I think the same - the dial is way too tacky, but I love the 007 on the second hand.

Reposted on the general forum and someone led me in the right direction. It's a Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Chrono Globe...only goes for around $3800.

Thanks! I found it on prestigetime - it's called the Masterpiece Chrono Globe. The black dial version on prestigetime is only $3736.

Watch

Thanks for that screenshot - should help a lot. Maybe it's a prop watch? Seems like there are 2 crowns and 3 pushers?

The bracelet on his watch looks very distinct, but I can't place it..which watch does he wear?

Repairing a loose marker & a non-synch'ed second hand

Great write-up, but is is good to "nudge" the second hand? Couldn't this result in stripping some of the gears? -
Where to purchase movement parts?
GhostfaceZX replied to GhostfaceZX's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Hey Joe, Thanks for the pointers..but I don't have any of those welders or solder equipment. I tried using some krazy glue to glue it back, but when I was cleaning off the excess, it just came apart again, and now I've got glue inside the shaft and it won't fit back over the minute shaft, so I'm thinking it would just be best to get a new part. I actually don't care about the watch anymore - it's a writeoff to me. I'm just interested in seeing if I can get it working again on my own. I've already mucked up the 12:00 date changeover gearset and scratched the dial with a generic presto hand remover. Even if I get it working again, I really doubt it would see much wrist time - It doesn't feel comfortable to me at all with all the sharp edges on the bracelet and case. I'm more looking forward to the Asian SMP GMT I ordered. It's really funny to see now - I have an Exp 2 with a scratched dial that can only tell minutes and seconds. Maybe I can sell it as a 60 minute stopwatch -
Where to purchase movement parts?
GhostfaceZX replied to GhostfaceZX's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
I don't know who makes this - whether it's ETA or Chinese rep guys... I counted 80 teeth on the gear, and it measures about 7mm in diameter. Here are pictures of it. -
I'm in need of this part...both GMT and hour hands don't work without it. Since this is a modified 2836-2, are the parts still available, and if so, where would be the best place to purchase from?

How to make this movement run slower?
GhostfaceZX replied to GhostfaceZX's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
I see...I was wary about touching that one because I remember reading somewhere before to never touch that lever since it affects the balance of the wheel. Thanks! -
Here's the picture of the movement I have but not the same watch. It's from puretime's gallery, hope that's ok. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b14/pure...TE/DSCN3139.jpg How do I adjust it so that it runs slower? If that lever pictured is already maxed out at the full negative position, what other way is there?

Anyone know where to get custom datejust dials in US?
GhostfaceZX replied to GhostfaceZX's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
No, I'm not looking for a gen or to make a frankenwatch. I'm just disappointed overall by the placement of the markers...they're totally off. I posted a thread on either the original rwg or trc showing the off-centered diamond markers and white dots. I'm having RBJ try to source one for me, but I feel bad about bothering him so much when he's so busy. I saw the work he did on one of his own datejusts and feel it's worth the extra $$ to make it right. -
Hopefully the seller covers a replacement for you - don't open it up if you're going to need to send it back, no matter how tempting it seems. Just out of curiosity, is the movement asian or ETA? Also, how much did you pay for it?
-
Wow, looks like the stem was stuck inside the movement and when you twisted to loosen, it just broke. You'll probably need to open the movement to get rid of any piece of stem still inside, and then you'll need a replacement crown with stem. Also better figure out why the stem wouldn't turn in the movement - maybe something else is wrong that was preventing the winding.

Anyone know where to get custom datejust dials in US?
GhostfaceZX replied to GhostfaceZX's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Thanks...the URL is actually universaldials.net It's not for a franken datejust - I'm just very disappointed with the dial I got on my datejust rep and want to swap it out for something of better quality. -
what opener do i need to open a rolex rep???
GhostfaceZX replied to yachtenvy's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
I wasn't able to get mine open with the duct tape method, so I found a Bergeon clone on ebay and got that. -

Nice info...my first rep was an ETA Explorer 2 that cost $300. I broke it within 2 months by fiddling with it, trying to get to the dial. Spent about 3 hours today trying to repair it, but no luck...the hour and gmt gears just don't want to grab. Quite sad... I want another GMT, but want to stay away from Rolex..now this beautiful Bond SMP is available to me in both Asian and ETA, price difference of about $120...what to do?
