  1. Still waiting (not so patiently mind you!) for the Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver (black face) and the MMD Chrono.
  2. I've heard that there are two different groups working on UN reps. One is working on a subdial at 6,9 variation (most likely the MMD Chrono) using an A7750. I had also heard that a MMD was coming, but hadn't heard anything about which dial variations were coming (hopefully the black dial, not a big fan of the Blue Surf variation). The MMD will probably go with a manual wind seagull. I've heard the movement already has a working power reserve at 12.
  3. Well, then you're probably in luck. As I remember, RobbieG was saying that they were repping a UN using an A7750 with a subdials at 6 and 9 layout. My guess is that we are almost certainly going to see the UN MMD Chrono. I would love to see them do the version you have shown, it's an amazing watch.
  4. I had read earlier this year that a UN rep was on its way and would most likely arrive near the Christmas / New Year's timeframe. Does anybody have any idea on the status of this project? Are we still looking at getting a hold of some UN goodness before the year is out?
  5. Breguet in particular is famous for having supplied watches to many famous (infamous) people through history including: Napoleon, King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, the Duke of Wellington (Arthur Wellesley), George Washington, Tsar Alexander I, Winston Churchill, Leo Tolstoy and Sergei Rachmaniinov.
  6. I love stories like this. Surely must have been a complete shock to see the thing completely refurbished. Can't wait to see the photos.
  7. I'd be curious if anybody has ever been to their previous sales and can give some insight into what to expect. I'll go if I think it's worth the four hour drive to pick up a Planet Ocean or Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver for a sweet price. Any chance of that happening?
  8. I agree with phoband. I'm wearing my Homer Tourby now and it's incredible. I do need to upgrade the deployant clasp, as the one it comes with isn't the greatest, but other than that it's definately a head turner.
  9. I came across this watch today and realized its the first time I've seen a 6498-1 powered watch with a power reserve indicator. Does anybody know where I can source a 6498 with power reserve indicator, or how difficult is it for a watchsmith to modify an existing 6498 to add the indicator? I've got a project watch in mind and I'd love to incorporate this feature. http://www.orolus.com/cgi-bin/ShoppingCart...arch_for=3378-L
  10. Stories like this are really disconcerting. If you want a rep that passes the AD test then go buy a gen! I dont understand what anybody would gain from trying to test the AD like this. The more focus we bring to this hobby, the more difficult we make it for ourselves.
  11. i would contact Narikaa and see if he can source it for you. The benefit of ordering from him is that he hand selects all of his merchandise, so you get some QC that you don't from other dealers.
  12. I just got my Tourbillon form Homer this week and you are correct, it is mesmerizing. I had no appreciation for how amazing these things are until I saw it in person. I seriously considered the Breguet, as it's one of my favorite brands. Look forward to your review.
  13. Those things are easily fixable, but it's the huge gap I keep seeing on the bracelet that keeps me from buying it. I don't want to put it on rubber (have too many other watches on rubber), so that's not an option.
  14. Why oh why can't we get a better version of the 42PO? I love this watch, but I've been holding off for over a year praying they'll improve the 4th gen.
  15. I think you need to unplug your modem and routher le tthem stay unplugged for a few minutes then reboot them. It should reset your DNS and clear up the problem. Until I figured that out I had to go back to my browser history and click on old entries. Try going to the following address: http://www.repgeek.com/search.php
  16. That watch is a beast! I love the look of the ADLC. You've got yourself an absolute keeper with that one.
  17. I agree 100%. The appeal of Homer's watch, besides the great pricing is that its unbranded. Why get a rep tourby when you can have a beautiful gen without some made up name on it that nobody has ever heard of and doesn't care about? Now without any branding you can focus on the beauty of the watch and not have the face cluttered with some silly logo.
  18. I'm in need of a movement repair (2836-2), maintenance on a 2 other simple movements and a dial swap, possilbly a crystal popping as well. This is a great idea. I live in a small town and need a go to watchsmith.
  19. It really is a shame we don't have a newer, better version of the 42mm PO. It's in such great demand, and I for one would surely be all over a 42mm UPO, but sadly I don't even hear any rumblings that it'll ever likely be done.
  20. Phoband, any chance you could post a pic of your watch on the khtan strap or point me to a pic of the strap you recommend?
  21. I would agree that the value for the money proposition with this watch is probably the best I've ever seen. Five years ago who would have thought that you would be able to buy a genuine troubillion for less than $600? I do agree with vric that it could use slightly stronger AR, but the AR that it has on it now is acceptable. At some point I may have it done, but for now I'm just enjoying this fantastic timepiece.
