That is what I did

Is there anyone that have bought the latest batch of DSN Ultimate swiss PAM 217 destro ( H- movement ) ?
On the pictures I have seen it looks like the finish of the movement bridges are DIFFERENT !!
You could see that some of the bridges ( I mean the two bridges at the top of this picture ! ) has a more rough finish than the long "centerpart" of it.
Can anyone comment this if it is very obvious and make You notice it instantly ?
Otherwise a very nice watch !!!!!!!!!!!

I have just got the longer cannonpinion and hourwheel ( to fix the "hole" in the middle of the hour and minute hands ) from Cousins and want to know me HOW to mount the new cannonpinnion and hourwhell on my Fiddy ?
Is it "just" to press the new canonpinnion into the hourwheel and that it !!!!??? ( I mean that after that You "just" mount the dial and hands !!! )
I have seen pictures of the cannonpinion where it is some "markings" on the pinion ?????
Can anyone help me please ?????????????

I guess I has been lucky when I bought my Fiddy ( swiss swanneck movement ! ) from Silix because he send a picture of exactly the watch that he send to me BEFORE he send it to me ( I know because I had looked at lots of differnt things that "matched" the watch I got !
And I also got a picture ( of the superlumed hands/dial for my Fiddy from Angus ( at least as bright as the original ! ) BEFORE he has send it to me.
It looks to me that we are getting fooled by pictures, it does not matter what pictures he showed to you if at the end he will send you a different watch. pictures are irrelevant and can be from another watch that he already sold.Is all about the money

I just got a superlumed dial/hands from Angus ( Puretime ! ) for my Fiddy and I must say that I am impressed !!!!!
It is really glowing like the genuine one or if not BETTER!!!???
I can really recommend him !!!!!!!!!!

Where can I buy the longer cannonpin and hourwheel for my swiss eta 6497 ?
Anyone else than at Cousins ?
-
Thanks a lot for that !
No, to do it right, you will need both. The Cannon Pinion to remedy the recessed pin problem and get the gen look, and the longer hour wheel to be able to install -
Why do I have to change the hourwheel when I made the " modding " with the recessed cannonpin ?
Do I not ONLY have to change to a taller cannon pin ?
-
Is it not the cannon pin that You have to sand down ?
The part you need is H3 with a height of 3.15 and corresponding hour drive as well. You will have to sand the back of your hands to get a perfect flush fit so don't try forcing the hands down lower when they are not flush -
Thanks for that information!
I love this forum where You can get almost EVERY question that You have !!!
This is normal. Most mail-order companies require accounts.Buying from Cousins is the same as buying from Amazon, for instance. As long as you know what you're after, it's amazingly easy.
-
Thanks for that !
I have mailed Sam at Cousins about payment but no answer from him.
Do anyone know how You order from them ?
I read that You have to register an account to buy from them !!!???
Swiss, no reputable material house would touch an Asian copy movement with a barge pole (unless explicitly stated - like the Cousins 'China' range). -
May I ask how much paid for it ?
Got it from nite, it's the DSN 217 with the Swiss movement and superlumed by Vac. Lume is like my GEN 111 or even better! A correct caseback from Davidsen is on order! On a Strapworks Trident 26/26 160/90.
I am very happy with it and once more I would like to thank nite for this great piece!
Here are some quick shots:
-
Thanks !
Do You know if it is asian ETA that Cousins sell or swiss ?
They fit - just make sure you select the long ones! -
Will the longer cannon pin and hourwheel from Cousin fit in my swiss eta 6497-1 movement ?
I ask because You find the parts when looking at UNITAS parts NOT Eta !
Perhaps it is the same parts ????
-
I think it a rep because of the novodiac shckabsorber that NO genuine have AND the text on the movement is way to thick so it is definitley a replica!!!!
-
I just got the 22 mm rubberstrap for my UPO watch from Pam 111 ( only 49 $ instead of 68 $ from the others in the cartell ! ) and I supose it is exactly the samre!!!???
http://www.pam111.com/product_info.php?products_id=2271
And I must say ( as othres have already said !!! ) it really is a HUGE difference between this stap compared to the one from Silix.
The Silix one is made of very sticky rubber that attracts a LOT of dust AND it is NOT so comfortable to have on Your arm as the one from the cartell !
BUT You have to use springbars that is 1,8 mm ( or 2,0 mm ) but it was VERY difficult to put on the strap with the 1,8 ( 1,78 mm to be exact ! )
AND You must also think about the compressed lengh of the springbar because if You can not compress it enough then it will be almost impossible to put on the strap. My springbar was 21,65 mm compressed and they were just on the limit to copress enogh !!!!

It is NOT an Swiss 6497-2 because You could see that on the spokes of the balance that has "wide" spokes instead of straight ones, and I have NEVER seen a swiss 6497-2 movement on a replica!!!
I bought my first Pam the other day, a Luminor 111H. Took the caseback off today and cannot find an ETA stamp. It was sold as Swiss and i'm wondering if our resident experts can chime in and tell me if its asian or swiss and what are the tells. Are there any Unitas that arent stamped? Thanks in advance
-
I think it is a real swiss 6497. I can see that when You look at the spokes of the balance that look different on a chineese one and the incablock shockabsorber look like the original Panerai ( swiss eta 6497 ) one!
Hi everyone, please help. I am on the verge of buying this PAM111 based on the fact it is supposed to be a SWISS Unitas 6497-2 movement.I have searched the forums, looked at lots of pics but still none the wiser.
Can some of you more experienced people help me please ?
The pic is linked here:
Thanks.

I confirm. My fiddy can get the movement & dial comfortably removed from the back.
Strange that You CAN take it out from the backside and that can NOT ?
Perhaps it is different versions on them ?
What tool do You use when You open Your Fiddy ?
-
I really love this forum because of all the good answers ( well not ALL the ones perhaps ! ) that You all give on this forum !
But You have to think twice BEFORE You do anything on a watch if You are not 100% sure what You are doing !
On my Fiddy the bezel is not pressed to the bottom ( against the case ) all the way round it so I have to press the bezel a little further down right ?
But then I must be VERY careful and use the right presstool adapter so the crystal will not crack right ?
Can the case be that some of the ones that have had their crystals exploded or cracked ( on the their FIDDYS !!! ) have used the WRONG tools when putting the crystal/bezel back again after they have done for exaple superlume and other modds on the watch ?
Perhaps there has been tensions in the crystal AFTER it has been mounted back again, and the crystal have cracked/exploded later when the crystal has got hit agains something ???
-
You need to remove both the case back and the bezel to remove the movement.
The silver forged case openers on ebay (the hind with a handle on one side) don't fit without a lot of work with a file to open them out a bit. The alloy one from the dealers here is a better bet.
Thanks
Is the crystal fitted in the bezel or does it fit directly to the case ?
-
It came with my UPO Casino Royale, which I sold to TA8088. He can confirm these are 1:1.
Is it the same type of rubber as the genuine, a little bit harder than Siix one ?
Not as soft and dirt sensitive as the Silix one ?
-
Has anyone tried the tool ( in aluminium from the cartell dealers ( 45 $ ) !! ) for removing the caseback on the Paneara Pam 127 ( Fiddy )
And can anyone confirm that You can take out the movement/dial from the back of the watchcase ( I have heard that someone told on this forum that You had to take away the crystal to take out the movement ! ) ?
-
Has anyone bought the omega UPO 22 mm rubberstrap from Trusty Times and confirm that is NOT the same as the one Silix sell ?
http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?main...16847b4b9954857
Can anyone post some pictures of that strap please !!!
