  1. MBW 1680... with a few mods, of course.
  2. By-Tor, Where can I find the Noobfactory ExpII? If you could kindly shoot me a PM, I'd appreciate it. Thank you in advance. SD3
  3. You're right Frank, and thank you for the words of wisdom. Time to move on and find a gen insert for my SSD and then have the CG's modded.
  4. Thanks for the input! I don't know if I could live w/o the date function though. I forgot about the dial size difference as well. I wonder how one would trim a gen dial?
  5. Do you mean a gen white letter dial? I am considering that for sure as you are correct... the red dials are outrageous!!! The bigger question is... will the gen dial install on this watch without issues? I know the feet need to go but I don't know how risky that is? And, yes.
  6. OK gents... I think I have decided to splurge and buy a gen dial for my baby. Whata ya think? Is it worth it? My watch is perfect (to me at least) with the exception of the dial. I think if I land a gen red dial, it will be as close to the real deal as possible. Thoughts and pinions' are appreciated!
  7. I couldn't agree more. But... I told him I was looking for a white dial DJ and he said "Why don't you just take mine... I never wear it". I replied "Well, I could help you sell it if you want"... to which he replied "No, just take it and wear it. You can swap the dial. I don't blame you, the thing is impossible to read at night!" Perhaps I should insist on paying him something?
  8. I will have the watch tomorrow and will try and post some scans.
  9. Wow... just landed a gen Datejust with dlue dial on a new Oyster bracelet. The problem is I want a different color dial. Does anyone have a source for one? I am looking for white with stick markers. I'll post some scans soon.
  10. I have gen 580's and they fit my 1680 perfectly.
  11. I LOVE that watch! Please contact me if that one ever get's "old" for you.
  12. No worries. The only thing left to consider is a gen dial... down the road a bit. Seems a decent one will run $600+ though.
  13. Ooops, should have mentioned... that's already been done.
  14. Thanks, Stephane. Can't think of any other mods other than a gen dial which really doesn't make sense now that Rob has worked this one to where I wanted it. Gen movement just doesn't make valuable sense to me. Date wheel change, from what I understand, is a royal hassle and can be dangerous. Anything I am missing?
  15. OK gents... sorry for the delay. Here's my modded MBW 1680: Crown guards milled (inner and outer) Gen crown/tube Gen Tropic 127 crystal Gen bezel and insert Gen bracelet with 580's (restored by Rob) Lume of dial and hands (nice light cream color) I hope you enjoyed!
  16. Sorry gents. Had a long day at work and just got home from dinner. I will shoot some scans and post em' on Saturday. I promise!
  17. Well, I had read so many great reviews of Rob's work and now I know why. He really came through. My 1680 now has the following mods: Crown guards worked to perfection Gen crown/tube Gen Tropic 127 crystal Gen bezel and insert Gen bracelet with 580's (restored by Rob) Lume of dial and hands (nice light cream color) After going back-and-forth on a gen red dial, I decided against it... for now at least. I just couldn't stomach paying the ridiculous prices they are asking. I will post a few scans this weekend.
  18. My 3717 has a power reserve of 50+ hours! I was stunned and posted on it a while back. I may just be lucky but I'll take it.
  19. YES!!!!! Thank you Rob!!!! Can't wait!
  20. Rob has mine and is having difficulty getting the case back off. He is working hard on it and I will be crushed if he can't get into my baby to do his magic. He is luming the dial/hands, doing the crown guard work and bringing my 93150 back to original status and then installing. I already have the gen tube/crown, gen tropic crystal and gen vintage insert (rare, I believe). This one will be pristine once it is completed. Crossing my fingers that he is able to get that case back off! Here's a scan as it it now...
  21. In being critical about my new SSD, I noticed the date alignment is a bit off. The number is too high and the window shows too much white at the bottem. This has been the tendency for most numbers. Is there an easy fix for this? I do want to have the movement regulated so I guess that would be the time to do it. If any of you gents can chime in with advice, I would appreciate it.
  22. Wow. No one has replaced the insert???? Anyone??? Bueller??? Bueller??? Bueller???
  23. I have been looking for a gen insert for my new SSD and cannot find one. What is my next best option? Thanks in advance for any and all input.
