  1. Absolutely no objections from me - in fact, I already PM'd Admin about this, but haven't heard back. My suggestion was to have Admin take a small percentage of the donations, up to the point where there was 400 GBP total in the pot for Edge..then Admin can keep the rest towards supporting RWG2 and TRC.
  2. I've always been partial towards Kawasaki...They have a new Ninja 650 which is nice, or you can go with a Ninja 250 or 500 for a beginner bike.
  3. I've put a link to it on my original post in this thread, but here it is again: CLICK HERE
  4. Yes, r11co has definitely been eager to tell the forums about how good Asian movements have been to him. I guess most people associate Asian movements with the $20 POS watches that break after 2 days, but the Asian (non 7750) movements from the trusted dealers are definitely worlds apart.
  5. Can we have admin (Admin) help out regarding accepting and distributing the payment? Maybe if he gets involved, we can work some kind of deal where any excess will not be refunded, but rather be put towards supporting this site and TRC. Maybe some cross-posting about this fund on TRC as well?
  6. It's not the board's problem...it's all of us trying to help someone who is down, just like all of us helped Dutchy. A few dollars from each of us who wants to contribute won't be much hardship to each of us individually. That is seriously messed up, but unfortunately, not much we can do against their monopoly.
  7. I don't know how to do it, nor am I a trusted member of this group, so I'm suggesting some well-known member here set up some kind of donation fund for the financial losses that Edge suffered. Together we can all help ease the pain to his pocketbook. Hopefully the pp account created will have a strong password! Also, hopefully there will be a cap to the amount he actually lost - once the amount is reached, any incremental will be refunded. Read about Edge's story here: Read it here
  8. Good job on the warning...anyone here encounter any issues with their PP account being hacked? I think it's always good practice to use different (and strong) passwords for any of your logins that deal with money.
  9. My wife wanted a nice watch, and being the cheap b@stard I am, I bought her a rep!
  10. I don't know for sure about the way the SMP GMT's 2836-2 works, but one thing that really annoys me about my Exp2 2836-2 is that the date change occurs when the GMT hand reaches 0:00. One positive thing about this movement is that the hour hand is independently adjustable. I have the SMP GMT with Asian movement, and the date change occurs with the hour hand, but the GMT hand is the one that's independently adjustable on this watch. Both have their negative points... I've never seen the GMT 2893 movements to tell you about any issues they may have.
  11. That is a brilliant idea! I'm for this as well...
  12. Titanium is stronger/harder than stainless steel, so yes, it is more resistant to scratching than SS. I used to be into titanium watches, but now I prefer the extra mass of a nice SS watch.
  13. Hi Veni, I don't really know you, but I liked your sig...why are you leaving?
  14. Welcome Mrs. King..however, I must point out that the Senna Tags listed in her section aren't really the Senna versions. I placed my first order with her a few days ago, so I'm looking forward to a smooth transaction.
  15. LOL - that's like having an affair with a woman with her husband lying next to you guys...
  16. Yes, everything goes through customs, but someone posted a link before that showed most of the packages that were inspected by customs originated from China...and it was a huge amount compared to all the other countries. I just ordered a watch from King today, and I live in California..hope everything goes well. I didn't have any issues with a watch from Andrew that came from his supplier in China.
  17. Have you used the chronos? Are there any problems with them resetting correctly? I also heard about some people who had to run the chronos all the time or else the watch wouldn't work, but I'm not sure if it was the old A7750..
  18. But the thing is the Tag Calibre 36 and Zenith El Primero chronograph share the same movement... The analogy is more like this: Zenith Port Royal El Primero = Mercedes McLaren SLR Tag Link Calibre 36 = C6 Corvette with the SLR engine swapped in I think both of them look good, but the Zenith is cheaper!
  19. Those are some pretty cool complications! But of course if I spend that much money on a watch, I want the name to be recognized. I've never heard of Nivrel before, and I doubt most of the people here have heard of it either.
  20. Actually, you're only seeing half the 12 and 6 markers because of the reflection...I guess it's not a good picture. Here's a flash slideshow from the manufacturer's site: Link
  21. Just order one every 3-4 days and you'll have a steady stream of watches coming in. You'll get a new watch to play with even before you get the chance to become bored of the previous one
  22. Zenith Port Royal El Primero Chrono Would you take it over the Tag Calibre 36 Link Chrono?
  23. The whole problem with the post you brought up is that there's some misinformation within it (such as the mention of the 7750b1). Then, you state that the Daytona has the new 7750, but you don't mention that the gears added to move the functions causes a lot of problems with the movement. Someone reading all the threads about the A7750 including The Zigmeister's post about the Daytona with new 7750 will be totally confused. I think it is a great idea to have an official thread showing which ones definitely have the new Asian 7750 and which ones are reliable and have all erroneous posts deleted by the poster or a moderator. Any time we start having contradictory information in a post, someone reading the post will get very frustrated.
  24. On the ones I've seen with Asian movements, the location and size of the power reserve meter differs by a slight bit compared to the gen. Look at how close the Power Reserve text is to the 4, 5, and 6 hour markers. There may be more differences, but that is all I have noticed when comparing pics.
  25. That is insane...and probably completely unnecessary as well. You get way more error in the time it takes your finger to press the start/stop button. I wonder how much power reserve it gets.
