  1. So is the 029 (GMT) with the 2893 as good & reliable as the 027 and a must-have too? There seems to be more availability of the 029 than the 027... I think I actually will have to kill someone...to rob him off the money for all the reps I want to buy!! I have tried singing in the streets, but no good...
  2. Damnnnnnn!!! With all that hype and positive comments you guys made me sickly envious and in desperate need of one of those beauties... Who do I kill to get one?? By the way, I am quite the newbie here so either someone tells me what a cyclops is or I will just take an eyeball off the watch!
  3. I guess your reply means that the PR works as the genuine too, dadog... Envious i am, believe me... And the 029, sweet too... So sweet I actually had it on my dream list as for future gens... ;-)
  4. I wonder if anyone has the 027 or 028 rep with Power Reserve that Andrew shows in his website (Josh doesn't update his website as much...). Davidsen does not seem to have this model... Does anyone know how good is this rep compared to DSNs? Is the PR really functional? I have read about some PRs of the PAMs showing "45" hours reserve (max is 40 but the indicator moves beyond the max). For a rep so expensive I would not want to buy an too-noticeable rep neither because of simple flaws or because of the PR problems... Thx if anyone can help.

    PVD 111g

You are just so right about PAMs being an acquired taste... Only a few months ago (very few) when I joined this forum I simply could not understand all the hype about the PAMs...thought they were boring, all looked alike, etc, etc, etc,... According to my ems local website I will be receiving my 177 Davidsen at home tomorrow...

For all its worth, I agree with TeeJay: it looks grrreat on the brown strap! As for colours, I am GREEN with envy...
  7. Yep, docblackrock, that's the one! The fan, as you have promptly realised, is my wife not really me... Which only will make most men in this board think I am an even luckier bastrd... However, she does not like watches...
  8. Hey! I guess you must consider myself lucky when I have at least 50% of the players you mention playing or having played in my country...in my city...in my stadium (not that I own the Bernab
  9. Well, Angus should try and find a way to fix the off-white issue... It would be a pity, after all the effort done to reach the quasi-perfect 111H rep...
  10. Josh called for the watch back...he is going to sort it out. Lanikai, Jawo, I would love to go the The Zigmeister way but...1) he is not taking up any more work until next year, and 2) Spain is far from Canada...do you think there might be customs issues with watches going back and forth between Spain and Canada? Tempting, anyway...
  11. I guess I have been unlucky, then. Because my inner bezel has real trouble to rotate. Not only it doesn't rotate smoothly, but it gets stuck all the time. Turning it around one full time is a lengthy and even painful (for your fingers) process...
  12. I read a lot before purchasing any watch, AMK, believe me. I was extremely happy with the SFSO and I had many doubts (expressed here at RWG already) about going ahead with the Asian movement of the Cousteau. However, I saw the CD frequently listed as a superRep side by side with the SFSO and...I as soooo happy with the Breitling that I wanted to believe the CD would be the same. The dealer is not (I don't think so) the problem. Well respected around here and the service was very good. No problem with him. Josh, for further clarification. I nearly went for the 2006 version precisely because of what you said...but the 07 looks so cool I could not help myself. And of course, you are also right about the "going for the uncomplicated". That is why the other rep I bought this time was an ETA Submariner. Just the temptation of the cool looking CD was too strong. And I am wearing it now...and it still looks great. Just not the SFSO...
  13. I just received my new Cousteau Divers 2007...and I am somehow disappointed. The watch looks great, but that is mostly the merit of the gen's design, I guess. Areas for disenchantment are: 1) The inner bezel is, of course, not aligned at 12.00h...but most importantly, the movement of the inner bezel is all jumpy and cranky. I have not seen a gen in my hands, but I very much doubt this is the way it feels in the original watch... 2) The date (day of the week) is completely misaligned. Some days better than others (MON looks fine, TUE wrong, etc). 3) When setting the time, the feeling of the Asian movement is awful, loose and imprecise. Actually, when you set the time and press the button to "leave it there" the minute hand invariably moves back one or two milimiters (i.e. one or two minutes) which makes it difficult to set it right. Is it just a bad copy or are all the Cousteaus like this? If they are, I frankly can not consider them a Super Rep, as many call it. I guess after the SFSO every other rep is going to look and feel poor...
  14. I have been very tempted myself (still are) about the rose gold HBB...but too scared to spend $$$ just to see the "gold" wear off... (sigh!)... Why is PVD more resistant to wear, anyway?
  15. No Breitlings until position #92?! Was the poll performed at the Breitling Apartheid Association??
  16. UPO? Yep, but Omega is not really my thing...
  17. Well, thanks for the advice guys... I think I am dropping the CD from my wish list. I live in Spain, so I have no The Zigmeister around and if I drop the watch I would still want it to run properly. What I do not understand is why so many people call the CD a super-rep when it seems to have so many flaws... A super-rep, from what I have experienced so far, is the SFSO: I can drop it, swim with it, anything! Which other "real" sporty super-rep could i rely on as much as on the SFSO???
  18. I can't make up my mind. I would love to get me an IWC CD but I can only find it "Asian" for a reasonable price... However, having gotten recently a SuperOcean with the ETA movement and being sooo delighted about its overall quality I feel that settling for the Asian CD would not be good enough... I have read in this forum quite a few negative reports about the A7750 and that just blocks me from daring... However, I can only seem to find the swiss CD for over 1k! The price difference does not seem reasonable at all just for the movement, does it? Should I trust the quality of the Asian? Or, better yet, anyone knows a source for a reasonably priced swiss one?
  19. Well, of course! I would not buy a watch that I did not fancy... But neither would I buy a replica which is obviously a poorly built fake... That is why I would like to know which are the really good quality ones, and then I would pick those that I really would like wearing...
  20. Wow! Stephane, what a collection you have got! I will review it carefully...
  21. Thx, vbarrett, I am sure you are right... but I still need to learn how to open polls... This week is a bit hectic, but I will spend time learning about it over next weekend. I promiss. My taste... I like IWCs and the Cousteau might be something I could look at. But I have read very mixed reviews in this forum about its quality. Some swear by it, but others point out many defects or poor quality from its Asian movement... I don't know. The Submariner is another "clasical" I would consider... Panerais...I like, but I really know very little about them. I would certainly consider one, but I would need to know which of the replicas is the super-accurate one...if any. Hublot? Maybe... Omega...I hear there are one or two super-reps... Tag, sure! The key criteria is accuracy and quality. They have to look and feel real!! Isn't that the thing? Poll will follow...next weekend or so!
  22. I bought last week a SFSO of which I am extremely proud and happy. My selection was made thanks to the research I did in this forum, and there seemed to be an overwhelming majority which agreed that the SuperOcean was the best super-rep... Or if you want, the most accurate, high-quality and undetectable of the replicas around. Following such criteria which do you think should be my next two choices?
  23. Anyone knows how "waterproof" the Cousteau is? Is it ok for swimming?
