  1. I've got a v2 SSD that Pb converted into a 16660. Like a lot of SSDs, it came with a bracelet that has no model number on the last link. It has the number "72200" on the "face" of the SEL where it meets the case But that's the model number for the Turn-O-Graph bracelet, and this bracelet looks like an SD bracelet, with the one panel diver's extension and large fold-over clasp. So it's kind of close, but not really there. According to the stickie, what matches the 16660/16600 is a 93160 bracelet with 592 SELs (592B for the 16600, no idea what the difference is). Is there a rep of that bracelet anywhere? If not, is what I have as close as I'm going to get without going gen? Thanks
  2. But only in the black dial, as far as I can tell.
  3. I get the idea. It's not as pronounced as my pics make it look, but the rehaut is slightly slanted. No way you'd notice it unless you were specifically looking for it, though. The refraction from the plexi edge basically makes it hard to tell what is rehaut and what is plexi.
  4. Pearl is part of the Yuki case No idea on the wokky thing.
  5. So I'm guessing I should take one for the team here.
  6. The TRL was so nice he wanted everyone to see it.
  7. No, it's a bad picture of an aged pearl. It's about the same color as the dial numbers, and about a shade lighter than the lume on the hands.
  8. Please don't judge the bracelet by its photographer's skills. It really is a fantastic piece. I was worried that the small dial = tiny watch, but it's just about perfect size.
  9. About 4 months ago, I was looking at the “too rich for my blood” auction sites, and came across this: one of only two 5512s known to exist with an explorer dial, four lines of gilt text, pointy CGs, and, best of all - “floating” minute ticks (no chapter ring): http://www.bonhams.com/eur/auction/17865/lot/434/ When I saw it, I had to have one, but 78,000 British pounds was slightly out of my price range. So I contacted PBdad, and we put together the following recipe: Yuki 5513 pointy CG case with 5512 CB NDT explorer dial (closest we could find) with gilt lettering ETA 2846 Gen crown and tube PB sourced hands Yuki non-stretch rivet bracelet. Plexi from PB This wasn’t PB’s easiest project. The aging/assembling of the piece was pretty standard, but the dial needed lots of work - it had a chapter ring, really dark yellow explorer numbers, and thin black surface paint. But PB managed to pull it off. I just got it about 30 minutes ago. I’m more than a little giddy about it. Sorry for my usual bad iPhone pics, but even they will be able to do most of the talking here: Still have the plastic on the crystal - TRL looks top notch. The color of the dial is closer in the first pic below, but the second pic is more accurate otherwise: I actually was so excited, I took the wristie before I remembered to take the plastic off the plexi: All I can say is wow, just wow. Very impressed with PB’s work, communication, and creativity. There were points where I didn’t think this would be possible, but each time PB figured out a way to make it work.
  10. Wife is wanting a new 36mm watch, and she has her eye on the blue TOG. I see Josh has a really cheap 21j version ($118 with free shipping). Does anyone have this piece? Is it decent? Is the blue dial color replicated correctly? The pics are almost useless for that. Link: http://www.1-pc8838.com/rdjms01003-turn-graph-blue-asia-auto-swiss-model-parts-p-2894.html
  11. I've got an SSD that has been converted over time to a really nice matte-dial Triple 6 (16660). There are a few inherent flaws there. Some of which are fixable (wrong bracelet) and some of which are not (LEC on crystal). One flaw is the "modern" font DW. The 16660 had the transitional DW with the open "9" and "6" and the serifs, but with the round "3"s. Any idea where I could find an overlay pr replacement DW? It's an ETA 2836 motor, I believe. Thanks
  12. Man, I have had an Ingy for almost 2 years looking for a DW like that. Home run first time at the plate for you! Congrats!
  13. Jimmy Fu if you can get it. If not, the closest shape-wise is the new 005k/318l, but that case has its critics due to the bezel construction being far from gen. 111j is built like gen but has more of a Pre-V shape, so it needs a lot of modding to the lugs, midcase to be Pre-A or A/B/C.
  14. I can't see anything wrong with either movement. I think it's time to enlist the smith. Frustrating.
  15. Have a rep SMP GMT (the black one) with an ETA 2836. Suddenly, when it's at the second stop, the GMT hand will only turn for a little while, then the stem will feel like the gears aren't meshing - not really grinding, almost like the feel of winding a 6497. Then it will move a click or two, and then stop again. Date (turning the opposite way) works fine. So I replaced the entire movement, including the GMT wheel, with a new 2836 (was easier than fixing it). Same problem. No change whatsoever. Doesn't seem like it could be the keyless because it was replaced when the movement was switched out. What's causing this? Thanks

DSN 51c is a good choice. Auto, which is more practicla IMO, and no display CB, which is a big tell. I aso like the hobnail dial. Same movement as gen, decent dial and hands. Lugs are too stubby, but if you want to drop it into a better case (Cartel 89, etc.) they exist.

    Yuki Bracelets

PBDad said he could fix the 2mm lugbar problem, so had him get me the Yuki non-stretchy rivet.
  18. No pics come up for me at all.

    Yuki Bracelets

Josh's bracelet works with 2mm springbars? If so, that seems like the way to go.

    Yuki Bracelets

Wow. Thanks for all the comments and the link. Disappointing that the comments from 18 months ago still apply. I am tapped out on this pbDad 5512 build already, so a gen bracelet is not in the cards for now. So am I better off with the folded 7836 Yuki sells?
  21. Nice. Amazing how much difference the rail dial makes. Where does one get that black leather NATO strap?

    Yuki Bracelets

Thanks! So there's no chance I'll get a better or worse one by choosing stretchy vs. non-stretchy?
  23. Looking at bracelets for my 5512 build. I see that the Yuki rivet bracelets are well regarded. Yuki sells 2 of these - one stretchy and one not. Which one is more accurate/better? Also, he has his 92350 bracelet on sale. How does this compare to the stock bracelet that came with an SSD? My SSD came with a bracelet that is labeled 72200 (that's the number for a Turn-o-graph), and looks like a standard Oyster with a SD clasp attached. Is Yuki's better? Thanks
  24. txcollector can start a new side business. I'm in the same boat. I look at my Ingy and just sigh sometimes.
