I am betting it sells at very close to the ask. I would still prefer the 6152 with Angelus to this one. So on a relative basis I guess the 6152 is a bargain. But that is a unique watch and I thought folks should see the pics. They don't come up for sale very often.

When someone has a chance please post a pic or a link. I have no idea which watch you are talking about.

Big thanks to all who have worked so hard for a member in trouble. Actions like this make it all worthwhile.

breitling genuine vs. rep rubber strap comparison
Watchmeister replied to deltatahoe's topic in The Breitling Area
I have always subscribed to the philosophy that a good strap goes a long way to making a decent rep better. On the Breitlings it is a fairly easy decision as they are readily available and reasonably priced (the rubber anyhow). I put one on the infamous ti CA and it made a huge difference. Thanks for the comparison. I had not known there were such large differences like letter size on a simple rubber strap. It probably is not something you would notice on its own but god forbid you run into someone else with a Breit on a gen rubber strap and it will be obvious. -
TJ- Good to see you back and congrats on the case. Let me know when you are headed up north again. - Kruz

Got it.

I stand corrected. And I do remember. But who else would I ask? You are the strapmaster. Not to make you jealous V but I just picked up a pair of Xa Mas' very inexpensively from a nice guy in New York. And one is sitting on my wrist as I type this. But they don't hold a candle to those Pre-V dirks.

It is similar to the mods necessary for seconds at 6 so it is not so simple. It requires plate modifications, additional transfer gears and jewels as it otherwise puts too much drag on the movement. On a humorous note thick would be good as the gen utilizes a base/chrono module format so the chrono pushers do in fact sit above the crown. As many know the best rep/franken was the MBK original dial and hands slapped on a 2894 with the same chrono module as on the gen. Then again they made a total of a half dozen pieces for the low low price of $4,000.

I may give the scotch brite a try. The lack of brushed finish drives me nuts. And correct me if I am wrong, but I should be able to try it without taking the watch apart as it is a sapphire crystal.

You do but unfortunately people ask $2000 for them. The first one I ever got was one of a lot of 6 straps (including 2 contemporary incursore's and a couple of Paci's for a grand total of $400. The good old days. ANd I am loving that shark skin strap.

A number of people are waiting for the upcoming proper seconds at 12 versions which are supposed to be forthcoming in the next couple of months. I don't remember if EOD has standard AP ROO configuration though.

TTK's Group Buy and Beyond - Where's TTK?
Watchmeister replied to hiker01's topic in General Discussion
Wow, the truth comes out. TTK first and customers last. I never thought I would say that. But now I can only conclude that the whole admin team was way to lenient with him. We should have caught on and banned him long ago. I had a fond place in my heart for him, his antics and his arbitrary dealings but now it is gone. -
Adam is continuing the liquidation of his incredible vintage collection. Not that I expect someone to buy it nor will he want any silly posts but it is a must see for any Pamaholic. http://www.network54.com/Forum/353390/thre...%28ducatiboy%29

Supposedly Gen Pam crown on ebay in Turkey
Watchmeister replied to tanya's topic in The Panerai Area
The seller may still have them. If you haven't heard from anyone else I may have one. But I am out of the country for another week or so and so I can't tell you for sure. In any case if you have had no luck PM me in a week and I will look. -

TTK's Group Buy and Beyond - Where's TTK?
Watchmeister replied to hiker01's topic in General Discussion
IMHO, this thread does have some value here at this point. The value is to those who did participate in these group buys but did not receive their watch yet. It certainly looks like folks are being taken care of one by on as I would expect with Neil. As many have said I have never regarded him as a scammer. He just has a different business style. Making negative comments based on opinion rather than fact is a little silly since he can't read it and you are not saving forum members since he does not sell here. But keeping other forum members up to date on the status and outcome is relevant. -
Supposedly Gen Pam crown on ebay in Turkey
Watchmeister replied to tanya's topic in The Panerai Area
If it is it is his only one. What is funny that only after we had collectively bought 50 crowns did he ask me what crowns were good for what. I guess someone must have finally asked him the question and he had no idea. -
Wow, it sounds like there are so many versions that now I am scared to buy it. If I remember correctly on the last grey dial version they screwed up the color on either the sub-dial rings or the larger inner bezel. That particular piece in the flesh is stunning. I hope they get it right. That would be my first choice irrespective of price. I have long since concluded that I will have to approach buying reps very differently given the price increases.

Could this be the first RWG ? Welcome Joann. The BF is a brave man subjecting his significant other to 10,000 males (and lest I forget the 1 other female).

Whats a reasonably sized rep collection?
Watchmeister replied to DemonSlayer's topic in General Discussion
I love Ubi's approach to reps. His approach is consistent and the most disciplined of anyone I know. Then again when you have a pair of stunning franken Daytonas it may be a touch easier to be disciplined. And I would be remiss if I didn't add that I am a very happy beneficiary of his approach. His 6263 and personalized 45mm vintage PAM are some of the most prized possessions in my collection. And yes Ubi I will remember to send out that Rolex crystal someday. I had one other question relating to buying habits. How many folks amass a large number of reps, spend way too much money and than wake up one day and decide it is time to buy a gen or two in lieu of more reps. Although I was a buyer of ges long before I knew anything about reps I do have to say that buying reps have caused me to buy more than one gen. -

IMHO, it is the movement and the plexi that make the piece. And the best part is it is all thanks to caring friends on the forum. -
Supposedly Gen Pam crown on ebay in Turkey
Watchmeister replied to tanya's topic in The Panerai Area
Yes on gen. The crowns date back to A and B series. SS and PVD are drilled for 0.9 stems (automatic) and Ti is 1.2mm for handwinds. RWG's have already bought well over half of the seller's crowns through the previous group buys.
