (one among several) favored seller to this community of replica collectors. I have heard the world wide replica market totals in the range of $2.6 billion. The RWG community is a pathway to legitimate wealth for a dealer of high integrity. The RWG community is presently looking to add one or two more good dealers to their cadre of about a dozen good dealers. I can help you with that, if you are real. So .... what shall it be, Ying? If you encourage me to proceed with this buy, and others to follow, and those transactions are successful for both of us, that could be a pathway to a pot of gold for you. On the other hand if you encourage me to make this buy and you prove to be a scam, I will crucify you and hang you out to dry! If you discourage me from making this buy ... if you don't respond positively to this message ... I will just complete the discussion at RWG about YinMax.com and they will know FOR SURE not to attempt to do business with you. Your choice. 10. A nice piece of work, Ken, that helps us better know and understand one who has contributed so much to this great community. Just yesterday I wanted to know how to deal with a newly received rep with an Asian 7750. Where else to turn but to the writings of The ZigmeisterZumba. And, it is so nice to see you 'clicking on all cylinders', again!
  11. What a pile of rubbish! But ... everybody has a right o their opinion, right? ... even if misguided. I am a computer guy and I have been a Linux enthusiast since about 1994. Linux was "born" in 1992. Linux is a fine, community developed computer operating system that is free to all who would want to use it. I am composing this message from my Linux system, my primary computer.
  12. Pug, Scams of every kind depend on an irrational 'passion' burning in the "scamee" ... in some cases it would be greed ... among us eager replica enthusiasts it might just be the burning desire to find a specific watch, that is not offered by our dealers. One of the things YinMax does is show product for virtually every watch offered by all the fine watch manufactures ... and while they use product images from the gen sites they even show pictures of the cameras "they use" to take their pictures of their offerings. I am telling you it is a very well done scam site, and a lot of folks are surely caught it that web. I found YinMax just about the time I found RWG. IAt that time I had been working the replica market for about 3 months to find an "honest" supplier. I 'found' the "Grade One Swiss replica" sites, all high priced scams. Then I found YinMax.com. It is so believeable! I told my wife, "I am amazed I trust that site in China more than I trust these "grade One" sites in the US. ??" BTW, I have no idea , really, that YinMax is in fact in China, but you would send money to a chinese bank, on purchase. I was certainly ready to buy watches from yinmax.com. Thank God for RWG!
  13. I "volunteered" to be scammed. Firstly, I had been tracking them and testing them for 2-3 months, by asking questions about specific offerings and their business practices (Warranty, returns, etc). [First rule of safe replica buying: communicate with the seller ... ask questions. If they don't communicate, don't buy.] And they did very well with their communications ... prompt responses ... reasonable answers. Looked good! But, in a prior post on RWG, I suggested I might buy a YachtMaster II from them. I was strongly encouraged NOT to do so. I began looking very carefully. I searched for "yinmax.com" on our forum and found the other thread in which YinMax was discussed. The discussion there was just not conclusive as to whether yinmax was a scam or not. I determined to find out. The YinMax site is very well done, as a scam. The clues and come-on are very subtle and not easy to catch by newbies like me. But, I was looking for a source for an IWC Pilot Calssic midsize. I couldn't find it among any of our 'preferred' sites [First good clue: If our dealers don't have, don't offer it, there is probably a reason. The reason is, there is no such replica presently available.] I went to YinMax and asked a few questions about the IWC Pilot Classic midsize they offered. Then I said I was ready to buy. But then I sent a message saying I was truly ready to buy but that I was also testing them as a possible scam site. I told them I was a member of RWG. I encouraged then (actually, 'him', Ying, by name) to visit RWG, to register and to search for "yinmax.com" and read what our folks are saying about them. I pointed out that RWG has 8,000 members and gets 15,000 hits a month ... that RWG was looking to add 1 or 2 new good dealers and that - if our transactions were successful and he proved he was a straight up dealer - I would introduce him into RWG ... a gold mine for him! But then I also told him if he scammed me, I would make sure everybody on the internet who could spell R-E-P-L-I-C-A wouid know of YinMax and know they are a scam. But I further said that he had another possible course ... if he discouraged me from making the buy, perhaps by just not answering my message, I would only make sure the good folks at RWG knew he was a scam. Well, that was a week ago. So far as I am concerned, Ying has sent us a clear message. He has decided to discourage me from making the buy. He does not want to be exposed to the world and he knows he cannot collect on my offer to lead him to a pot of gold. I was fully prepared to live up to every commitment I made to him. And, now I know of so many other signs and clues at yinmax that truly shout, "SCAM". RWG is GREAT! RWG has power to protect and help replica enthusiasts! RWG is the safe haven for replica buyers.
  14. "If it looks too good to be true, it almost surely is." I have tested this site. YinMax.com is definitely a SCAM site! And, collectively, y'all have identified so many of the clues and signs of deceit. Yeah, RWG! RWG is GREAT ... it is the safe haven for replica enthusiats! YinMax.com is definitely a SCAM.
