  1. I acquired the rollerball from TTK about 1 1/2 years ago and I still marvel at the look and feel of this pen every time I use it, really superb. I got the FP for my mom-in-law and for a rep nib it wrote very well, I was surprised. However, rep FPs are not recommended, the nibs are generally awful compared to gen, I have 2 other rep FPs that are not writable.
  2. I've heard that Charlie Watts has quite the watch collection.
  3. Thanks very much for the wrist shot, it looks very good on you. It gives me the courage to get a blue dial Steelfish. May I ask, where did you get your McLaren SLR on bracelet? I've seen it with leather strap only. Thanks again!
  4. Well, if you think that the real discussion has gone away and the stagnation and pissing matches have seeped in, why don't you try to introduce a new topic?
  5. Very nice collection Pix. Not the usual Rolex and Panerai, very refreshing. May I ask you a question? It sounds like you have a slim wrist, how do you like wearing the Super Ocean Steelfish? I really want a blue dial one but my wrist is 6.5", but I do wear a 44 mm Pam and it looks OK on me. I'm just not sure about the Steelfish, will it be too big for me. Thanks much.
  6. Depends how badly you want it, you could get Joshua's for $268 and then send it to The Zigmeister for preventive servicing, I believe that runs around $200.
  7. Yes, I don't know if this photo is of the genuine, but if it is, I like the rep version much better, just better dial design. A long time ago I saw the rep on iOffer but with a black dial, it was really sharp. I wish I would have picked it up, I've never seen it with black dial since. Maybe I need to talk to TTk or Narikaa about sourcing a black dial.
  8. Just wondering, does Joshua offer any type of warranty on the $120 servicing?
  9. I want a Daytona badly, and I'd like to read your review.
  10. To answer your question regards the Navi, some members have gone and brushed the finish of their Navis, but I would recommend taking it to a jeweler for professional brushing to make sure the brush lines are straight and even.
  11. Wow, gorgeous. Very nice pix, too. Wear it well.
  12. Well at least he seems to live the good life - a grandfather who is a race car mechanic with a probably much younger tattoo artist GF.
  13. My co-workers have never asked me about my watches, sigh. They just don't notice. On Tuesday evenings I attend a ukulele class (a lot of fun) and the teacher brings her kids, a boy aged 4 and a girl, 6, her husband works nights. Lately the kids have noticed my watches, and every week now they ask to see my watch and allow them to paw my beautiful pristine reps with their dirty, sticky little paws. They always want to see what watch I'm wearing, bless their observant little hearts. Speaking of cats, one day I was cleaning something in the living room and I noticed my cat Lucy staring at the wall and then trying catch something on the wall. Then I realized she was chasing and trying to catch the sun's reflection glinting off the watch I was wearing. Now we play this game all the time.
  14. Those watches are SO not you, I'd love to see a King of Bling version of these. On second thought, maybe not.
  15. Beautiful watch, Ubi. May I ask, from whom did you get it?
  16. Which style did you order? I ordered a secs @ 6 SS Daytona, black dial from a respected dealer about 6 months ago. When it arrived it had awful thick shiny silver subdial rings that were too close together, looked really bad and cheap, nothing like the dealer pix. I had a hard time but the dealer finally took the watch back and refunded my money. A member of RWI got a Daytona with same problem, I think he returned his also. So I believe there are a few different versions out there, some nice looking others not. I'm dying to get a modern Daytona but this really put me off.
  17. How about a wrist shot please?
  18. The DateJust case size is 36mm, quite a bit larger than the Santos. I have a 6.5 " wrist and I produced an accurate size xerox of the Santos, cut it out and wrapped it around my wrist, it looked very small IMO.
  19. I posted this in the other Cartier thread going, I'll ask this here also. Isn't the standard Santos a really small watch? The dealers specs are 29 x29mm case. I'd like one but I can't see wearing one that small. What do you guys think?
  20. I'm very interested in this watch too, but, I just looked at Joshua's site and the mens version he offers is 29 x29mm. Can that be correct? That's a really really small watch, I just can't see wearing it.
  21. I have this style, it was my 1st rep bought back in November 2004, so I think I have one from the closed factory. It's a gorgeous watch, the details are excellent, but it does have the too bright blue dial, same as current wo-mart, too bad they never fixed that. IMO it's the most beautiful Seamaster, with the elegant steel bezel.
  22. EL did? I don't recall that. About 1 1/2 yrs. ago Joshua also offered a cheapo asian Daytona and had his watchsmith freeze the secs @ 9 subdial, running secs @ 6 if I remember. I bought that one, black dial, but it had these awful fat shiny subdial rings. It's still sitting in my watch box, unworn.
  23. I'd buy one, I love Daytonas and I have no problem with the non-functionality of this one. Very nice for $100. I hope our dealers offer this soon, thanks for bringing it up, Kanerich.
  24. The end links integrated into the case certainly don't help us slim wristed folks, they really stick out away from the wrist. Sadly, I think the APROO is a no go for me.
  25. You guys are so smart and knowledgeable, you put the Timezoners to shame!
