  1. 6.5" here, narrow and deep in cross-section. Can "just" wear a 44mm Pam.
  2. Don't feel bad, Chief. I just experienced the same thing re-sizing my new SS Navi from Joshua. After I unscrewed just one of the tiny screws I tried everything to push out the long link pin, not realizing it was attached to the link plate opposite the one the tiny screw came out of, and that there was another pin that held the links together. Thanks to the explanation by krustybrand and nguyyend, I was finally able to re-size my bracelet.
  3. Sash, your Picooz helicopter, does it actually fly pretty well? Is it fun? I'm thinking of getting one for my 11 year old nephew for Christmas. Thanks!
  4. Hey KJ, welcome back! Where have you been hiding yourself? That Inova micro light I bought from you 1.5 years ago still works beautifully. It's great to have you back!
  5. yeah, it's a real shame, what's holding me back from acquiring one of the current AP ROs is the horrible fit of the bracelet to the end links. I don't have a spare bracelet to substitute either. Why do they do that?
  6. Thor, could you please elaborate on the courier bags please? How are they selaed, and would they be easy fro our dealers to obtain? Thanks much.
  7. Maria even made a very rare guest appearance in that thread on TRC to push his version and dis Angus' version. Anyway, I can't believe we are finally getting a decent AP ROO, it's mind blowing actually.
  8. Angus, can you please tell us more about the upcoming ultimate Pam reps? Which models? Thanks much.
  9. Yes, thank you so much. I finally did figure it out, as you describe. But all the individual links coming off those 2 posts is a bit un-nerving, makes quite the mess. I've never dealt with a bracelet system such as this - insane! Call me a wuss, but I think I'll take this one to a jeweler. Thanks again, Krusty. Your explanation was perfect.
  10. Hi guys, I just tried to remove a few links from my new Navi Serie Speciale from Joshua. The link pin in one link that I absolutely have to remove so the watch sits nicely on my wrist (naturally) is stuck within the links after I unscrew the tiny screw. I've soaked the bracelet in Liquid Wrench, jiggled and twisted the links every way, tried to tap it out with a link pin remover and jewelers hammer, nada, nothing, it won't budge. What can I do? I am so frustrated. Any suggestions, please? Thanks very much.
  11. I have only one watch with AR - a gen UN 1846 Chronometer, when you look at it stright on you really can't see the crystal reflection, you fell like you could reach and touch the dial - it's uncanny. It's actually a bit unsettling. I haven't seen a rep with true AR coating yet.
  12. tvt, I remember you going to that Panerai event. It was held at the Shedd Aquarium, yes? Finepics, I agree, you should wear a gen, and have a lot of fun, you lucky dog. Tell us all about it afterwards.
  13. Hmmm , if you wear vintage but it looks new and shiny... I'd wear the best, most accurately modded modern one you have. Usually at these types of events the lighting is not dental-chair bright, so I don't think you'll be called out.
  14. How about a Ulysse Nardin Blue Max Ltd. diver? The gen is powered by ETA 2892.
  15. Holy s**t, so you went for one from Josh. I was wondering if anyone bit at that price. Well, tell us more about it, and congrats!
  16. The lume dots aren't off, it's just distortion from the crystal edge. Anyway, this is really exciting, and it's about time. The version with the brown subdals is very interesting.
  17. Good thread, even though this has been discussed before. I'd like to emphasize, as The Zigmeister has said, you get what you pay for, if you like and want to keep the watch a long time. If your watchmaker charges under $100, there is no way he will completely take apart the movement and clean it properly, oil it with 4 different oils, put it together, regulate it in different positions etc. like The Zigmeister does. A simple dip and swish for $75 won't do it, if it's over or under oiled.
  18. I'm very sorry to hear of your loss, Neil. My condolences to you and your family. We're here if you need us. Rima
  19. It looks great! I hate "lug gap" and this strap solves the prob beautifully.
  20. Oh that's too bad you can't find a watchmaker who works on reps. I'm in the same positon as you N - I don't have the tools, time or the inclination to fix my reps but I found a watchsmith in the suburbs, a 1 hour drive each way, who can take care of my rep problems. Good luck, I'm sure this situation will work itself out.
  21. Nguy, do you have a watch reapir guy where you live who works on reps? If so, you could take it to him and have ajoe reimburse you for the repair, it shouldn't be very expensive.
  22. Thanks much for the recos guys!
  23. Hi good people. I woud like to replace the awful leather straps that came with my JLC reps. I have looked at a few websites but some of the straps run as much as $100, I just can't see spending that much for a strap if the watch only cost $110. Another complication is I need a short strap for my skinny wrist, I hate it when you can see the strap end sticking up against the side of my wrist. If someone could point me in the right direction for nice short length, moderately priced leather straps I'd really appreciate it. Enjoy your weekend!
  24. Nice work Tourby. So what prize does he get?
  25. And thanks Hank for the re-direction of my post. It's been a long day.