  15. YinMax.com is a scam site ... a well done, subtle scam site. There is another thread which discusses this site, but it is not easy to find. I establish this thread to make this information a little more findable on our forum. Here is a link to that other thread: YinMax.com This other thread was not really conclusive about whether the YinMax site was a scam or not. Well, I have tested them and thay are definitely a scam site! ... very sutble and - I think - slick scam site. It is sufficiently well done that it is not easy for newbies (like me) to detect, but when you know more the signs are all over the place. Happy hunting ... from straight up dealers!
  16. Yes. I guess anything between 28-37mm would be counted as "mid size" or intermediate size. The Air King at 35mm is a beauty! While I am not a big Rolex fan (I do have a Rlx rep, though) that watch might cause me to re-consider on that one and perhaps plan to put it on my "to-buy" list. However, I was really hoping to discover there are reps of the IWC Classic Pilot midsize (34mm) and the IWC Portofino midsize (also 34mm). I had both of those on my list, but have recently realized no such reps exist. I will have to consider going up to the IWC Classic Pilot Mark XV and the larger size of the Portofino. Having browsed today thru every collector/seller's web site I can find, I am obliged to conclude there just isn't a rep of those 34mm watches. Miss Vicky is right now exploring what watch to select from among the IWCs. I have the Portofino on m list because she encouraged me to consider that, in an earlier thread. I had hoped to return the favor, with the 34mm. No such luck. My browsing today may cause me to decide to replace the Pilot mark XV with the IWC fleiger ... or just add it to my list (Damn! That list is getting out of control!) Have fun!
  17. I would have been interested in getting two midsize (34mm dia case) watches, but I cannot find any (except at scam sites offering bogus options). There are so many nice watches in midsize, great for young men or for ladies ... or for those of us who - on certain occasions - want to wear a smaller, more discreet instrument on our wrists. I would have thought surely somebody would have produced rep components for mid size watches.
  18. Bazz, Very nice! I think you achieved your objective admirably.
  19. In an earlier post about the term "Asian 7750" there is an indication the Asian 7750 in certain circumstances MAY be quite reliable: If it comes from a certain factory in China, but not from others. and/or if you have it serviced immediately upon receiving it and before you use it. So the question is ... What is the best movement in a replica for watches with sub dials? And does it make a difference whether it is a watch with subdials at 12-9-6 or at 9-6-3? ... only two sub dials uses a different movement? If I get a watch with a certain movement and it dies, can I find a replacement movement? Would getting another movement be better than trying to get part(s) and attempting to repair it, if it should require parts? I do not have a specific case. Just looking for geneeral guidelines. Thanks.
  20. Cell phone ... hmmmm?? My cell phone does not report seconds, only hour and minutes. Maybe there is a way to adjust this presentation on my cell phone to show seconds, as well. If y'all don't set TO THE SECOND then a cell phone or cable box would certainly be accurate enough. I guess, even the position of the the sun and stars might be adequate.
  21. I see references to an "Asian 7750". You know, aisia is a big area of this world. To me that term could mean China, or Japan, or Taiwan, or Thailand, or ... I have also seem some movements referred to as "new Japan 7750". I have seen "Japan 7750". I think I have seen references to a chinese copy of the Swiss 7750. Maybe there are even multiple sources of the 7750 design out of Switzerland. What are the variations in the 7750 and how is the proper way to refer to them? What are the relative merits of the variations of the 7750? What are the precautions and "best practices" to be used with which variants of this movement? As an example, I think I have heard (read) Pug suggest (no, it was probably The Zigmeister) 7750s in a newly purchased replica should be serviced before use. I think that referred to one specific variant. Which one? Maybe I am overlooking a prior write-up on this subject. If so, please tell me I am silly not to have found it first and send me that way. Thanks.
  22. I set my watch - whichever watch I will be wearing that day - each morning. I use a certain preferred source of time as the time to which I set my watch. I was wondering how other folks do this? ... if they set their watches each morning? If, perhaps, y'all use a better time source that do I? I use http://www.TimeAndDate.com/worldclock/personalapplet.html I have used the official U.S. time-clock @ http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Central/d/-6/java But I like the presentation of the personal world clock best. Good day to all (Good Morning here) !
  23. Mike, Go to Rolex.com. Look at the watch first showing there. The second hand will be moving. Compare your rep to it. I realize it is a computer simulation of a real Rolex, but you would think Rolex would want that presentation to be truly faithful, expecially of features it believes are plus features for them. I received a Rolex President Day-Date last week. when I compare my rep to their web site presentation - side-by-side - they sweep identically! Or ... drop by the Rolex store (leave your rep at home or in your pocket). Look carefully at the genuine item. You will se it is not a perfectly smooth sweep; it displays 'ticks', too..
