I got a case some days ago from Yuki, I guess from his new source. It is the worsest case I've ever seen in my rep time! Everything is wrong, like lug shape (there is missing a lot of material!), lughole position (some higher some lower), rehaut too shallow, crownguards way too thick - and the two biggest things are, the tube is not centred between the CG's and there are between the lugs only 19,2 mm!? That means you can not put a endlink between the lugs without shaving it down, or the lugs (that's what I did)!
So if you don't have the tools and skills to correct these things, stay better away from Yuki!!!
BTW, there was never a 1680 case from MBK! Thery are all 5513 engraved, also the rehaut and inner case dimensions are made to fit a 5513 dial. I tried often to put a gen 1680 dial in these cases, but the dial diameter is too big. Only a correction on a lathe will make it 1680 like. On my next project I will use a MBK 1680 case, which will be machined to take a gen 1570. After that it goes straight to Phong, he should regrave the case to 1680. I think this will be the best looking 1680...
Also don't underrate the cartel subs! They are also very good. Only the short CG's sucks...
My MBK 1680 HAS 1680 nicely engraved between the lugs
I am waiting for the relumed dial from The Zigmeister to build it
It is from Narika nov 2011

Thanks, but I have not yet got the dial (just the pictures of it!) so when I get it I will put the watch together and take some nice pictures of it, even glowshots

That really is one of the best pictures I have seen of of watch
And one of the best reps to
-
That silver dial is so nice
I have that dial nos that I bought 10 years ago and still have not mounted in a case
You could only find that dial on a limited 500 pcs. in white gold and that dial looks stunning
The speedmaster is a classic
-
Update:
Gone are the ugly yellow rep font, replaced with more gen. looking gold leaf....
The project continues....
That was a really nice upgrade
I can not understand why the factories have used Yellow paint instead of gold paint when it is such an easy thing to right
BTW the swanneck screw fits perfectly from the H-factory 6497-1 movements but You have to be careful and it a little tricky to screw it in as the screw is so tiny and can almost dissapear into the movement but it looks much better than the seagull swanneck screw
-
That one is out of stock for the movement and it is only avaliable without pearl
-
Nice sub
Are You sure the insert is genuine?
-
Thanks a lot for the info
Is there not ANY question You could NOT answer
?
Then I will send my MBW 1680 dial for relume to The Zigmeister
Ps all the dates on my MBW 1680 is very nicely aligned in the datewindow and the "numbers" looks quite nice (exept for the "3" )
-
How will the datewindow be aligned if I put a GENUINE 1680 DIAL on a swiss eta 2836-2 movement ?
Will the dates be perfectely centrered in the datewindow or ????

I have a pair if You want

If it is for a gen watch, here, here &, if you know what you are doing, here. Otherwise, I would get 1 of these, which is effectively what Rolex fits during service.
Does this insert has a proper lume dot at 12 a clock or is it only the insert?
-
Nice sub You threre
Looks very nice but the hourhand looks strange or
?

?

http://www.puretimewatch.com/product/rolex-93150-stainless-steel-bracelet-with-580-endlinks/
What is Your opinion regarding Angus 93250 bracelet with 580 endlinks!
Does this 580 endlinks takes 2,0 mm genuine springbars and are they any good???
-
The ones in the top picture look flat, though.
They might look flat but indeed are rounded like the genuine hands
-
As highoeyazmuhudee very intresting review of hands and as I also think that the WM9 hands are one of the better looking hands I post s picture of them:)
-
Thanks a lot for that comparision
I think that the WM9 is one of the better ones as well
-
Are you aware that, in most cases, 'replacement' case = aftermarket case? So I would check out some gen forums before using this case as a guide.
This sub was for sale on the bay a week ago and it had the serial number starting with 4444.... and the seller said it was a replacement case. I will show a picture of the serialnumber tomorrow
-
a lot of older ones are like this as well. some are worn away from polishing, some are just different shapes to begin. ive done some MBK cases this way
Thanks
Is that CG only moded on the inside of the CG?
-
I saw some intresting pictures of a 1680 sub on the net and it has a new Rolex replacement-case see pictures!
Look at the CG on it how it looks like when it is NEW and not polished So !!!!
It looks a lot more fat than the "a lot of times polished CG style" CG:s!
I was thinking that I would shave just the inside of the CG on my brand new MBW 1680 sub and it would look quite good compared to the genuine, not so overpolished CG!
What is the experts opinion about that ?
-
you definitely should. it also acts as a point of wear instead of rotating on the bare mid case metal
There WAS a washer
, I did not noteced it at the first as it was sitting in the bezel under the insert, not loose as on the 16610
-
Thanks a lot for that info highoeyazmuhudee
My bezel IS easy to turn when I press it down and not so easy to turn when I do not press it down
But I think I will order one of those washers from Clarks as they do not cost more than 6 $
