  1. I'd love to see the Ulysse Nardin repped. It's my absolute favorite hands down, although I don't particularly care for the chrono version, just give me the standard Maxi Marine Diver with the rose gold and the black dial. Hopefully we'll see this sooner rather than later.
  2. Hi all, I'm from Gwinnett as well. If we can get a small group I'd definately love to get together. Anybody else from GA?
  3. I would highly recommend the Everglades, riding the swamp boats is fantastic and there really is some beautiful scenery and wildlife to be seen. I would also recommend check to see if there are any space shuttle launches during that time frame. You can ride over to Cape Canaveral (about 45 minutes) and check out the launch and the museum while you're there.
  4. Nice, but give me the Maxi Marine Diver! I'm dying to have this watch repped.
  5. I'll second that. I just got mine from him right before the holiday and it's fantastic, and he is great to deal with as well.
  6. I'll second that. I just got mine from him right before the holiday and it's fantastic, and he is great to deal with as well.
  7. As I've posted a few times before, the Maxi Marine is a watch I would love to see repped, but please not this version! This is one of the worst designs I've seen in a while.
  8. Thanks for the book idea. I might have to add it to my Christmas list (which already has 12 books on it).
  9. For a near perfect rep using 904L steel, platinum plating and 2892 movement I'd drop $550. I'd say that's not unreasonable.
  10. Angus, What do you figure the pricing would be like if you can pull of a 2892 movement inside this case? The case itself looks incredible...if the color of the red matches or is close to the gen then its an absolute beauty.
  11. Please post a follow up on your repair experience. I'm thinking of picking one up in the future and would like to hear about your experience. Thanks.
  12. I've got an ETA version coming from BK later this month and the wait is killing me!!!! I can't wait to get a hold of this watch. I happen to be a big YM fan and definately agree that while not a traditional dress watch this watch will definately not look out of place with a dark suit. Great review.
  13. The Blancpain is nice, but I'd much rather see the Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver repped instead. Now that's a beautiful watch, and again the gen to super-rep price ratio would be huge.
  14. I guess I should exercise more!
  15. I'm not much for the cluttered look myself. I'll use the elapsed time indicator on the bezel, but almost never will I use any function in a subdial, other than the date. I think that's one of the reasons for Rolex's continued popularity....with the exception of the Daytona, the dials are relatively uncluttered by useless subdials. Does anybody actually ever use these, and if so for what?
  16. The most important thing is to have the light properly diffused. Any direct light is going to shine off the metal and you won't get that nice lustrous color you see in the photo.
  17. Absolutely astonishing that you went to the lengths to put this review together. Look forward to reviews of the other watches....thanks.
  18. Sorry V, didn't mean to step on your thread. I only recently joined the forums and since you started that post before I joined it never caught my eye. At least I'm starting to think like you....which I guess is alright as long as I don't wind up buying 75 reps!!
  19. There is another thread asking how many watches everyone has, so in keeping with that theme....if your reps were gens how much would the collection be worth?
  20. Great thread. I too found these sites when I first became interested in reps, only coming across this forum by chance saved me from falling victim to one of these sites.
  21. There are lots of modders around here that do fantastic work (from what I've read, I've never seen their products). It seems to me that the difference is that bklm1234 offers his watches regularly (on Repgeek he has a forum called BK's Garage) whereas the other modders you have to seek out and they are more one off's.
  22. Great post. I too am on the hunt for a specific, hard to find rep....the Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver (so far I'm not even sure there is a rep as nobody seems to have ever seen one, but the chase is part of the fun!). Welcome to the group. As for Rolex, I'm about to pull the trigger on a modded Yachtmaster Rolesium from bk1234. I know he also does a modded sub, bringing together the best parts of various reps. I'd do a search for his posts as the guy really knows his rollies. Forunately there are quite a few around here that have tremendous expertise on this brand and I'm sure they can give you the insight you need.
  23. What a test. I agree that 90% of rep SD owners would be happy as long as its good for shallow water, but nice to know just in case. Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty....
  24. 8-0!!! that has to be more goals than Liverpool have scored in their last eight premiership games.
  25. what a great selection of not overly played tracks! This will definitely get some play around my house this season. Thanks.
