  1. When I handled it at an AD it felt like an unmodded rep, mainly cause of the crappy crown. Hurt my eyes way too much. I think that 1950 flyback chrono was million times sweeter.
  2. I have been looking at the pics of new gen 1950's and I must say that I find the design of the new thinner crowns absolutely horrible. I cannot look at them without a cringe, they look worse then a bed rep. I also looked at one at an AD right next to a nice Base 112 and it just looks soooooo bad. The design of 1950 is nice though. I think the standard crown from Historic series is perfect and so is the chunky one in the Pam127 or the one in 1950 Chrono. But the new ones are totally killing me, ha. Maybe it is because we pay so much attention to crowns and the general crown would not even look or think about it for a sec.
  3. Your 250 looks awesome. I looked at King's site but I cannot see which one actually is the new 250 as it seems that she uses her own numbering system. Do you happen to know? Dziekuje.
  4. PeteM, I looked at all my settings and it seems all fine. My name also shows up in the directory, not sure why you could not find it but it's all there. Thanks..
  5. Hmmm, that's pretty weird. Ill log in and check it out when I'm back home at a computer
  6. Sure, send it over. Hopefully it works. I can only access the intrnet on my phone for next few hours. On a way back from vacations so Im not sure how it will display Thanks
  7. Hi PeteM, I'd be interested as well, especially If it is a PVD model. Thanks a lot
  8. Looks nice. Just became my number one item to possibly get but...The crown is way off, very innacurate. Is there any way to source a correct looking PVD crown that would match the PVD coating. I'm sure resident experts will find many other things but the really bad crown is what always drives me crazy.
  9. Thanks a lot for the great info PeteM. I see things definitely did not change much. I may just go for an "off the shelf" version of 127, get it serviced and then see what else I might want to do with it later. As fas as building one, what I'd like to do is to build a custom, as good as possible 5218-202A PVD. But I haven't looked into where should I source various components from yet. Although I have seen few posts stating that you really need to go to quite few sources. M not sure yet how to approach it. But my goal would be to have sweetest 5218-202A PVD possible. Thanks a lot for the info.
  10. Looks truly amazing. Panerai should pick your idea up. Well... buy it from you ;-)
  11. Hey there, it's been quite a while for me since I got a rep and since I visited the forum. I'm still enjoying quite much my old school 111 from EL that I got back in 2005 and modded it with a correct crown guard and a nice accurate crown. I'm actually amazed that after all these years ( started back in early 2005) reps still come with crappy crown guards and crowns, with an exception of crowns on 127's and 1950 flybacks. I also still have a nice 5 years old EL Black Seal, 1950 Flyback and IWC Ingenieur. In any case. I came back to the forum after a "break". I'm interested in getting a nice PAM 127 1950. I have been reading around about what has changed in past couple years for last few days (nights). Trying to find some ideas at obtaining a nice 127. Could you shed some light at what's up these days and where should I look. I see many of the old dealers are still around, but I also see quality goes up and down a bit. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks a lot..
  12. Today I was at an AD (that does not sell Panerai) wearing my 1950 Flyback. As I was trying on BR-03 I put the 1950 down and the sales guy picked up asked if this is one of the older models (he did don't know anything about Panerais obviously), turned it around, shook the watch and looked at the movement spinning while commenting what a cool looking watch it is and saying I should definitely pick up a Black Carbon BR-03 since I already have such a great looking SS Panerai. I think I would not let a Panerai AD handle any of the PAM reps, but most dealers don't know [censored] about brands they don't carry at their store unless they are really into watches and that's a small % I guess. Same thing at Westime in LA (not the Beverly Hills one), couple ladies working there were completely clueless about watches and brands except saying things like: this is a nice watch, it looks good on you (hahahahaha), when I asked her a quesion about movements she opened her eyes wide and all she cold say is that watches look nice. One of them I even overheard telling a customer they don't carry Omega at this location. Where about 15 feet away from her there is.. a huge display of Omega watches. I could barely stop myself from laughing.
  13. I wonder when this is going be out too. I'm hoping for the model with a bracelet which I'm willing to wait for. Glad I did not go for the Cousteou...
  14. Ahhh, this is so awesome. This is going to be one to get.
  15. I'm with you on it. Once it's done right it will be definitely one to get. For now what they produced is a joke. It cracks me up though that after so many years of buyers like us pointing things out and trying to get the whole "being acurate" idea across to dealers and makers we still see things like that come out... it amazes me. Thankfully guys like Puretime with projects like Big Bang and IWC Aquatimer can actually make a difference. I think our demand should dictate quality. I think our dealers should put more pressure on makers and never have picked up crap like that and try to sell it... Especially knowing how watch educated buyers are these days.
  16. I totally agree with you. How retarded one needs to be to make a product that's all soooooo wrong???? Are Makers truly THAT BLIND???? Looks like they really need to babysat by guys like Puretime every second. That's just insane. PS. What's the link to see it anyway? thanks...
  17. It's probably better to wait longer and have a better final product.
  18. This is really exciting, the rep is looking quite nice. Is it possible to offer this one with SS bracelet?
  19. Very cool. I can say the same about my 111 which I have been wearing for 2 years and 1 month, also about 90% of the time. Swiss is the way to go.
  20. This is so awesome, thanks Angus!!!! The watch looks already amazing. I noticed some people posting comments here again. Let's make sure everyone sends the comments directly to the email Angus posted not in this thread.
  21. That's a tough choice, I still cannot decide myself which one to get but I'm leaning more towards TI. I really like the face of the Ti better with the numbers and red seconds hand but I'm not crazy about TI being so light. I think SS looks really nice but it is close to many other watches. I tried both genuine at an AD and I felt that TI has more character. I might actually order it finally later this week, although I wonder about quality. Hope that helps.
