I absolutely love the Ulysse Nardin watches, but there don't seem to many reps around for this brand. Does anybody know why this is? In particular I'm really interested by the Maxi Marine line. If you know where I can find them I'd appreciate a pointer.

I too love the fine writing instruments as well as the timepieces. My pen collection started with a few rep Mont Blanc's and then progressed to a few gen Mont Blancs, a DuPont and a Waterman. I'm thinking of going back and getting some good reps as well, but for now timepieces are my obsession.

Can somebody please enlighten a noob? My understanding is that many reps sold with 3035 movements are old worn out units. In that case why spend the extra cash over a model with the 2892 movement?

Hello all. I just stumbled across this site last weekend and have already become hooked and signed up for VIP membership yesterday. As you can tell from my signature, I think nice watches and pens are a perfect way for men to display their individual tastes. After getting hooked on watches I finally understood my wife's passion for buying jewelry. Let's just hope I can manage to keep my spending under better control! Like a lot of people here I came looking for a Rolex, but in my case it's not the sub that I'm interested in (okay, that's not entirely true. It will definately come later.), but the SeaDweller. I don't know a whole lot about watches, but I'm looking forward to learning more about it. I think learning to mod would be really fun, but don't know if I want to go down that route yet. I'll start slow and maybe progress to modding, or may just decide to leave that to experts and just learn as much about craftsmanship as possible. Thanks for all the great posts and I look forward to learning from and interacting with the members here.
