  4. Hi Guys, Have any of you got a gen crown to fit a rep tube, I m hoping for a few yes's so I dont have to worry about more stuff going wrong In specialvat world at parts are the same dimension, even if I dont live in that dimension. Give me your tales good and bad. Cheers all.
  5. Three years later I m not surprised
  6. All good stuff thank you guys, when i start which side do I put the broach in? Tube side first is my first guess but want to confirm. Thanks again.
  7. Both my cheapest rep purchases had QC pics silix-without asking and watcheden-asked for them. So price may not come into it
  8. Hope you can stop me going insane I need to broach a minute hand from 0.90 to 1.00, so I need to buy a needle file yes ? Is the act of broaching thining the wall of the hand tube, as these hands look mighty thin to start with. Or is it just widening the collar? Any way as to how you broach using a file, is the chosen file tapered to the width you need so it gradually gets to the correct size ? Next thing on my mind is rodico, on a dial do you just use it like a eraser on a pencil drawing to remove prints and dust or it it more delicate ? Any hints tips and general help is most appreciated and greatly received. Thanks.
  9. Bit of a naughty post, always check the WTB section and send a PM. Any way cheers guys, I ve replied via PM. I m a good boy, my mum has told me
  10. How many have you sold only to replace at a later date ? I really enjoyed my Day-Date rep: Even though it was a silix cheapo model I was pleased the rolex rehaut lined up correctly. The gen dial lined up really easy too, the hands were beyond me however But the gold was a little too much for me to pull off and I decided to move it on. I always missed it and then while looking for 1601 dials I happened across this wee beasty: Slight scratch but nothing major. So at the major cost of £18.99 inc p+p I bought it, As I ve got a date just I figured that I should get the smooth bezel version of day-date. The only dealer who has a budget version with smooth bezel is WE, so I ordered this one: As the hands look smaller than its counter parts, also the rehaut engraving seems a little better. I ll study the QC pics when they arrive as these are my main concern ATM. Both my previous gold model and this steel version suffer from awful clasps: So I ve ordered a little replacement from rafflestime on the bay: He said he can supply the clasp with the correct crown logo, but lets see what arrives I dont mind about the lack of stamps it just looks better. So hopefully I ll be good to go in a couple of weeks Just hope it goes as well as the last time, whats the bets it goes to pot. Evens I say Cheers all.
  11. The AP that the movement came from is now junk as the bracelet has broken, whats a fair price for a non running eta movement do you guys think ?
  12. Cheers guys, the watch it came from is no longer with us So its got nowhere to go at the min.
  13. I seem to have an unwell ETA 2836-2. It was fine til recently, now it stops when its laid flat i.e. dial up. From removing the movement from the watch it seems the escape wheel is no longer in contact with the pallet fork. The balance wheel will move and also the pallet fork, but the escape just sits still ? Any thoughts on whats done this, and any potential fixes ? Thanks.
  14. Perhaps the machine that cuts the marker feet off was on too long ? It may not come off
  15. Having waited ages getting AP parts together for a 36mm royal oak, I decided to modify a rep dial and use the eta movement so I could wear the watch in the mean time. Then I noticed the case was too tall, and is no longer produced. Ooops ! then bracelet broke at the weld- unfixable, so its farewell to the project. I m going Gen I ve decided so if you see a 14790st white dial box and papers floating around, think of me and my poor old rep and give me a shout I m going to keep the JLC 889/2 movement so I have spares for the 2225 should I ever need them. And they say reps harm the brand, rubbish it just drives you to them as the pos's always fall to bits
  16. Got a 40mm Pam a while back that was great, only a cheapo tho but still good.
  17. Hi all, Looking to have a case thinned out and tube moved on the case, has any one had something similar done ? If you can let me know who you used, PM is fine if you dont want to make the info public. Hope someone can help. Thanks.

  23. Tried unscrewing the one above and still nothing, I m still being delicate which may be why its not working.
