Rolex Gmt Master With the Jubilee bracelet...
rek001 replied to breitling1234's topic in The Rolex Area
I've always wondered about buying a bracelet separately - they don't always fit, yes? I would think the lug hole position might not match up with the end links. I'd love a vintage GMT with jubilee bracelet but I am hesitant about buying the bracelet independently. -
Big Ouch! What a shame.

Hi all, I just received a cheap, fun AP ROO from a very good dealer on iOffer. I'll post pix later today. Of course the watch is huge on me, and the rubber strap's deployant is at a bad angle and digging into my wrist. I'd like to replace the strap with one that has a regular buckle. I know someone here found a source for AP ROO replacement straps, but I can't seem to find it via the Search function. In advance, I thank you very much!

Philip Stein Teslar, supposed to have some type of health benefits as witnessed by the most healthy appearance of the young gent.

As I was driving home from work yesterday outside of the ATT/Cingular store a block from where I live they had a line of people sitting in lawn chairs and standing, the line went half way up the block...I'd never seen that in my neighborhood before, amazing.

You are very welcome, glad to be of use.

I have 2 of those AP RP chronos, and because of the integrated endlinks the first bracelet links are somewhat inflexible, I assume the watch was sent in the customary bubble wrap & padded envelope. All it would take is some very heavy package dumped on the envelope to break the bracelet, I'm sure this happened in transit. Anyway, ask for new bracelet. Too bad, I could have sold you one of mine for a very special female members price, pre-sized for slim wrist

Is There a Cure for What Ails the Secs @ 6 7750?

Time to start a collection drive for The Zigmeister's round trip ticket to China -
Good for you V, and welcome to the female Pam owners club. You will really like it, and you'll see, Pams are all about admiring glances.

Elements of nature against me and against Reps
rek001 replied to AMK000's topic in General Discussion
Oh my, A, that really sucks. How absolutely frustrating, I hope it all ends well. Don't give up on reps yet, there are some really nice ones coming soon. -
I have the same Pam PR from Josh, paid $108 for it 1 year ago. Now it's $188? Wow.

Bah, remember when MBWS were an urban legend?

For the record I am a gay member of this forum and gay issues are not a theoretical or semantic nicety. In the U.S. there are blatantly discriminatory laws that have a direct impact in my life. The government does not recognize my partner and myself, we are like two strangers living under one roof. Please try to imagine what sort of complications this causes. I just got back from watching the gay pride parade here in Chicago. Once a year gays take over the street and march to show that we exist in every imaginable walk of life - doctors, lawyers, union trades, government, corporate. We are your neighbors and co-workers. Like it or not, we are a part of and contribute to society. People who make deragotory remarks about gay people and their sympathizers, well, I'm not going to say but you know what I'm thinking. As for Newsom's watch, looks like a Seiko almost. He should go back to Pams. -
oops, sorry for typos, just started my AM coffee.

I ahte to say this Ubi, but, I think the screws you removed look way too brassy to pass for WG. I know your quest for your quest for perfection in modding, I'd say get them plated.

+1 for the Elise!!!

I know this is under-budget but how 'bout a Mazda Miata? Pure classic roadster.
-
I like it a lot but GMT on top of the 7750 is a beautiful paprweight in training.

I've got one with the slate blue dial, visually it seems to wear smaller than other Pams, possibly because of the dull luster of the titanium. For my slim wrist it's very nice, I like it a lot.

You are looking for higher quality rep leather goods, I'd be interested in that too, but I am very skeptical. I took the plunge into rep handbags, bought an LV Epi Jasmine handbag from one of our good dealers after reading other members good reviews of this bag. To be honest, I was very disappointed. The leather really looks and feels like viny I hate to say. I won't name the dealer because he took care of my prob with the bag, the first bag came dented, wasn't sent in a box, duh. It also had black paint or dye marks on the brass zipper, and smelled like a mildewed barnyard, seriously. So I had to send it back at my expense (god how I hate that) and the second one was somewhat better, at least it smelled like cheap leather. But honestly, this one looks and feels like black vinyl, I went to LV boutique in Chicago and looked at gen, this rep doesn't even come close, it's laughable, really. I paid $170 for the pleasure of this educational experience. I'd like to be proven wrong, but right now I'm very leery of rep leather goods.

Please suggest some nice men's watches for a woman
rek001 replied to dangerman's topic in General Discussion
I would suggest the 40mm white dial Pam on bracelet or a nice tan leather strap, a great look for summer. -
Oh man, that really sucks, and he was planning on retiring soon too. I hope it works out OK for him.
-
Wow, that looks great. You did an excellent job. It's nice and light, and protects your watches well.
-
Yeah, good luck putting that all back together successfully, I give you credit. All I can think of is The Zigmeister's comments when he puts the movement back together expertly and it still doesn't work right, how then he has to take certain parts off and put them back on with different amounts of pressure, much trial and error, unbelievable patience that guy has.

Thanks for reminding me, I always get the best of the best June issue. Makes me depressed looking at nice stuff I'll never be able to afford, but I stil buy it every year.
