  4. even if ist for a very good cause ..i found this watch worst as the baddest chinise fantaisy reps !! my 2cnt point of view ! "" The watch of which dreams are made IWC today presents an extraordinary watch for an extraordinary purpose. The French children's organization Petits Princes makes their greatest wish come true for severely ill children. Alexandre has been involved with watches since his early childhood. His wish for a watch to his own design provided IWC with the opportunity to build two examples of this highly personal watch. One will belong to Alexandre, and the other will be auctioned for the benefit of Petits Princes in Paris on 29 May 2006. Forum participants have the chance to join in the bidding for this good cause and to own a watch that will never, ever be repeated. There is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come (Victor Hugo) While other children were playing with building bricks, Alexandre was taking watches apart. He enthusiastically removed the dials and hands, and was fascinated by investigating the mechanical workings of countless timepieces. Alexandre has reached the age of 14 years and is severely ill. Although the carefree days are now past, his passion for watches has remained. It has become more intense, in fact, ever since the young French boy visited the Horological Museum in La Chaux-de-Fonds and was invited to the workshops of a watch brand. The bold wish to design his own high-quality watch entirely reflecting his personal taste and to have it manufactured emerged from these encounters. Dreams are a source of strength for life Since 1987, the Petits Princes organization, based in Paris, has been supporting seriously ill children during their suffering and makes their long-cherished dreams come true. Achieving a lifetime's dream enables a sick child and its parents to believe in the future and to gain the energy that is so essential if they are to come to terms with the illness. A permanent staff of eight is supported by more than 70 volunteers. The organization is financed by private donations, sponsoring partners and a programme of fund-raising events. Petits Princes has fulfilled almost 2000 wishes since its foundation. It has been helping Alexandre and his parents since 2002 over the difficult course of a prolonged illness. His passion for watches has become ours. And his watch can become yours. Auction of "Alexandre's watch" Together with the watch designer, Ludovic Blanquer, Alexandre has expressed his wishes on paper. For the first time in the history of IWC, we have built a previously unseen and unique model in two examples and we have realized Alexandre's dream. You, too, can realize your dream and become the owner of a globally unique watch built by IWC: Details of the watch: Case diameter: 38 mm, case height: 9.60 mm, material: stainless steel, automatic movement, back engraving: Pour Alexandre 2/2 International Watch Co.
